Thanks for your post. I…

Thanks for your post. I logged in to reply that I feel the exact same way. I started going to games with my dad (UM alum) at age 5. Went to every game as a grad student at Michigan. My brother played for UM (senior year was the 2016 season. I will never forgive those refs in Columbus). I was in Houston. Flight to the game was re-routed through Austin due to storms. Made it in person for the second half. I will remember that game, this team, this season for the rest of my life. I was seated in the corner near Mikey’s interception and just broke down during that play. Having been there in person for the entire range of emotions from 97 OSU to App State, the end of this game and season was so cathartic. This blog is incredible and has helped get me through the tough seasons. Go blue!

Sorry I missed that. If…

Sorry I missed that. If anybody has a link to find Woodson bit or the coach moore post-game interview, then please share! Go blue!!

I generally agree, but they totally screwed us in the game. My brother was on that team. I will never get over that “loss.”

This was both horrible and surreal to watch. I’m a surgeon who takes quite a bit of trauma call. My suspicion is commotio cordis, which is sudden death due to blunt force chest trauma. I hope I am wrong. My thoughts and prayers are with Damar and his family. I’m glad the league did the right thing and postponed the game.

Does anyone know how they…

Does anyone know how they assign the two semifinal locations? Does the #1 seed get to pick?

I’m debating buying tickets, and it’s much easier for me to travel to Arizona. Thanks in advance! Go blue!!

Ran into an ESPN cameraman after the game. He said, "you guys won that game. We had an overhead shot showing he clearly didn't gain a first down, but the refs didn't have access to it."

Agreed, PVK is a very humble, sincere guy. I wish him all the best in London!

The guy in the background is Joe Leoni, former walk-on and nephew of former lineman Mike Leoni. He and I went to high school together. Joe's a great guy - hilarious.

Danny will end up at Tennessee. The numbers are just getting too tight with this class.

I had the good fortune of meeting him last May when he was back in AA for the golf tournament. We saw him at pizza house around 2am, and he was very nice. He allowed us to take a few pictures with him and talked with us for a little while. He is by far my favorite Michigan football player because of his actions on and off the field.

Given what has been posted here and on scout, I think the realistic possibilities all play defense. Therefore, I don't think this helps narrow it down.

It is not danny.

Just talked to my brother about it, and you all will be very happy with this news. Out of respect for the kid, I won't give any hints. He is going to be a great one!

Yes, Scout has him listed as the #5 TE in the country. UM is, by far, the best of his 6 offers.

Given your interests, I'm curious why you didn't apply to MSTP programs. Maybe you did, but you chose to enroll in a straight MD program. Best of luck with the GRE and your future studies.

Top 2

1. Michigan - Ohio State, 1997:  I was 13-years-old, and I will always remember Chuck's punt return.  I met him at Pizza House last year and told him that game elevated me from a huge fan to a diehard, lifelong follower of the maize and blue. I still remember the weather, the tailgate food, etc.

2. Michigan - Penn State, 2005:  Henne to Manningham on the last play. The Big House erupted. That was one of the best days in college football that year (Bush push at ND happened while our game was being played).

3.  There are others, but those two stand out above the rest.

My sources lead me to be optimistic that he will commit to Michigan.  However, Auburn is one of the dirtiest programs in the country, so I will remain muted in my optimism until Wednesday.

He wants to make a decision

He wants to make a decision before the football season starts.  His goal is to help CC win a state championship, and he doesn't want any distractions during the season.

Backslash hit the nail on the

Backslash hit the nail on the head. Based on what Matthew and my dad told me after they met with Mattison, they will be playing with multiple fronts. Mattison said they'll be moving the OLB up to double tight formation quite a bit. Therefore, Matthew, while listed as a DT, would usually play in the 5 spot. It sounds as if that OLB is going to be blitzing a lot.  The true DE will be on the other side of the line. By the way, it was during this same meeting that Mattison told my brother that he will take it is as "a personal insult" if anybody tries to run the ball on Michigan.

Mattison told him he'd play

Mattison told him he'd play the 5-technique DT. They want him to play around 290-295 lbs.

Update on Godin

Just got off the phone with my dad, who is at EMU today with Matthew for a track meet.  Tom Lemming is in Ann Arbor this weekend, and he made it out to EMU to meet my brother.  Lemming told Matthew that he'll be recommending him for both the Army and UA All-American games.  My dad also told me that he and Matthew are probably heading over to Ann Arbor after the track meet to visit with the coaches.

Re: Godin

Hey all,

As far as I know, my brother (Godin) hasn't reached a decision yet.

After talking to Matthew and

After talking to Matthew and my dad today, I can tell you that Hoke, Mattison & comany really want him to come and would certainly honor his commitment.  They offered him this early for a reason.

I would guess Matthew eventually gets rated as a low 4-star or high 3-star, though the validity and worth of such rankings is debatable.  Scout only hands out early 3-stars to a limited number of recruits, including Matthew, RJS and Richardson.  Rivals hasn't even released any rankings yet.  As someone else mentioned, he's no slouch, as evidenced by his seven current offers with more on the way.

Based on their conversation with Mattison, it sounds as though they want 5-6 DL in this class. Matthew loved his visit.

Matthew and Danny went to

Matthew and Danny went to elementary school together in Fenton, MI.  They both still live in Fenton.  The commute to CC from Fenton is about 5 minutes longer than the commute to Danny's High School in Flint.
