Well it looked great on the…

Well it looked great on the scoreboard.  The M band has an aversion to playing to anything but the home sideline.  From the visitors sideline you couldn’t see any of the lights and the sound is always a bit muted.

Iowa State

Iowa State is 3-2. Which two of our wins do you trade for a win last Saturday. Also it is year 3 but really only year 2 of recruiting. That have missed on some recruits but that happens. Once the roster is better balanced those misses will not be as painful.

Grandpa

Guys don't want to play for grandpa

Ummm...... Lloyd Carr might

Ummm...... Lloyd Carr might disagree

Don't remember that.

I I remember it being full for every game that year. In fact it probably over sold it because it was always too tight. The students just aren't coming to the game the same numbers they used to. I had expected this game to be different but it wasn't.

Agree on the concession prices.

Hey agree in the concession prices. Who ordered two hotdogs and two pops in the commemorative cups and was stunned when they asked me for $27.

I get that I got the better cup and that cost me an extra $4, but that is gouging your customers big time.

2010-11 were the best

The 2010-2011 were the best of that bunch, but I do like the new practice jerseys.  I have never been a fan of the block M in the home whites (same in basketball) when it differs from the rest of the font.  That is being pretty picky though.  I am also becoming less of a fan of simply having the block M on the jersey by itslef.

collar

The fact that it appears there is writing on the inside of the collar (wins or fight song) causes some concern that this will be the UTL III jersey.

kids

There are lots of places to park, and cheaper ones if you don't mind walking about a mile.  I usually park downtown and it is relatively easy to get out after the games.  The golf courses are good with kids b/c they can run around and play football and bags and other games.

I try to get there with my kids about an hour and a half to two hours before kickoff.  Gives us time to walk around a bit either to a tailgate or around campus.

Here is a link on the atletic department page for Michigan Stadium, it includes a list of prhibited items.

The band plays in front of Reveli hall before the game and matches over to the stadium.  There is a drum line show about an hour to an hour and a half before kickoff.

Cheaper tix - look on stubhub, for endzones (can't remember the sections numbers) in the higher rows 50+.

But it is so easy to

But it is so easy to say....

exactly

My thoughts exactly.  What am I paying for.  Time to look at the stub hub vs. season tix analysis again.

CJ Leslie = Class Act!!!!

CJ Leslie = Class Act!!!!

Awesome.

Thanks for the update.  Got this just in time for a hcokey jamboree trip to Ohio.  Now I just need to decide whether or not I wear the Worst State Ever t-shirt.

Nothing official

There is nothing official that I know of, but he said he wants to address the team and then the media through the athletic department. Given that, his performance vs Clowney and given his mom his helmet after the game there is a lot of smoke around him leaving for the draft. And you know where there is smoke there is fire. I would love for him to stay but just don't see it happening.

uniformz

The following is from a daily article on the Adidas contract:

"Beyond financial matters, Winters said the agreement with Adidas grants the department more individual attention and control over the deal's operations.

Athletic Director Bill Martin said the look of teams' attire - especially Michigan football uniforms - will change little or not at all. He said Adidas will allow the University input in designing sideline outfits for the team's coach and staff - a change from the same outfits Nike supplies every collegiate team it sponsors.

***

Stipulated in the agreement, Winters said, is the University's right to renew a contract with Adidas maintaining the same conditions, annual adjustment for cost-of-living estimates and a "favored-nation" clause, which allows the University to demand any terms that Adidas offers another university."

I don't think we will be changing the agreement when it expires (8 year deal signed in July 2007 I think).  I would agree with Brian the UA has done some great things, but unless people stop buying these new abominations, the atleteic department will still only see $$ with every new "special" jersey

Thought it was supposed to go outside.

Magnus you probably would know, but it seemed that the blocking was set up to take the play outside from the begining with Gallon and Omameh heading that way and Denard cut it back into the wash.  If he breaks it outside and Omameh blocks Bullough, Denard is set up for a long run given that he had Rountree and Gallon leading the way.

31

I am in row 31 at the 25-yard line and I think that is a great row. Anything in the 40s would be a great seat

no expert

I am not a rules expert, I thought it did since it references a legal downfield reciever.

its early

Its early.  He will get better.  I thought he had unpolished routes.  For example on the PI call that was picked up, he drifted in running down the field and ended up out of position when the ball arrived making it uncatchable or seem to be uncatchable.

Same here, but he was giving

Same here, but he was giving up 20 pounds on the DB.

shove was late IMHO

Without worrying about whether the ball was in the air, I think we need to look at the one of the key part of the rule above, which I see as:

"Defensive players may ward off or legally block an eligible pass receiver until that player occupies the same yard line as the defender or until the opponent could not possibly block him. Continuous contact is illegal"

From the video it seems that the actual push of Roundtree happened when he was occpying the same yard line as the defender or when he was trying to get around him on the outside which to seems to be when he could no longer block Milliner.  The contact before the push seems perfectly legal.  The shove out of bounds doesn't.  Thats just my opinion.

Either way it seems like a tough call for an offical to make at game speed, but he did see enoguh to drop his hat indicating that Roundtree was out of bounds.

Lets hope that its not a really bumpy road in 2012

I agree that it was just a big ugly bump in the road.  I am worried with the schedule that there may be a few more bumps down the road, but I still think we have a good team.  We got beat last night and that happens.  How do people think Nebraska fans felt after their game agaisnt Michigan last year.

The players won't give up, Hoke won't let them.  Lets hope Countess, Lewan and Moore are fine and move on to Air Force.

Defense

The Defense will need to stay fundamentally sound and play their gaps.  I am not worried about the offense, they will be fine.

Outside

Gallon is better on the outside, Rountree is better on the inside.  I would like to see Dilieo get some more snaps too.

trying

They weren't not trying to win.  They just weren't willing to risk their biggest asset bysmashing him into the Alabama D time after time in the first game of the season.

To keep him healthy for the big ten season.

Why put lipstick on a pig. No one, thought Michigan had a chance going into the game. Winning or losing it doesn't effect the team's stated goal of winning the Big Ten. Therefore they seemed to come up with a game plan keep him healthy for the big ten season. Unfortunately that game plan went to shit after 1st Q and we were forced to try and pass our way back. Denard's chuck and pray didn't work like it has against less talented defenses.

Outplayed and out coached. It happens. I has a sad panda.

Fat Tire

Fat Tire. Lol

Far Tire!!!

Far Tire!!!

same here

I do not like the gray facemask or the numbers.  For a throwback style 1-off game they are fiine, but not for the season.

I think the helmet is way too busy with all the extras and we don't need to add anything to the best helmet in football.

Deciding Factor

Both Zeller and Burke were awarded Freshmen of the Week 7 times, but only Burke also won the Player of the Week award.

Leading his team to a share of the Championship, as a 1, is absolutely huge for a Freshman and should at the very least give him a share of the FOY award

Get Well

Congrats on you and your family's new Michigan fan!!!  Keep well and keep fighting.  Go Blue!!!

beat me...

Beat me....but great news

Go Blue!!!

I didn't think it was a

I didn't think it was a spear, but it was kinda blocked in replay

wow

I think he should get two for the move and an extra for the tebow celebration!

If LSU

If LSU continues to flounder there will be no chaos.

Mundy

Did they list Michigan or West Virgina Mundy's college?

Haven't been able to see it

I haven't been able to get the video to load on either Dylan's site or on BTN.  Would like to see it, maybe its my browser.

Fat Phil

I am not sure about Osborne, but I always thought Phil ranked us 4th as retaliation for Woodson beating Manning for the Heisman.

belima

belima = befuddled.

Couldn't agree more

The Husker fans by me in section 3 were great, all game.  However, they were also disappointed by the halftime show.  I could only say that it was the worst halftime performance I have ever seen.  It may have looked like a good idea on paper, but the combination of video watching and the band did not work out.  Plus I would bet that the vast majority of people have not seen those videos.  That seemed out of character for the MMB.  Hopefully, next weeks will be better.

Richardson

Richardson???

One of the biggest hits, not best

I would say that that game had one of the biggest hits ever not the best, as neither player ever played football again.  From the reports on the interwebs, Taylor broke a bone in his neck and Stephenson had to relearn how to walk.

Columbus?

Columbus?

hopefully

The snap count has been a problem against MSU for multiple years.  It should have been fixed in game.  The players should have been able to relay it to the coaches or even do something about it themselves by varying the count or the timing of the shotgun snap.  I would think this is something they would pick up on after gettting beaten for the fourth or fith time....but nine come on.

Lets hope they address the problem.  Why it wasn't addressed before or during the game is beyond me.

Appeal

Is this something they can appeal if they wanted?

interesting

I was thinking something similar.  I thought it really impacted Denard having time to read the d and pick up any blitzes.

wildcat

Does it have an effect, yes.  Is it appreciable, I don't know as far as Denard..  A lot of teams ran the wildcat a few years ago and it didn't seem like that big of a deal on the QB to step out for a play or two every couple of series.

I think the bigger impact is on Devin who has to come in cold.  If he is asked to run ok, but if he has to throw it has to be difficult.

to the football gurus

Can anyone explain how a silent count or double silent count works.  Is it as simple as when Denard signals to Molk with his arm that Molk then snaps and the double is we do this twice.

It seems real easy to time a snap count for the Linebackers to just start their blitz as soon as the QB makes this move.
