Hearing Cameron Hunt Rumors point toward Michigan...

Does anybody have any new Intel on Cameron Hunt considering switching over from Cal? I know there has been some interest, however I'm hearing twitter is trending "to follow Cameron Hunt, Go Blue! etc..." I'm hearing it's coming from Patrick Kugler and Shane Morris pretty thick.

I wanted to throw it out there to see if somebody had more definitive information. I do not have twitter...

Go Blue!

Knowledge without wisdom is a load of books on the back of an ass.

I think most indications have been good for Cameron Hunt over the past several weeks.  This isn't really anything new, just kids being kids.  I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt commits next weekend (on his official visit) or even sooner.

Yeah, while Twitter is the ultimate FWIW source, the other '13 recruits sure seem to be pretty sure that he's going to be joining them.    The other schools that he's considering are Cal, Oregon and Ohio State--  although Michigan, Cal and Oregon seem to be ahead of Ohio on his list.  He is supposed to visit Cal on Jan 18 and Oregon on Jan 25, so it'll be interesting to see if commits on his upcoming visit to Ann Arbor.

He'd be a great pickup--  4 stars to everyone but 247, which has him just below 4 stars.

We're still low on numbers, even with the recent influx.  You generally want to have at least 15 linemen on the squad.  Lewan's leaving, so now there's an extra spot.

I don't really care about the 2014 class.  You get what you need now, and you figure out the rest later.  So many linemen don't pan out that 1 or 2 of the 2013 guys will probably be gone in a couple years.

I think it'd be a really good Diary, and I'll research it if I have time, but you HAVE to plan on a certain number of attrition. Maybe 75% of guys stay and can perform over their 5 years. Maybe it's 60%.  Figure you need 15 lineman like Magnus said. 10 Ready to Play. Maybe ideally you take 4-5 every year, but we're still catching up.

Our OL recruiting since 2009 is what is forcing us to take so many in the past two classes.

2009 - Quinton Washington (swtich to DT), Michael Schofield (starting RT)

2010 - Christian Pace (career ending injury)

2011 - Chris Bryant (missed 2012 with injury), Tony Posada (left during camp)

Getting 1 starter and only having two OL on the roster from those 2 years really hurt us with the OL numbers.

It's pretty much Hoke compensating for the previous regime not signing enough linemen... Hoke stated last year that he wants around 15 scholarship linemen at all times, so he won't be taking 6 in every class, but for now he is just trying to catch up.

Hunt is really good friends with Kyle Bosch; in fact, I'm pretty sure Bosch is the one who put him in touch with the Michigan coaches originally. I think he's definitely the favorite out of the new group of 2013 OL the coaches are targeting.

Thought this rumor was crushed yesterday regarding Poggi?  Just wish signing day was here already...But, they are kids and this happens...need to keep things in perspective.  We have a very good class and I'm happy with the core...really helps having DD back too!

Poggi's dad is taking some kids on a trip to Alabama, and Henry decided he would tag along. They are calling it a "business trip." It sounds pretty shady, but it's Nick Saban so what should we expect. Anyway, they think he will flip. The whole thing is compounded by the fact that it is a dead period right now, and the coaches can't talk to Henry.

It is. I might be repeating myself by now but it is really strange how this is happening during the dead period. There were rumors Poggi wanted to visit A&M around November, but he was afraid of losing his spot so he never did. But now? It seems like the perfect storm. Even it is a "business trip", you know Saban will be trying his best to flip Poggi the entire time

This is the case.

I was told by Henry to keep it on the low yesterday, but they're going to visit his former Gilman teammate Cyrus Jones and Henry decided he wanted to go. He contacted the coaching staff beforehand to make sure that it was OK that he went on the trip and they said it was.

It's really nothing to worry about.

Don't like it because Saban is such a good recruiter and is shady and they'll be hopefully coming off an NC. I don't want any recruits near that. But if the coaches are OK with it, then so be it; they must be comfortable with it. Is the trip going to see the teammate at like his house because its a dead period, or they doing the full football facility/coaches experience.
