OT: P. Diddy's son commits to UCLA
Justin Combs has much to celebrate about. After months of speculation, Diddy's son has revealed that he will be playing college football for University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). J. Combs got offers from Wyoming, Illinois, Virginia, and other schools as well, but decided to run with the UCLA Bruins for his collegiate career.

he's just going to run other people's plays and say "uh" in the background.

That's a Master P song dude, although coincidentaly, Master P's son is friends with Darius Morris.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:18 PM ^
or another son?
November 29th, 2011 at 1:20 PM ^
yeah, little Romeo ended up playing basketball as a walk-on at USC
November 29th, 2011 at 1:49 PM ^
wikipedia (citing WSJ) says he got a scholarship as part of a package deal with a friend
November 29th, 2011 at 4:03 PM ^
That friend was Demar DeRozan, the best shooting guard in the class.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:50 PM ^
sucks at basketball. Saw him play for the Fort Wayne Fury and he was probably the worst guy on the floor the whole time.
November 29th, 2011 at 6:56 PM ^
He was 35+ at the time, I'm sure he was better in his younger years.
November 29th, 2011 at 12:44 PM ^
November 29th, 2011 at 1:11 PM ^
C'mon, thats Master P, not P Diddy...
November 29th, 2011 at 12:46 PM ^
Pretty good offer list for a 2-star. UCLA, Illinois and Virginia.
November 29th, 2011 at 12:49 PM ^
If his last name was Johnson and his dad was a construction worker, his list would consist of Community Colleges and maybe a couple military institutions
November 29th, 2011 at 12:54 PM ^
Rich people. does he really need to take up a scholorship?
Save that spot for the 99%.
Occupy College Football
November 29th, 2011 at 1:48 PM ^
But if you are what's wrong with him taking a scholarship if the school believes he's worthy of it?
November 29th, 2011 at 1:53 PM ^
mostly sarcasm
But if he has the money than why does he need it. A scholarship doesnt give you playing time.
November 29th, 2011 at 12:51 PM ^
Bad boy, can't stop, won't stop.
I wonder if he'll say that to LBs after running through them?
November 29th, 2011 at 12:53 PM ^
Wanted the celebrity media that will come with p diddy watching games and his son playing. Can't blame the schools.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:14 PM ^
One of the big reasons UCLA is perennially USC's "little brother" is becuase USC seems to have cornered the market on celebrity hangers-on. If UCLA can start their own celebrity culture, they may actually be able to compete with USC someday in something besides basketball.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:00 PM ^
I wonder how many times he will change his name by the time he graduates.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:03 PM ^
I can just imagine Zook sitting in at a family dinner. Puff probably made him walk across town and bring back a piece of cheesecake.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
Hilarious. I love Puff for that and shiny suit man!!
November 29th, 2011 at 1:05 PM ^
who has a fluff-daddy cd? I don't know of anyone in my circle that owns one...hmm!?
November 29th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
Since the year 1999, probably people under the age of 16.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
No Way Out is the best thing Bad Boy ever produced that wasn't a B.I.G. album...and maybe Harlem World. No Way Out is legit.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:18 PM ^
a Sean Combs cd.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
Wait people buy cd's?
lol should have said who owns a puffy alblum
November 29th, 2011 at 1:10 PM ^
I remember seeing an article on Scout at some point over the summer that the dude held his own against some high 3/4 star receivers at a combine, and they were throwing his way all day. Sounds more like just another lack of update on his rating, rather nwarranted interest from D1 schools
November 29th, 2011 at 1:12 PM ^
If Caroll was still in the college coaching arena, this kid would be a Trojan.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:15 PM ^
Lil' Romeo (Master P's kid) was a walk-on for the USC basketball team.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:14 PM ^
If they had gotten MC Gusto's kid or maybe one of Stab Master Arson's nephews I might actually be impressed.
November 29th, 2011 at 3:16 PM ^
Or if wacky d and sunshine had played half time at the big house.
November 29th, 2011 at 5:57 PM ^
No love for Dead Mike? Poor form.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:21 PM ^
He ain't goin nowhere, he on a Bad Team for life.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
all of the people under "players like him" have a fairly less impressive/often nonexistent offer list. Maybe those who think this is just a name thing are on to something...
November 29th, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
Neuheisel is probably going to get canned if/when UCLA gets smoked again on Friday. I doubt the new guy will be interested in wasting a scholarship on the off chance that Puffy gives a halftime speech some time down the road.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
He already got fired
November 29th, 2011 at 1:49 PM ^
You'd think they would wait one more game. Gonna be kind of awkward if they go to the Rose Bowl and he can't coach in the game (even if unlikely).
November 29th, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
That's going to take more than a miracle. Last I heard on talk radio this morning was Oregon was favored by 31. That's ridiculous, especially for a conference championship game.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:47 PM ^
UCLA's recruiting class is less than impressive and given UCLA's history with hiring coaches it's doubtful they hire someone who would energize recruits by himself. Something tells me all commits will be honored in this case.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
Can't nobody hold him down. He's got 2 keep on movin'.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
This is quite the year for celebrities' sons...
Deion Sanders, Jr. plays for Flower Mound (TX) Marcus, which is Stephen Hopkins's old school.
Barry Sanders, Jr. is mulling offers from just about everywhere.
P. Diddy's son committed to UCLA.
Mario Edwards (son of Mario Edwards, former NFL cornerback) committed to Florida State.
I'm probably forgetting a few.
November 29th, 2011 at 2:23 PM ^
I saw on Rivals that Zach Banner is Lincoln Kennedy's son.
November 29th, 2011 at 2:52 PM ^
Andrus Peat's dad was a tackle in the NFL.
November 29th, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
If you include basketball, there's our entire men's team (exaggerating slightly).
November 29th, 2011 at 1:37 PM ^
when the coaching spot is up in the air.
November 29th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
I might be wrong about who this was, but I think it was Desmond Morgan who committed after Rich Rod was fired, during the coaching search.
November 29th, 2011 at 6:02 PM ^
Desmond Morgan committed to Michigan on December 13, which was well before Rodriguez was fired.
AFAIK, nobody committed to Michigan between Rodriguez and Hoke.
November 29th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
Whoops. I guess my memory failed me.
November 29th, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
he chose Los Angeles over Champagne-Urbana, Charlottesville and someplace in Wyoming!
November 29th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
who has three thumbs and doesn't care?
