I was hoping that you guys did these 2 plays. Wish came true. It jumped right off the screen at me when I rewatched.
Essentially the same play for the game, each team. We execute. Bama doesnt
Our play uses a lead blocker, theirs uses motion as a ploy to get a man out of the box (poor mans lead blocker).
Bothe have guards pull from backside.
Ours is a handoff for the back to follow the pulling guard, theirs utilizes the qb to follow the guard.
The Main differences were execution or lack thereof - Bama has the bad snap, and Milroe buries himself in the line after that, instead of following his guard. Then athleticism - Corum's jump cut and maybe more important was Barnhart having the feet to get around Loveland doing all he can not to get pushed back too far. If he doesnt get around to lead upfield, no way we score.
The Good ol wham play to spring Isaac for a long gain. One of my favorite concepts.
This one was inside where the block was executed by the fb on the nose. I still like the off tackle version harbaugh ran in SF against the lions. I think the H back was split out and would shuffle in motion inside toward the OT. They'd let the DT come unblocked upfield, H block would crash him down inside, handoff to Gore and he slides right around the carnage for like a 50yd td. Haven't noticed them run that version yet at Michigan. Thought it would be good against a player like mcdowell at msu. But we didn't need it, lol.
Dude,I apologize. I usually proofread anything I type. Didn't do it this time. That whole post was a fail
What came out as speed, was meant to say Scripted.
But I do agree they had some pace to what they were doing. I thought a timeout would be good, but knowing the reality of first drives, I figured a timeout wasnt totally necessary
Great breakdown. I had to convince a few fellow fans to calm down after that drive. Their reflex unwarranted panic at in quickly. I educated them on speed first drives, and they took my word for it.
That being said, I don't know what other content you've got planned for this week, but Michigan had a pretty dominant first Drive as well. Any chance you could dissect it as well? Is he nice to see the differences and similarities of the two approaches
I remember when San fran played the lions. I just kept seeing this one play where the DT would come free upfield and have the RB dead to rights, to then simply get cleaned out by the man in motion and Gore just run straight upfield with nobody to hit him for yards. It was beautiful, and they just kept running it.
Thanks man, glad to finally know the concept. Good for a team like msu, unless their SS is playing too close. however, i'd take Deveon one on one against an SS any day
I'll admit, it feels pretty good. Makes up for some of those misses we had in previous years. In it til the end but they go elswhere at the last minute. No more!
My cousin had never been to a Michigan game so I decided to take him, in order to show the glory that is (well, was) Michigan Football. I get tickets once a year from a coworker who had season tickets. As much as we talked football, I figured it was criminal of me not to expose him. he was a student, and didnt really have the funds at the time to do it himself
We were probably about the 10 yard line, corner end zone, Home side. we were down about 10 rows from the exit, so we decided to walk up to the exit and watch the last play from there in order to leave quickly. We were standing right next to 3 psu fans
Pass is up, caught, game over. As our opposing fans are holding their heads in disbelief, we say "Have a safe trip home fellas," and proceed to walk out with the most satisfied and mildly arrogant smiles on our faces you could ever imagine.
look, I can't recall specifically what I read. but IIRC there were several positive reports of him being out there on the recruiting trail and at least 2 that said a couple kids liked him. is that groundbreaking. no. but for a guy with his first college experience, it's a good start.
thing is, during this run up to nsd, I didn't expect to hear anything about Jay doing much. Jim could have easily said hey you get started with the 2016 kids, we'll handle 2015, however realistic or unrealistic that is. but the f fact I've seen his name out there more than the other assistant coaches, to me, means he's at least doing alright.
now if that's unsatisfactory for you then I'm sorry, you're reading too much into it
Been a lurker around this blog for a long time before I even made an account. I've navigated the waters through many a message board/forum/blog. there's always a trial and error approach when starting to post on each one. Skin is plenty thick
yeah, I got no problem with people bitching, but I did have to edit because I thought it was an interesting article too. And I'd actually like to see if anyone has an opinion on it or something to add.
well since you wanna expand that statement way past where it should have been taken, lemme explain:
how is commenting on how he did well ths past week celebrating recruiting chops. he has no recruiting chops. he hasnt recruited anyone. but from what we've read over the past week or so, these things might be a sign of future success. If he turns out to be an ace recruiter, then we can look back at this time and say he got off to a good start. tis all
(The OP was loing enough, did I really have to explain that)
IIRC they were referred to as Ohio back around or before the Bo era. I think Bo might have even called em Ohio regularly and nobody gave two shits about it
Couple this with the Harbaugh bump, and throw in Mattison staying on. Not to mention Possibly getting Marrow from Kentucky. This recruiting crew could be dangerous
Anybody would leave when the NCAA comes with sanctions
and besides, Pete had no ties to USC, just success. JH had a great career as a player and he and his father have very loyal ties to Bo. He is sewn into the fabric of the football program
I dont thnink you can compare the 2 situations. It is much more likely he stays, but I wouldnt be surprised nor mad if he ends up leaving at some point, as long as he has success here
after the way they covered this coaching search, I made the decision to donate to the website after the holidays. It's proven itself as a legitimate news source and not just a "blog" (not that it hadn't done so already). i mean, to have approximately 2 weeks where we knew there was a great possibility JH would be coach, while the national media had no clue, is priceless. I would talk to others who were less knowledgable about the search with a sly smile on my face because I knew their skepticism was completely misguided. i encourage others to donate and show respect to the work these guys are putting in. The way theyve covered this has moved me out of lurker status and it feels good to be a contributor and a michigan fan
"During his tenure, the 49ers won two NFC West titles, reached the NFC Championship game in three consecutive seasons and advanced to Super Bowl XLVII. Harbaugh is the only coach in the history of the NFL to lead his team to the conference championship game in each of his first three seasons, and his 44 regular season coaching victories rank second in the NFL during his four-year tenure with the 49ers."
I cant read that and then imagine firing the guy that helped make that happen

Lets say it again for the people in the back
"wirecam on returns is undefeated"
Karl Childers?
Cool, Another early enrollee!
My favorite play after seeing Harbaugh use it on the Lions. Gore gashed the lions for like 50yd TD
They kept using it and kept getting chunk yardage

My cousin is still appreciative til this day.
Any reason for no winged helmet on the Bang Bang shirt?
Did the same with NFL helmets last week:

Guess who was on the Chargers when Chryst was their OC...
Harbaugh:

Same thing Mattison said to Neal. Everybody's on the same page. Gotta show a united front, lol.
j/k, but Mattison (if the story is true) pulled a big Joe Biden on that one
"Dillon, you Son of a Bitch"
*Waits for most epic handshake ever*

information wasnt the point. was laying out my reason for posting the article. It got wordy, but hey, I'm a rookie. It happens
agreed but, I can understand the concern. It comes form shellshock related to the past season and the other coaching searches.
but realistically, what a place to have your first position coaching job. He's got a hell of a staff to learn from. This should be great for him
Indy is on shaky ground talking about deflated balls, the way they got castrated today
reminds me of an old kung fu fight:

Another reason not to join twitter
wow
This help?
Thanks for this. i ran across this stuff after sundays game looking for the Balke and York press conference but forgot to watch it.
Very well done
Especially liked how they edited him as a coach calling in the play to him as Colts QB, nice
Wonderful how they had this banner at the top of the screen:
"We noticed that you may have an Ad Blocker turned on. Please be aware that our site is best experienced with Ad Blockers turned off. "
Says you buddy!!! i experienced it quite fine, lol
Snoop Dogg is too old and skinny, he's past his football prime, dont think we want him
Besides, with the amount of weed he smokes, I question his conditioning
(but maybe his son might be an option)
You've said nothing about Drevno, though, in a post titled "Why Drevno Is a Good OC Hire"
Talking about Roman has nothing to do with him. If youre point was that Roman was polarizing, then title it "Why Roman would be a bad OC hire"
I'm just saying, I think that's common sense. Very misleading post

Bad title for a good article
Glad Hackett has better taste in Head Coaches than watches. That watch was hideous
Probably hackett's decision, but Jim should throw his weight around here
So essentially one girl has D cups, and the other girl has DD's
I dont care, it's all Tiddies
*gases up the motorboat*
They fired THIS guy:
"During his tenure, the 49ers won two NFC West titles, reached the NFC Championship game in three consecutive seasons and advanced to Super Bowl XLVII. In S. Korea its 8:30pm. and yes, I'm still actively reading. but probably less tired than most others, lol
It's fun to have nice things
it's been a long time
I heard Stefon Diggs...
sorry, I had to
As if Brandon would ever admit a mistake. He'd still throw somebody else under the bus, even at 2am
Dave Brandon wouldnt have been happy with this banner. no AD should be hidden so subtly in the background!!
