Well done.
Make it happen.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCKING WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I WANT TO HAVE SHAWN HUNWICKS BABIES!!!!!!! 3 DOWN 1 TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOST NERVOUS, EXCITING GAME EVER!!!! WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
also: WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How'd that last 10 minutes feel in real time? On the screen was tense enough. Hunwick was on fire. Nothing better than the last few minutes of a 1 goal playoff hockey game.
the most nerve wrecking 10 minutes of my life...but confidence kept building as the clock went down. when the empty netter went in, all us students were just jumping and in a big hugging mob...one of the best sporting events I have ever gotten the pleasure to attend live.
What would you say the split was for fans? It seemed like North Dakota had us outnumbered on tv.
best wishes with HUNWICK...go
WTF is this? NO SPAM INTERRUPTING OUR PARTY! ARGH! DID YOU MAKE A BOT THAT MADE AN ACCOUNT HERE? IF SO, IMPRESSIVE, BUT A BUMMER. ALL CAPS BECAUSE I'M JUBILANT. AND TYPING LIKE SAMUEL L. JACKSON.
Mr Melrose, Mr. Jackson would like to have a word with you!
Oh, of course; that was the intended reading. Yeah, I was drunk last night and stayed up way too late reveling in victory. Whatever- totally worth it.
KILL IT WITH FIRE!
needs to get the point system back in place. This moron Sparty Belarusan spammer should not have had the ability to post.
Can I note, with extreme surprise, that there are no highlight videos (aside from the Legg goal) from the 1996 championship on YouTube? Here I am trying to get pumped up, and all I have is a grainy video of the 98 Langfield goal, a few snippets of the regionals at Yost that year, and -nothing- from '96.
WolverineHistorian, get to work, my friend.
I can email it to you if you want
Post it to YouTube! We need more Michigan Hockey highlights.
1. I know. We've been season ticket holders since '93-94.
2. Hope you bought him a beer.
I swear there was alcohol in at least the suites at several NCAA regionals I went to, and I could have sworn they were selling beer in Albany.
Either way, we can all agree the NCAA makes everything pretty much as sterile and soulless as possible.
I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!
Great win. One more game. go blue.
I love it when an underdog wants it more and pulls off a gutsy performance like that. Multiply that X 5 million for a Michigan team doing it. Absolutely outstanding. And why are any of us surprised that a fan from North Dakota is acting like a douche? That's about as surprising as hearing a Steve Spurrier-coached team is having issues with players' off-the-field behavior.
Very nicely done.
NCAA logo on puck, FTW!
I'm a man, but if I were a woman, and a cross-dressing gay one at that, I would have a sex change to be a hetero man who likes to cross-dress and get a little on the DL so I could have mantaman sex with Shawn Hunwick.
No ho- er, het-er...
Wait, what was my point?
10-4 buddy. Right there with you. I understood. And if I had the ability to embed a GIF of someone making the gesture where they point two fingers at their own eyes and point to the camera while nodding, I would have just done that.
What an amazing game. I don't know if I have seen a better goaltending performance considering at times it was a victory just to get the puck out of our own defensive zone. Clogging up the neutral zone and the agressive forechecking on the penalty kill was just what they needed. Great game plan and great execution. Go Blue!
Very physical game. Michigan played man puck out there and it was awesome.
This was the Battle of Helm's Deep if Lord of the Rings was a hockey game. Red = Gandalf, Hunwick - legions of Hobbits, Rust = Aragon, etc etc. The orcs of NoDak just kept coming and coming and coming we held our ground. The castle was not lost. and now we march onto the field of victory in the finals.

Sweet! If we can complete the WCHA sweep on Saturday, this will have to rank as one of the most satisfying M Hockey seasons ever. I don't ever remember a time where every opponent was from one league. Given all the cries of WCHA superiority, this will be like one big slap to their collective faces reminding them that MICHIGAN will always sit above them all.
Yay!
