Let's at least use 2006 as the last time we were a powerhouse. 3 pts from the National Championchip game. The Sugar Bowl victory, while great, was kinda something that we snuck into. Won't take anything away from the team that won and earned it, but we didn't win the B1G and couldn't really consider ourselves a National Powerhouse despite that game.

^^^This^^^ Many times over. It is incredibly inappropriate to announce that you are making this into even more of a media $#!*storm. Arrest him or don't. Two peoples lives hang in the balance and your worried about your own notoritiy...disgusting.

This is something that is very important. I have a Wii (not PS3 or Xbox360) so I can't get NCAA14 (likely the last one they make) So definitely will want to be able to get it, if not now then soon. I don't have to buy the disk, but I still may wind up playing NCAA more than anything else.

Non parent (but expecting) & loved watching Saturday & hated the outcome. I can't say I fully believe in moral victories, but when Hoke or any coach walks into the locker room after a game like that he can say " you have NOTHING to be ashamed about" & he can mean it cause he's right.

Well I could be really annoying for 3 1/2 hours...they may just leave in forfeit...
|2 weeks 2 hours ago||Well the reason that he is||
Well the reason that he is going to have a much longer recovery is because he is having a meniscal repair, not meniscectomy (removal of part of this). The goal is that this knee will function more like his "normal" pre-injury knee. This of course isn't a guarentee but the quicker recovery would be to just cut out the damaged portion. If this was done though he knee would very much never be the same.
Your larger point though may be true that missing what is basically 2 consecutive seasons and sustaining previous injuries to both knees may derail his superstar stautus/career. This is terrible for him, and for the NBA, becuase I think the Bulls with a healthy Rose could give Miami real competition. Now between this injury and rumors of the Heat breaking up, we may never know.

That's a good point. It's much easier to shrug off a loss now for the BBall team as the likely worst it would do is hurt seeding for the tournament, whereas any loss for the Fball team is devastating

ECA (Canteen & Watson's school) must have quite a program. Calvert Hall is an old money private school in Baltimore that can recruit a nice team. Perhaps not a powerhouse, but a thumping like that is impressive. I would not be suprised at all if these guys are able to produce right away.

Example #17435 of why the old system of being able to downvote someone for something silly thereby hiding their comment needs to come back. I think this is really contributing to the slide towards MLive-esqe that this board is becoming.
The National runners-up & highly ranked University of Michigan Basketball team tip off their season tonight. Go Blue!

This has been brought up often (usually talking about a headset as well, thank you for the restraint) but Hoke knows what's going on & helps manage things while trusting his coordinators to call the plays. He has made very few in game errors (end of reg vs. PSU being most memorable to me)

Yeah I don't live in MI anymore so I don't get to watch too many wings games, but this is more relevant now that the wings are in the same division and playing them often

I didn't...was an idea thrown out by my wife. I'm sorry because I didn't intend for this to be an armchair diagnosis thread, but just trying to ask a detailed question (& also pointing out a 'worse case scenario')
I agree with you that HNP or something of the sort would be more likley, but it is interesting that no one seems to have heard that an injury occured, & this just happened with bad timing (although the week before the B1G tourney I suppose would be worse)
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Agreed. From an orthopedic||
Agreed. From an orthopedic surgery standpoint, the finding of this structure itself is not significant (as said a part of the lateral structure and capsule of the knee).
What is interesting is the role of this structure inACL injuries. It will be interesting to see what other information comes from this.

I live in South Jersey (just outside his district). He is well respected and could likely win re-election but there are a few factors (that we know of):
-He was frustrated by the "tea-party" efforts to shut down the government as a negotiating tactic. He could be getting frustrated in general by the lack of progress made in Congress (I know that I am...sorry let's not devolve into politics too much)
-He would likely be facing 2 fights for re-election. Although he could likely win both, he may not want the primary fight from a tea-party/not-so-moderate-republican in a primary and then a democrat in the general election. As others have correctly noted, he is more of a moderate republican & may not want to have to deal with fights on both sides.
-Then there is the fact that he made plenty of $$$ with the Eagles and maybe he just genuinely wants more family time...or some othere personal aspect that the public doesn't know.
Suprising...but there are potential reasons

Looks like I'll be the first guy to say...wait for it...Trey Burke!!! You know, the National Player of the Year?
All snarkyness aside, Walton does look like he'll be quite the player, but lets have perspective when we're discussing a player who's not played 1 minute of college ball. Especially when the one freshly out the door was an all time great.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Completely disagree. While||
Completely disagree. While there may be a few less "wow" players like RG3 or Cam, the teams would still be very fun to watch as would the competition in general.
NCAA basketball as a product isn't nearly as good as it used to be when players were staying 3-4 years and dynastys were forming (Kentucky can't keep anyone good even 2 years). But we're still watching. A lot. You know why? Cause its fun to watch these teams, even if the top talent isn't quite there. Same thing would happen for football
|10 weeks 4 days ago||I actually strongly agree and||
I actually strongly agree and have been saying this for a long time. If a system more similar to hockey and baseball were to be set up, it would fix MANY problems:
-Athletes that had not interest in being students would not have to be.
-the NFL & NBA (through collective barganing because of fear of veteran players losing jobs to 18 year old rookies) wouldn't have to take these young athletes on before they felt ready
-colleges (and subsequently the NCAA) would not have to treat their product as THE minor league for NFL & NBA
There should be a real NFL minor league and NBA minor league which could (but doesn't have to be) administered by the respective league.
If the NCAA is a minor league (players paid significantly more than a scholorship & other benifits they recieve as athletes) it will ruin the product. Ironically, I doubt that people would want to see this new minor league even if some of the "5-star" types went there. There is something about this amatuer competition with people emotionally tied to their alma mater that is truly special. Even if some of the top players leave, the product will still be very entertaining (anybody stopped watching NCAA basketball once all the great players because 1-and-dones?)
REAL minor leagues for fball & bball...DO IT

His info is very good, but just to add that Slainte is by far the biggest EPL (soccer) bar in Baltimore so if there is a noon kickoff there will be plenty of soccer hoolaginism there too.
