SIAP: Message from sparty nation to Delany
Just read it for yourself... Thoughts? I got my own and I want to hear from the rest of the board.

EDIT: I'm ready for the negs on this, but I figured we should all hear about this.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
The funny part is if someone like Purdue did this helmet twisting thug punching action vs. say a team like Minesota Purdue's player would get the same suspension, they aren't looking out for Michigan.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
So basically the classic "they started it" argument. I think someone needs to take a timeout and think about what they did..
October 26th, 2011 at 7:26 PM ^
too long...who cares...

October 26th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
Don't you think the MSU guys should be saying "Bullshit suspension, but we still beat Wisconsin without him so let's fucking celebrate." ???
This is like fouling a guy on his last second shot, and then continue bitching even after he missed the free throws. He got suspended, you won anyway, stop bitching about it.

derps and will always be derpy. Sometimes they need to write it down to prove just how derpy that derp hole of derp fans is.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
This is funny to me for two reasons:
1) The idea that we're a "protected team" would make a lot more sense if the Big Ten didn't suspend one of our players for throwing a punch TWO YEARS AGO.
2) It turns out MSU had been whining about Lewan for the entire game. Guess they're not so tough.
IMO, this is really easy - you can't throw a punch on a football field, especially after the whistle blows. The idea that this was "part of the play" and that Ghoulston "didn't intend to injure Lewan because he had a facemask on" is ridiculous on its face. As is the idea that this is some grand conpiracy by the Big Ten to return Michigan to relevancy (Ghoulston's suspension did nothing for us).
Dude lost control during a heated game and got punished. Happens all the time. Fucking deal with it, MSU.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
If UM is a protected team and Delaney wants to bring UM back to relevancy, why didn't Delaney call the official right away and have the official throw Gholston out of the game on the spot. That would have helped UM win the game and stay undefeated. I am sure there was a BW3 near B1G ten offices.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
teacher talking.....
a lot of blah blah blah in that article. get over it . move forward.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
.....when anything else interesting happens in this apparently ongoing drama. Purdue on Saturday, folks. Be there.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:48 PM ^
You could in theory arrange it so the hotel the visting team was staying at had no power and thus no hot water, food, etc, right? I mean since we're all bored here?
Or at least teach me how to rewire my meter so my gas bill is my landlord's problem? I'd love a winter of sitting around in my shorts while the heat is set at 83.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:51 PM ^
Truth be told, the circuits where visiting teams generally stay at are problematic ones, mainly due to equipment age (the innerds of a 45 year-old underground transformer are a high voltage Gordian knot).
As for the gas meter, I know little of MichCon's ways. I am not allowed to comment on electric meters for various reasons. LOL.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:56 PM ^
Cool, one more random offtopic.
As I kayaker I've heard all kinds of rumors about he various dams around Ann Arbor producing power. Some people claim the hydroequipment is removed. Others claim they're actively producing power. I've also heard weird theories about how they're only online when the price of a KW hour makes it worthwhile and off the rest of the time. Do you know if dams with the potential to produce hydro are active or not?
October 26th, 2011 at 8:06 PM ^
Barton Dam definitely does and has for many years. We actually used to own it.
A little closer to where I actually live, French Landing (on the Huron River near Haggerty Road) was actually an Edison substation in dam form before 1968 when development in the Belleville-Romulus area supported a conventional 40kV station.
There has been talk for some time about installing hydroelectric generation at Argo and Geddes dams. Argo might come sooner rather than later - there is a big remediation project near the old MichCon Broadway site (the service center was demolished) which will have both banks of the Huron cleaned up by summer of next year. We're actually looking to get rid of that substation - those who live on the north side will thank us for that one.
Anyhow, Barton is the only one I know of in Washtenaw County that actively produces electricity, and we buy it every month, same as we do for people who have solar generation.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
Awesome. Thanks for the info. I'll look forward to seeing another ton of "OMG High Voltage" signs around Argo in the future then. Even though I fear amps a lot more, only takes 100 mA to crispy fry a human.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
The biggest hassle out there was moving a pole on the headrace about ten feet so they could get a cement truck from the livery at the end of Longshore to the south end by the substation. I spent several hours standing in the mud out there dealing with that.
October 26th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
this post by rogerdorn, is much more interesting and relavant than the info contained in the OP's link....
October 26th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
They are just crying. I don't know why, when they beat Wisconsin. Lewan has a brain, Gholston doesn't. That's it.
Can't wait till we crush them next year. They lose too much to be good next season.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
1. This would not be an issue if not for the unprecedented amount of "crying" from the Michigan fanbase following the beatdown in East Lansing.
2. You've been saying this for four years.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
You make it sound like you beat our 97-2000 teams. Last time I checked you beat 3 of the worst teams in M history. WOW... Also the only GAME that means anything is the one in November. It must suck being the little brother of a prince because you can never be a king... I would be upset too if I were a MSU fan
October 26th, 2011 at 7:45 PM ^
because it hasn't been beaten to death here.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:48 PM ^
Second gunman on the Grassy Knoll! 37 documented facemasks! Rabble rabble!
Miss Hollis, let's be serious. Taylor just wants to dance.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:50 PM ^
About two weeks ago I went to the grocery store. I bought grociers from the grocery store. I do this about every 2 weeks on a regular basis, but since it happened two weeks ago I just HAD to tell you guys about. I felt this was just as relevant as the OP. Discuss.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
He's a blind Spartan homer. And we're Michigan homers. This issue is nearly two weeks dead now. Who. Fucking. Cares.
In the little part I did read, I found it quite funny that he spelled several persons' names differently at least twice. Oh, and that MSU had 37 instances of Lewan grabbing face masks because of HD video from a coach's cam, and being pissed that the refs didn't call it. All I can do is laugh, because, seriously? Thirty-seven instances? Hahahahahahaha. And I imagine that Sparty was being a bunch of perfect little angels. Oh wait...
October 26th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
Obviously I am not going to read a long post about whining, BUT...
1. You said it is important for us to hear about this, and
2. You say you see a rule change coming.
What do you mean? As far as I can glean, this is the MSU AD complainging about the B10 procedure. How is that important for us to know or indicative of a rule change?
I'll hang up and listen.
October 26th, 2011 at 7:57 PM ^
Anyone who sides with Sparty on anything is an idiot.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:04 PM ^
What a pathetically overwritten piece that is based on him and his family's disdain of Jim Delany.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:18 PM ^
What you mean is that Delany would not win a "popularity context" in his household.
This dude needs a proofreader. If I'm an arrogant Michigan alum for pointing out the fact Denard is spelled with a single n, so be it.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
I'll keep it short:
1. Throwing a punch should always warrant a one game suspension. There is no gray area, it's uncalled for. Period.
2. I love the lengths Spartans go to defend him, yet no one mentions the Denard twist which was far more shocking and 100% unprovoked.
Bottom line: Spartan fans be thankful he only got 1 game, and that he didn't hurt anyone. Time to move on.
October 26th, 2011 at 10:22 PM ^
You speld it wrong it's Dennard.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:18 PM ^
TL;DR
Seriously, that was longer than essays I've seen turned in for school before. I mean c'mon, what does it matter? YOU JUST BEAT THE 5th RANKED TEAM IN THE COUNTRY! Just let shit go already, Tom will be back for this weekend, and by the end of October the whole country will have forgotten about it
October 26th, 2011 at 8:26 PM ^
If they're that angry with the big ten leadership they should send a message and apply for membership in the Big East
October 26th, 2011 at 8:27 PM ^
Thanks for making me angar!
Honestly, this guy is a turd. Next.
In the comments I actually did see someone try to defend the helmet twist. He said it "wasn't as bad as it looked and that if "Dennard" (who?) wore a proper helmet, it wouldn't have looked so bad.
What a bunch of frickin babies.
October 26th, 2011 at 8:40 PM ^
We just pounded the crap out of you, physically beat you down, and you went and cried "Thuggery! ATTEMPT OF MURDER!"
Then when we try to complain about your dirty play, you say "LOLZ STOP CRYING"? Does your hypocrisy know no boundaries?
October 26th, 2011 at 8:58 PM ^
You are not a smart person.
October 26th, 2011 at 10:20 PM ^
Lulz. The vast majority of posters here acknowledge the gridiron ass-kicking MSU handed us, so maybe you call dial back the outrage a tad. Yeah, MSU won via better play. Agreed.

Then there was the matter of unsportsmanlike behavior. UM fans didn't make it up as an excuse for the loss. But it happened, and it raised their ire just like it raises yours when crap happens to your players. In this case, the B1G agreed it happened. Even some of the MSU coaching staff admits it--heck, they are proud of it. So it's super cute to make like we are inventing it as a crybaby excuse, but that's even more far-fetched than the thing I just read in the OP.

Pryor gives us insight: "Everybody murders, steals from me, steals from you..."
October 26th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
from what I can guage. Not super-well written. If the author can account for why one of our guys got suspended only a year ago and for Gholston's head-twist of Denard then let's have a conversation. Oh, and rules; yeah, splain us why you make rules if you don't mean to follow them. (Don't want that ref he quotes adjudicating my games, thanks!)
MSU is never gonna be Michigan. We're the 15th best u in the world and they're dead last, B1G. They go out of their way to find a chip to put on their shoulders. I don't see how that ever goes away.
Narduzzi's comments were asinine and--to this reader--admonishment is a nice stiff term of reproval. Next time they get out their thesaurus, hopefully they'll hit on something more apropos.
I do think they are right to distance themselves from the New Thug U image that--for a minute there--they seemed intent on embracing. It wasn't going to be a winner for them down the line.
October 27th, 2011 at 4:58 AM ^
Seriously who cares about all of this. PLEASE STOP acting in the very same manner that makes them our little brother. I swear we're developing shadows of an inferiority complex.
For the record, they aren't last in the B1G academically, I think they're 9th or something...
October 26th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
Seriously guys I thought we were done with this...
3 days until Purdue. 9 until basketball. That's what's important.
October 26th, 2011 at 9:30 PM ^
Erase this thread.
October 27th, 2011 at 8:43 AM ^
if you aren't interested? This is one of the eternal mysteries of life, people who come on message boards to be 35th in line to say they aren't interested in something.
October 27th, 2011 at 10:40 AM ^
It isn't that he isn't interested. It's that he wants everyone to stop focusing on this, and I agree. We aren't little brother, let's stop acting like it.
October 26th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Yeah, I'm sure this was "a week from hell" for them...
October 26th, 2011 at 10:09 PM ^
I give the guy credit, for a work of compete and utter fiction, he did a good job making it sound like something that could have actually happened.
