OT: Michigan State football to play a series with Oregon, starting in 2014
Pretty much what the title says. "The agreement between the Ducks and Spartans calls for Michigan State to play at Autzen Stadium in 2014, and for Oregon to travel east the following year."
I wanted to put this in mgo.licio.us, but had no clue how. Sorry mods.
Michigan with USC?
Sparty's classes are really fading since they were never really high in the first place. Dantonio seems to be a good player developer although a mediocre recruiter.
Let's hope Sparty doesn't fare any better against Oregon than we did.
On the contrary, the better Sparty does against Oregon, the more national attention.
The more national attention they have , the more national attention we get when we beat them.
Go Sparty! Beat Oregon!
Then lose to us!
gets national attention, we don't need a win over Sparty for that.
This is just a regular home and home series, nothing with the B1G-Pac12 deal. That deal will start in 2017, and the teams/matchups will rotate, so its not like we are matched up with oregon and northwestern is matched up with stanford, its just a coincidence. They are taking WVU's place because WVU opted out after its move to the big 12.
& stop interrupting our coaches when they are trying to speak.
He should have taken notes instead.
I think (hope) we'll get matched up against Cal. Our series with Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Utah, and Colorado were fairly recent. We also played USC twice pretty recently (albeit in Rose Bowls). We haven't played Cal since 1980. Also, they will be eager to host a marquee opponent in their new stadium.
All signs point to Cal.
That's going to be embarrassing.
So Sparty agrees to schedule the Ducks when they will likely be affected by sanctions (likely, although I'm not sure NCAA discipline will affect them by then). Hmmm...That was my first thought when I read this.
Eh... I doubt that was a factor.
Just like they scheduled Boise State....once Kellen Moore is gone, of course.
Kind of like how Boise is currently under sanctions this year...
Good for MSU.
say that Michigan States procombats were ugly. I thought they were pretty nasty. What was awful was our road unis that day. It pains me to say this but I liked em. It doesnt matter what uniform you wear as long as Chip Kelly is there though. The recruits they bring in now will account for there games then and to my knowledge they are not going to be getting the quality recruits they have been getting since Brady took over.
Nasty is... good? Thought I was too young for this, but get off my lawn.
Probably very bad for winning football games
Those two games against them sucked. We were such a better team in 2003, but they had the home field advantage big time for that one. Then of course in 2007 we couldn't have picked a worse time to play them...right after, well, you know.
No I do not know. I do not know at all, and you should refrain from inquiring further.
And I sense a lot of these types of moments...
OT: Michigan State football to lose a series with Oregon, starting in 2014
Oooh. Great chance for Dantonio to increase his amazing national recruiting profile.
Shouldn't Ohio play Oregon? They both cheat.
I want to see Colorado, I don't care if they are terrible, I want to exercise this demon!
I was there and, thanks to you, I have now wasted 17 years of therapy!
Actually, I was thinking the same thing about playing Colorado. We beat them the rest of the series. Knuble and Ward even paraded the Stanely Cup at the Big House during a Colorado game when they were Wings (lol Av fans). However, I would still love to see us pound them a couple of times.
Seriously though, did you have to post a video of the play, much less one that freezes on the momen he makes the catch. I mean, WTF?

I think Fhshockey might be an angry Sparty troll in disguise. That is just plain mean. If anyone does that again they're going to lose their points indefinitely (a sort of life sentence without parol that a convict received for a depraved heart killing).
Demons are in good enough shape already. I'd rather exorcise those bastards.

With or without sanctions for oregon, sparty will get spanked...twice.
Add me to those rooting for UM-Cal or UM-UCLA. Either would be great, and I'd definitely go to the away portion. And maybe Cal and UCLA will be playing better by the time it happens.

Detroit free press is reporting that we will play Arizona in a home-and-home in BB...is football next? Will we be facing you know who come 2014? (or 2017?)
Topic discussed here.

The only question I have is whether Oregon will put up 70 against the Spartans in Autzen Stadium. I love it.

I'd love to see UofM play a home and away series against Arizona. Great story lines and it should be an easy win for Michigan. right?

but after the 2nd or 3rd year, Arizona would be a tough opponent to prepare for, at the very least. In fairness to RR, I would bet they'll be fairly competitive after two or three years.
