I would just like to see the best athletes on the field, I do not care their age or experience. At some point the people on the field are not getting the job done, so if the players are not changing then the coaching is the issue. I realize the DL was at its max today, but the OT's got burned all game and not one RB could gain a yard or seem to make a cut to gain more. Best players are all out wide and can be game planned against. If the spine is weak the body will fall. The spine is weak for Michigan, especially on D.

10/29/2017 - 4:30pm KK

Good for him, hope he does well!

10/08/2017 - 12:26am OSU & PSU

Penn St got beat down at Michigan last year and won the Big Ten. OSU seems to have an early loss each year and goes on a streak. Maybe this was the wake up call Harbaugh and Michigan needed. No one wants to lose (especially to MSU) but maybe the players and coaches will now show more grit and produce like they can and should.

09/19/2017 - 2:59pm MGoPoints

Could you see how many points they had?

04/28/2017 - 12:07am That's what they said on ESPN

Sad to say but only 2 1st rounders in 10 years. Glad to see Harbaugh will get more in the near future. Hope to see Butt, Lewis and Wormley in the 2nd.

04/19/2017 - 4:47pm BvB

Feel bad for Dortmund as they got off to a bad start with the attack last week. Monoco is better then most think though so who knows who would have won without the extra drama. A lot of players at Monoco are making money right for transfers next year.

02/22/2017 - 9:23am Leicester

I am surprised Leicester has made it this far after the EPL they are having. Will be interested to see if they can continue their run in the CL after being 1 point above relegation zone in the EPL. Alays fun to watch the "Old Lady" play as I never much about them in Serie A, but are always solid in the CL.

02/21/2017 - 11:13pm Georgetown

Patrick Ewing and Georgetown went to 3 finals from 1982-85.

02/21/2017 - 5:13pm Wow

14 goals in the 2 matches, wish I could have watched live but seems to be a good one to watch when I get home. 2nd legs should be fun to watch.

02/21/2017 - 9:00am Degree

Always great to see people value the hard work needed to finish what they started. Hope he can help out more with the football team as his experience could be great for the team.

02/21/2017 - 8:56am Man City

Will be interesting to see the line up for Man City as Monaco has a potent attack and City has been weak on defense (against better teams, but they have been good lately). Hoping for some good open play and work rates from each game today.

02/17/2017 - 12:16pm Best Guess

Pete nor ESPN will say anything about this as they do not want to make a story of something that could hurt the SEC Network. But your right it would be a story any where else in the country.

02/17/2017 - 11:12am I am in

Nice to have something to disuss in the american football off season. I am all for any EPL or Americans abroad discussions.

01/10/2017 - 2:59pm Good Luck

Best of luck and hoping for a great pro career.

01/09/2017 - 8:50pm Double Farts

That would have been fun to watch, damn kids activities ruining my evenings.

05/20/2016 - 11:39am Cups

Need to go see a Ryder Cup and a World Cup

05/02/2016 - 8:08pm Next Year

Would be great to see the whole team come back next year for Leicester and just add a few pieces for depth or a starter or two, Afraid the team may be broken up if Kante, Vardy, Marhez or Schmeichel get their contracts bought out.

02/06/2016 - 4:00pm Green Room

Grabbed 2 growlers from the Green Room (great Jax brewpub). Double IPA and a small batch Ale flavored with coffee and orange for the wife.

07/24/2015 - 9:51pm Alabama Getaway

Had 3 Good People IPA in AL with some raw oysters and low country boil.

Worst job was ripping up old apartments at the Univ. of Toledo during the summer in college.

06/20/2015 - 1:15pm QB Camp

Good friend of mine brought his son to the camp from FLA and said it was a great camp. Can't wait to hear the details.

01/24/2015 - 10:42pm Moon River Swamp Fox

Drinking moon River in savannah at a soccer Tourny Good beer

12/26/2014 - 10:28pm Beer

Went to pFiem brewery for lunch and now back to 10 barrel pray for snow pale ale

12/25/2014 - 6:20pm Glogg

Drinking Glogg and Bridgeport IPA

11/22/2014 - 7:49pm So True

Gardner couldn't hit a receiver in stride making it hard for a receiver to catch the ball. I feel bad for Nussmeyer as he has no option at QB RB or WR to call plays. Maryland had 8-9 in the box all game and we Michigan couldn't take advantage.

09/08/2014 - 1:59pm Agreed

I watched the game with a formaer Iowa offensive lineman and kept seeing ND players getting free. He did not have a quick answer as to why, but I am curious if it was communication by the line as has been pointed out or if it was technique or simply being over powered by the defense.

08/21/2014 - 9:13am Well

I am very surprised by the "Well" to Question ratio, a little disappointed in fact. Hopefully as the season goes on it is closer 1:1 ratio.

07/12/2014 - 10:28pm ND & OSU

I am torn on this question. My first game with my father was in the early 80's sitting in the student section when I was about 11 or 12 and wondering why all these people were shirtless and acting weird. My dad didn't know how to explain that one. As I was not ready to learn about drinking and football and it's obvious link. The last game I watched with my dad was the Bakabatuka game against OSU and it was so much fun to see undefeated OSU lose. I was lucky enough to then understand drinking and football and enjoyed them both that day as my father and I went to Ashley's after game for a celebratory drink(s).

07/09/2014 - 8:08pm In NC for vacation

Went to Wicked Weed, Wedge, LaB in Asheville this past week and Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill. Now I am trying Outer Banks Brewery tonight. All were very good especially the pubs in Asheville and Outer Banks

07/04/2014 - 3:05pm Great Write Up

It was an understandable loss but heart breaking none the less. Can't believe Prince Harry scored against us. Can't wait for 2018 already.

07/04/2014 - 3:02pm Happy 4th

Enjoying family time in Asheville NC at Wicked Weed & Wedge breweries watching futbal with the kids.

06/10/2014 - 9:31am American Style

One of the things I have always liked about Klinsmann has been his ability to get the players to change their style of play. Never heard him discuss playing more like America, but this makes perfect sense. Define the identity of the country and try to get the players to do the same. Great article.

05/11/2014 - 11:06am Go City

Hope City can hold on. Upset Fulham has been relegated.

04/10/2014 - 9:28am Masters

1. The Masters is a great event, but not the best. I equate the course to a playboy model, beautiful yet everything has been touched up. Do they really have speakers playing birds chirping in the trees? Do they really dye Rae's Creek so it is not as muddy on TV? Can the announcers be more boring? I will watch but it is always with a tainted eye.

2. Tiger '97, Scott '13, Nicklaus '86

3. Rory, Westwood, Poulter, Stricker (want to see a first time winner at Masters or 1st Major)

12/29/2013 - 10:56am You are correct

12/29/2013 - 10:52am Nice Job Shane

Nice to see Shane make Lou Holtz eat his words at halftime about lefty QBs. It was a good game for Shane considering he was limited by his experience, the play calling and no running game.

12/06/2013 - 10:58am Top 2 Advance

I am not worried about the Germany, Brazil or Argentina teams being in the USA's group since the top 2 teams advance and as long as USA advances they could avoid a top top team for a few knockout rounds (having been in the same group stage). I just hope the other 2 teams in the group do not have the ability to beat USA and the other teams making it harder to get 1st or 2nd in the group stage. Switzerland would be easier for the USA to beat than Germany, but it would be easier for Bosnia or any other weaker team as well.

11/25/2013 - 5:28pm 1995

Watching the game with my Dad at Michigan Stadium while watching Tim Biakabutuka run for 300+ yards and beat undefeated OSU. I will never forget that day and cannot wait to take my son to see Michigan play OSU someday.

11/09/2013 - 8:04pm Execution

"I'm in favor of it." John McKay, coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976, when asked about the execution of his team.

This is what I think of every time I hear about players not executing. Also at this point, if a lineman can't block or a RB can't pick up a blitzing LB, it's time to fire Funk & Jackson. Borges may not be great but he is doing what he can with what he has. I am no longer surprised by anything this year, maybe it's time to groom next years players so they are ready to execute when called upon.

10/13/2013 - 10:21am Awesome

That is all

10/12/2013 - 9:36pm Yes

Yes Yes Yes and Yes

08/01/2013 - 12:02pm Double Mountain

Forgot about that one. That was one of if not the best of the pubs I went to in the NW.

07/30/2013 - 4:48pm Ommegang

Ommegang is way underrated in my opinion and I do not even like Belgium beers in general. They had a good selection and by far the coolest brewery I have ever seen. So glad to see Boulevard in the top 5 as they have the best wheat beer I have ever had.

07/30/2013 - 4:43pm Agreed

To me Widmer Bros. & Bridgeport are very good craft beers. Too many others to mention in Oregon & Washington. Sounds like the list is as much marketing and name recognition as it is about the actual beer.

06/16/2013 - 12:49pm Happy Father's Day

Homemade Eggs Benedict is first on the list then I hope to drink some Widmer or Bells while watching The US Open. But I am sure the kids will drag me to the pool at some point.

05/25/2013 - 8:28pm Great Game

Exciting game fun to watch. Feel bad for Dortmund but Bayern was the better team today and all season.

05/21/2013 - 9:21am Great Story

Amazing that Al took the time to spend with a blog to break down how the staff prepares the players. It shows the respect he has for Heiko and the MGoBlog. I wonder how many other coaches would do this with their local reporters? Thanks Heiko, cannot wait for Part II.

05/09/2013 - 1:23pm Scheduling

Great to see games being scheduled in areas outside the midwest that Michigan has labeled as important recruiting areas. Maybe we can get some games with USF/Miami or TCU/UT down the road.

05/08/2013 - 9:28am Interesting

Should be an interesting few months. Interesting to see if they go with a big name (as suggested above with Klopp or Mourhino or Ancelotti), or an up and comer to big clubs (Moyes and the Everton pipeline Man U has used over the years) or a player (Giggs or Scholes). Will be nice to see how this shakes out this summer.

05/06/2013 - 12:03am Incredible

I am amazed by what Mike Bawris has been able to accomplish with Brock & the other persons recovering from injuries which rendered them unable to walk. They all inspire me to help others achieve their best.

03/17/2013 - 8:57pm VCU

VCU is very athletic and forces a lot ot tournovers. Michigan will have to focus on defense for that game as VCU can hang with Michigan's offense. Akron would be easier after losing their PG a few games ago. VCU has a has a chance to go far this year if they have the right match ups with their up tempo offense and defense. Half court teams will give them trouble.
