If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't derive from the Yip actually. The Yip was due to a player on the other team being named Yip, thus when he was handling the puck there were Yips being yelled. This comes, I believe, from an opposing coach who would make that noise during the power play on the breakout to signal a certain breakout from their zone. The students, upon hearing that noise (I want to say against Miami Ohio), proceeded to make it in an obnoxious cheer that is fun to do. That's just what I think the story is, but I don't know. I can tell you I have had season tickets since 1996, and the cheer started about 3 or 4 years ago, and it is definitly not from the Yip. |
| 3 years 2 weeks ago | There are some ridiculous |
There are some ridiculous courses around Ann Arbor, but the Monster course at Hudson Mills is by far the craziest. The Monster hole is the longest hole I have ever heard of (like 1038 feet ). That shit is CRAZY. And to anyone who has never tried playing disc golf, its easy and awesome. Why pay hundreds for golf clubs and pay for tee times when you can outfit yourself in top of the line discing gear for like 40 bucks (less for not as sweet stuff). Do yourself a favor, try it |
| 3 years 2 weeks ago | I'm sorry, but the preeminent |
I'm sorry, but the preeminent dynasty in American sports? They have won 4 out of 11. That isn't a dynasty, especially when two of those came at the very start of that period. They are a good team, but not a dynasty at all. If you want a dynasty look at the Patriots. What they have done is far more impressive than what the Wings have done. |

Dallas didn't actually pick today, so they performed the worst talent acquisition wise |

Rhett Bomar is by far the best Senior QB in the draft. He just isn't getting the MSM media attention because he is from a small school. You may remember him from getting kicked off of Oklahoma a few years ago. He is going to be a 2nd round pick, maybe early 3rd. |
| 3 years 4 weeks ago | They are showing the games |
They are showing the games that average fans want to watch. Looking at the marquee and seeing Crosby is better than Blues vs. Wings any day. The league actually is doing it right. Market the stars, bring in the crowds, then move to mass appeal. |
| 3 years 4 weeks ago | Actually, these mock drafts |
Actually, these mock drafts are pretty accurate not in specific picks, but in the areas of where people will go. Sure Taylor may not go to the Jags, but McShay feels that he is a fourth round talent, and that the Jags might be looking for a DT in that round. Look at them like a tourney bracket (albeit with over 200 games to pick), not a firm prediction of every pick. |
| 3 years 5 weeks ago | Actually most pro-style |
Actually most pro-style offenses would love to have him. He was a big time recruit with NFL size and a cannon arm. Not to mention that it is not hard to offer a kid one of 85 spots on your roster if he meets these criteria. Worst-case scenario for the tea is he transfers in and takes up a scholarship for 2 years (letting him go before his 5th year). It is actually a good situation for them, he can sit for a year and learn the offense and then play for two years. |
| 3 years 5 weeks ago | Its not a bad thing. There |
Its not a bad thing. There is a basic rule in the NFL, if you don't have a franchise quarterback you don't pass on a franchise quarterback. If he is smart, he will follow this rule and then use his other first round pick to get a guy to protect his new investment (a stud LT). Combined with Cherilus from last year the O-Line will be better and there will be a competent QB to run the offense. |
