Date Title Body
On the play #4

the double move that Mario pulled off was straight up ridiculous.  He is the best at doing double moves and accelarate out of the cut that I've seen.  ND CB didn't know what's coming at all, but to be fair, neither did the rest of the CB who tried to cover Mario.

Crable

is a good athlete, but will never get bigger for some reason. His upper body is HUGE, but has a twig lower body.  It's probably genetics since he can't seems to bulk up his lower body.

I agree with his #1 choice

Nicely done and the song is perfect for the video.  The last image is amazing as well.

Peralta?

ehhh.  A decent hitter at best with below average defensive skills.  Nothing to be excited about the trade.

Actually,

from what I've been told by the players whom I have gotten to know at Michigan.  They think Frazier is a player and he played really well toward the end of the season.  They do think that they can handle UConn but it won't be as easy as many people think they will be.

Shaq

is among the best C ever to play in the game of basketball.  No center has stretches in their career where they have been virtually dominant.  He won numerous of rings.

I may get negged or criticized for it but I do think Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the best C ever to play the game of basketball.  I cannot say that Russel, Kareem or Wilt is better since I have never seen them played on tv or in person.  Hakeem was the most skilled, athletic C who can make anybody silly with his variety of moves including his patented move, The Dreamshake.  He was the only center who is in the top 10 in the all-time steals list.  No C were in the top 20 in that category.  Hakeem was the all-time leader in blocked shot for the career.  On top of it, he is a career 75% FT shooter which is impressive for a guy in his size.  He was the only player who was named the MVP, DPOY, and Finals MVP in the same season.  Not even Michael Jordan can do it.  He played against the toughest competition with Ewing, Robinson, Barkley, etc.  On top of it, he's the nicest guy that you would met which makes him one of the more likeable player in the league.

got lucky

I was with a group of friends(8 of us) and we were in the same graduating class.  In our Junior year, we were in row 60 but in our senior year we were in row 15.  We got lucky even though we all have similar credit hours.

They have a lot of good athlete

on that side of the field. Bruce Carter, Quan Sturvidant, Marvin Austin are their three best defensive player on the team.  Bruce Carter has ridiculous speed and he was timed 4.3 at 230 lbs which is quite ridiculous.  I will give it a 5 FAKE out of 5 FAKE in Brian's chart unless he runs that time at the NFL combine.

The only offensive player worth mentioning is Greg Little.

There's rumblings

that the Lions aren't waiting for Bradford and wants Suh contract to be lower than Stafford's contract.  They don't want a DT to be paid higher than a franchise QB's contract.  Apparently it's for 35 million guaranteed money which is lower than Stafford's contract.

well

Denard knows about 3 running plays and a variation of the three plays.  Everybody knows that he's going to run the ball which makes it harder for Denard to have success on the ground.  Which makes it all the more impressive in yards that he was able to get despite the circumstances.

As for starting QB job, if both QBs are even in passing, you have to give the edge to Denard because of his ability to make big plays with his feet.  Tate is no slouch in that department but he just doesn't scare defenders with his feet.

Let's do it

just like the guy who revealed the identity of the guy who is a compliance officer!

Michigan

will be the first team to win a NC, using 3 QBs in an extensive playing time.  Sweet, Michigan will have set the gold standard of being able to use 3 QBs and still win the NC.  Let see how other team can beat that with 4 QBs!

I agree

David Molk was the most important OL.  He may not be the most talented, but he's our toughest and gives our OL an attitude whenever they get on the field.  When we lost him, it's obvious that our OL regressed and they didn't display tenacious mean streak on the field.

He's the key to the OL success for '10 season.  If he's healthy, Michigan offense should be fine.

No way

that Kelvin Taylor is an 8th grader in that highlight video.  If so, then wow because his abiity to elude defenders and his feet quickness is very impressive for an 8th grader.  He has his daddy's gene and many people forget how great of an athlete that Fred Taylor is back in the day especially his speed.

Can't wait to

watch Janurary Jones on TV.  Wowzer!

Would be an

upset if Dee Hart commits to a school other than Michigan.

Pulling HaHa away from Bama is going to be tough since he grew up a Bama fan.

Good thing about bringing Nick Patti up for a visit is it showed his dad(who is a big influence in central florida area) that Michigan is a great place for kids to come play football.  I would expect more central florida kids to come up to visit because of Nick Patti's dad.

There's reports

that Denard outplayed Tate in practice scrimmage before spring game in which he played against 1st team defense.

Personally, I'm

more of a fan of Datsyuk in Rahmani commerical.  How the heck did Rahmani manage to get Detroit athletes to do their commerical?

If Iowa defense

does the same gameplan against Michigan which is leaving 6 guys in the box to defend against Michigan(for whatever reason), Michigan should be able to run at least 200 yards, easy.  Michigan can beat Iowa, they're well-coached team but they're not that good.

Hagerup might someday be the

Hagerup might someday be the best punter any of us can recall

Um, Zolton ring a bell to you?

35 spots

are way too excessive.  You need to target about 12-15 players to get optimal minutes calling recruits.  Target recruits who are in the green(preferably top 5, even better top 3).  I check the ratings grades before I target recruits.

He can't earn

more than 30% increase from base salary due to CBA rules.  He's essentially stuck with lower base salary that does not match his productivity which is part of the reason why you don't want to sign a long term rookie contract if you're not a 1st rounder.

Tebow is used

primarily as a short yardage/goaline QB.  For the rest, Chris Leak does the work.

well the problem

is most of the OL are put on Gittleson's diet which to get bigger by any means(usually eating and lifting).  RR as well as Barwis wanted them to get rid of the bad weight and put on good weight.  When you get rid of bad weight, you tend to lose weight faster.  This is part of the reason why RR made that statement.

yeah

people think that RR likes small OL.  It's not true.  RR wants OL who can move and is in shape.  If you're a big OL who can move, RR will take that player.

The mis-conception most likely stemmed from the fact that RR wants pretty much every OL to lose bad weights in his first year here.

Only it's because

the punter(Gibbons) is channelling the spirit of Zoltan the Space Emperor.

well

Michigan spread option offense is wildcat except that they have QBs who can run and throw.

Don't want to clutter the board

but I thought that it's worth posting for bouje who thinks that Torres needs to get a tampon during WC final.

Fernando Torres injury

I cannot wait for

USA/Brazil game at Meadowland.  It'd be interesting to see if the big name Brazilian players who were left out from the roster will be at the game.  I'd pay just to see them live in person.

40s time is one of the more overrated

aspect of evaluating prospects.  Brandon Spikes ran over 5 sec in the 40s and still got drafted as a LB.

There are more reasons on why a prospect fell or went undrafted.  40 time is almost never one of them.

Alabama

has no interest in Dee Hart other than as a KR/PR.  Not sure if Hart is aware of it, but Auburn is our biggest competition IMO.

Ross is and should be

the best player in the state of Michigan in the class of '12.  Ross should be a national recruit.  He's a stud and he impressed me a lot every time I see OLSM play.

you obviously

haven't seen Holland play in other games.  They flopped way more than Spain in the WC.

Manny's

game translate better in the NBA.  There's more spacing on the open floor, no hand check and it put more emphasis on athleticism moreso than anything else(unless you have one outstanding trait to off-set the lack of athleticism) in the NBA level.  Manny got abused, hand-checked and doesn't have much room for spacing to get to the hoop, yet he consistently showed that he can get to the rack despite the fact that he doesn't go to left very often(many people know about it) and is not a great shooter.  That tells you something about his athleticism and the ability to get by defender.

Making excuses for Stu, Novak or LLP and other players doesn't cut it for me because they're wide open and you should be making it at least 50% of the time yet they don't.  You should be already set to shoot the ball if you're open and if you can't make it on a consistent basis, then we've got a problem.

You really don't know

Manny or played with him to say that he's a bad teammate.  Don't say stuff like that if you don't know what you're talking about.

Manny

averaged close to 8 assists per game.  How is he not a team player?   He would have averaged well over 10 assists per game if his teammates can knock down open shots.  Manny has to carry the load and take bad shots because it's the only way that Manny know how to win is to try to do it by himself because he has no one on the team(except for Sims at times) who can score.

Please englighten me on how he's not a team player.  He wants to win and is willing to pass more if he has teammates who can score.

I wouldn't go by total defense

because WVU's offense is so explosive and scores a lot of points.  The defense is bound to have a lot of possession to defend.  In that regard, some of the rankings looks a whole lot better.  RR does know how to recruit defense.

MJ

wasn't exactly an angel

If you go by score

then yes, Dutch played better than Spain.  If you go by performance, you'd have to go with Spain.  Spain has dominated in possession game and shot created.  I would expect Spain to dominate the possession game with their short and precise passing game which has been down right ridiculous and beautiful to watch.

I'd expect Spain to win and yes I'm rooting for them to win it all.  I like their style and they don't flop as much as other teams like the Dutch, Italy, etc.

or a

spectacular disaster.

key word

when healthy.  He's never healthy.  He'll give you good contribution across the line in points and rebounding.

It sure helps

to have some stability in defense with the same DC, GERG.  That will be the biggest difference maker in how the defense perform.  Roh should progress into a pass rush terror at quick LB position.  Big Will is getting better with technique and should be a force to be reckoned with after a year of seasoning under his belt.  We will see improvement in our defense IMO even with the loss of our three best defensive players.

They were

after the loss against Swiss in which they completely dominated in every aspect of the game but the scoreboard.  No one in the media and other people here is talking about Spain as a possible WC winner.

I don't understand

why people keep overlooking Spain in WC.  They pretty much dominated in every games even with the two losses against USA and Swiss.  They lost two games in the last 54 matchesand the former #1 team in the world(for several weeks) for a reason.

Spain is an outstanding posession team and will wear you down defensively.  They certainly wore Germany down and caught them napping. The better team won.  I expect Spain to win the WC.

good call

by Dombrowski because obviously we don't need a 5th starter until the 20th but we gain a reliever to help shore up bullpen temporarily since Zumaya is out for the season.  We'll see how Wiendhardt do in the big league and evaluate him accordingly.

I saw him in person

He's likely a shade under 6' tall.  Denard is slightly taller than Tate.

Submarie pitchers or

knuckle ball pitchers tends to have longetivity because they don't put too much stress on their arm.  Throwing overhand is considered to be an unnatural human movement whereas throwing underhand is more natural and less harder on the body.

fastball

I threw almost exclusively 2 and 4 seamers plus a circle change up growing up until I was in high school.  I started throwing curveball when I was a freshman(when I just turned 15 and I was physically more mature than most people at that age).

I love 2 seamers because it moves so much for me and I learned how to manipulate movements with the pressure from my fingertips.  The umpire had a hard time calling my pitches because my fastball as well as curveball moves so much.  I had either a lot of success or failures depending on the umpire.  If they can call low ball as well as inside pitches strike, I tend to dominate because that's where I typically throw (low and away, high and inside).  If I don't get that call, I struggle.

2 seamers is a great pitch for a kid to have because it gives you movement on your fastball without having to use a lot of curveballs.

it's good for

recruiting and scouting purpose on looking at foreign players who have yet to graduate high school.

Also, it's good for experience and competition for all players including freshmen playing against semi-pro or professional teams.  An extra 10 practice day is a huge advantage for Michigan and they will need it if they want to rebound from a disappointing season.  Plus, they will learn on how to play without Manny and Peedi.

Your 3/4 arm slot

is fine, it's most likely the result of you putting stress on your elbows by other means of pitching windup like you open up too early or your leading elbow are above the shoulder, etc.
