Great Article on David Dawson
I follow his twitter account and the guy has had a few bad things to say as of the last two days. Some fans pissed him off and he was talking about camping down south this summer. No clue what that it all adds up to or means but I found it interesting.
Is probably pissed off by the rating Magnus gave him...
I think at this point Magnus just probably avoids all threads that make mention of Dawson.
Not really.
Dammit Magnus!
his twitter feed sounds intensely immature.
"his twitter feed sounds intensely immature"
This could probably be applied to 90% of twitter feeds.
heh you highly over estimate Twitter
The main problem with "social media" is people always think they have something interesting to say, when they really don't
Why those percentages? He's still committed. I have been busy so I havent checked twitter.
You absolutely just made up those numbers. He's committed to Michigan. Teenagers are moody and emotional; this happens. Trust our coaching staff.
""I'm looking forward to the competition," he said. "I love competition. I'm No. 1 at my position, and I'm going to look for the No. 1 defensive tackle and I'm going to take him on.""
Awesome!
i think this kid's gonna be a beast. looking forward to watching him play.
"I was expecting to be the No. 1 guy. You're not supposed to expect less. I wanted to be the No. 1 guy, and I was excited when the list came out. Then the second list was released and I was still No. 1. That was a good feeling."
I like his drive as well - he demonstrates here a desire to be the best at his position and to continue to be the best at it. To me, that means we're going to get an awesome OG and a hard worker on top of it. It seems like this staff is not only getting good talent, but a great work ethic with these kids too. I would think that only good can come of that down the road.
The guy does start every day with a tweet that says,
"Good Morning
God Bless
Go blue"
Seems like the appropriate way to start your day if I do say so myself. I doubt he is going anywhere, plus I wish some of these guys would realize that people talking trash on the internet could be trolls.
He has not started the day like that in quite some time
One slightly unrelated thing that this article made me think of is another dimension to the "Team ___" nomenclature - I really like it because recruits like Dawson & his classmates can refer to themselves as Team 134 already, but when it comes time to set foot on campus and join the rest of the players, every class is unified as Team 134. Dawson's use of the term is simultaneously referring to his recruiting class and the entire future Michigan football squad.
Here's something I don't quite understand yet about Team 132 and Team 134 etc, If last years team with RBV and Mike Martin as seniors was known as Team 132 this years team with Denard should be Team 133 right? wouldn't that make this recruits part of team 137?
They'll be a part of Teams 134 through, with Team 137 being 'their' Team as Seniors.
Thanks for clearing that out, it's just odd for me, hearing Hoke talking about of seniors being the owners of the Team, anyways, I'm just glad they are this excited about being a part of this Team
It would be really difficult
Protect Shane in the coming years and bring a national championship or two to Ann Arbor!
It's terrible that David lost his Dad at such a young age, but at least he had a good relationship with his father. That's something he can rally around for the rest of his life!
Great kid and fierce competitor, you have got to love that! I just hope this class stays together because they will be one hell of a TEAM by the time they reach their soph/junior years. GO BLUE!!
I would be lying if I said I was not worried about Dawson becoming a decommit though. Ever since that LSU/Les Miles tweet I have been skeptical. I really hope he holds on and wears the beautiful winged helmets and the BEST color combination known to man, Maize and Blue...As always, GO BLUE!
You mean the tweet that was generally considered to have been misinterpreted, and since which Dawson has reaffirmed his commitment about 6,567,912 times?
THAT tweet?
As someone who lost a father at a very young age, I know how hard it can be. I can't imagine having to take on such a public role on the heels of such a tragedy. David, if you're reading this, (a) you are a living tribute to your father, so keep doing what you're doing, and (b) stop reading this, along with everything else on the internet. There isn't anything good on the internet.
The people who have actually spoken to David seem convinced he's 100% committed. Dawson himself has said he's a solid commit more times than I can count. Dude is committed.
I can't promise he'll end up at MIchigan. The general bloodymindedness of the Universe ensures that nothing can ever be guaranteed. But those who speak of how likely he is to jump ship based on nothing but conjecture and Twitter tea leaves are embarassing themselves.
