ACE: Jordan Payton Annoucing on Tuesday
Per Tim Sullivan, who posted this info on The Fort ($, also front-paged on The Wolverine, but still behind a paywall), Oaks Christian (CA) WR Jordan Payton will announce his college decision on Tuesday. He's visiting Notre Dame for the USC game this weekend, but has maintained throughout the last several weeks that Michigan is his leader, and there has been no indication his stance has changed. Barring a last-minute change of heart, it looks like the Wolverines will finally have a wide receiver in this class, and a very good one at that.

Purdue is in two weeks dude. Can't look past practice this week. You know this.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:00 PM ^
Yes, guess I should have worded it better. I was thinking that next week will be great with a Payton commitment followed by a Purdue win that weekend.

What fear level are we at for BYE this week? 10?
October 19th, 2011 at 8:12 AM ^
I dunno man, Idle is battle tested, they have played pretty much everybody.

Good luck to Jordan, looks like good news.
Did Sam Webb say something about M looking at Burbridge again? I thought he said that on WTKA. Also, are we looking good for Darboh or Madaris?
October 18th, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
I thought we had to pass on Burbridge because of grades or something. Same with Se'Von.
It does fit the 'if you can't get into college go to State' meme pretty durn well.

I've read a couple of times that if he gets his grades in order, the doors would be open to him. The coaches probably didn't want to wate a schollarship on him if he couldn't be here next fall. THe team had too much of that under RR, and the sooner Hoke can have a deep roster of upperclassmen the better the team will be.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
my god i hope that's true. losing him to sparty is one of my greatest recruiting letdowns. i realize it was the grades thing rather than a lack of interest, but i honestly think he's fantastic and would be a terrible loss. hopefully he can get it together and he switches to the good guys.
October 18th, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
Check his criminal record...that will tell where he'll likely end up.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:37 PM ^
you guys think we'll leave a spot open for steffon diggs?
October 18th, 2011 at 7:42 PM ^
From what I've heard it's a bit complicated. I'm not expecting him to come to AA.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:42 PM ^
Some recruitments are always and forever in both nature and likelihood.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
Is that Nietszche?
October 18th, 2011 at 10:31 PM ^
is epic and nonsensical in both meaning and form.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
I could Digg that as he is a Diamond in the rough, but seems like are chances are quite Powe with this recruit.
October 18th, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
You're trying too hard to fit in.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
Double post
October 18th, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
That would be more appropriate if he was going to Ohio State.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
According to rivals he has low interest in ND. Looking good, WR with some size will be welcomed.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:13 PM ^
I noticed on Rivals that Green-Beckham still has "medium" interest in Michigan...
Is this the case or are we off his list?
October 18th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
It's not happening.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:00 PM ^
Has he ever mentioned a favorite? Not that I'm too concerned with getting him to Ann Arbor, but I'm interested to see where he ends up.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
Bama, sooners, Mizzou
October 18th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
...now that's what we call recruiting NATIONALLY.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:23 PM ^
I thought only Michigan State recruited nationally (and may I say, Ingham County is a nation within a state within a nation).

any word on the dt from california who decommited from stanford. Shittu.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
When can we expect an announcement. I need some good news.
October 18th, 2011 at 10:04 PM ^
October 18th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
We need this right now ...especially on a bye week
October 18th, 2011 at 8:38 PM ^
Isn't it interesting how he set up an announcement date before the ND visit? Must not really have any faith in ND
October 18th, 2011 at 8:41 PM ^
just wants to have fun and check out a pretty cool campus. Plus it never hurts to make due dilligence on a college choice.
October 18th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
Your right. If I got a chance to go check out ND campus and meet the players, etc. I would take it too
October 18th, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
That's pretty common, especially if he knows ND is his last visit.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
Swing and a miss.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
GoBlueWolverine it says Sunday,so i'm guessing he will annouce on Monday.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
This could be sweet
October 18th, 2011 at 9:05 PM ^
Is he a consensus 4*? I know a couple had him up there ...
October 18th, 2011 at 9:14 PM ^
Scout: #12 WR, 4 stars
Rivals: #18 WR, 4 stars
ESPN: #25 WR, 4 stars
247sports: #32 WR, 4 stars
October 18th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
That qualifies as consensus. Can't do anything but help our class rankings. Thanks for the info.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
glad to help
October 18th, 2011 at 9:28 PM ^
USC "cold shouldered" him out the door (can't blame them, they have like five thousand 5* WRs), Cal sucks, and Notre Dame hasn't been recruiting him hard for multiple months now. I seriously have no idea why he is still visiting for the USC game. Maybe just to hang out... maybe to do some recruiting for Michigan... who knows. But I will be socked if he doesn't commit to Michigan.
Very good player. Premptive congrats.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:41 PM ^
I'm glad you won't be socked

I thought the same thing... Armstead supposedly said his parents weren't happy with some of the things that were happening, maybe it was the same deal with Payton when he decided to de-commit... I'm sure they were talking a lot when they were committed to USC, maybe they've been talking all along...
October 18th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
I think it was Payton who a couple months back said something like he was hoping to get a group of big name recruits all to commit to one place, something "fab-5 style". Remember?
Hint hint
October 19th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
Zeke Pike? Auburn QB commit?
Him.
October 19th, 2011 at 1:51 AM ^
Jordan Payton to Auburn?! It all makes sense now!
October 19th, 2011 at 11:52 AM ^
No - Zeke Pike was the one who said he'd bring a "mega-class" to UM, then committed to Auburn.
Payton was the one who made a Fab-5 comment about bringing a handful of bigtime commits wherever he went. Hopefully he still plans on doing so.
