See, there's the problem - you should have made sure you got the model with the 191 cu in. V6 in it. The speedometer in that model went to - I think - 110 or 120, but really you didn't want to test that POS much past 80 or so. I guess it really works out the same then.

I guess I don't understand it when talking heads like Kanell will latch onto a piece of information and, without bothering to research or provide context, create a narrative that is both wrong and debasing. Then, when they are presented with evidence contrary to that narrative, they insist on being proudly, bravely wrong and resent that you tried to stop them.
But this is ESPN, so I shouldn't be shocked at all.
|11 hours 17 min ago||Wow...||
I remember thinking when he limped off initially that it was bad, but after hearing him say that, I didn't realize it was so bad that he was within sight of actually losing that leg. Even with all the items that came out later about the injury and the extended absence from the field, I don't know that I would have thought it even then. Cannot imagine being told that either. It definitely puts in perspective some of the dangers of playing the sport.
It would be awesome to see him out there again, but it's totally understandable if we didn't.

Corvetteforum.com gives MGoBlog the 2nd highest number of referrals? How many of you out there are in that long thread about the compression ratio on the LS6 in your 1971 Vette? It has to be a shit ton of MGoBloggers in that thread then.
|13 hours 31 min ago||I Will Say...||
I will say this - it would not shock me if a less-endowed university from one of the P5 conferences decided to propose legislation to the NCAA which would make future trips like this one difficult, at least in theory. Whether or not you could come up with something that could be enforced and not be utterly silly on its face is another matter.
|13 hours 49 min ago||The New Arena...||
This, and now apparently Paul McCartney will be there on October 1st at the new LCA. They really meant what they say about utilizing this place to the fullest, so it will be interesting to see Michigan hoops play a game in here too.
I can't wait for the first time this arena is overbooked and some concert AND hockey are attempting to go at the same time. It could be your only chance to see your least favorite pop act checked into the boards.

Yeah, but sometimes it goes too far, the stupid headlines...
|1 day 4 hours ago||What This Means...||
What this means is that the SEC will immediately move to get a ban on any football practices held inside Italian shopping centers. The proposed legislation will also include any place considered a World Heritage Site as well.

Oh, I don't know.....
I, for one, welcome our new Drupal overlords. After all, they can't see us and it will be easy to escape in the ensuing confusion.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Akron...||
Part of doesn't necessarily want to face an Akron team that is good enough to get to a National Championship game, but then I realize that it will be roughly 2560 by the time that this happens and I will have been dead for nearly 500 years at this point and I wouldn't be in a position to fret about it.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Many Years Ago...||
Many years ago, yes, and we also visited Naples and ended up being as intrigued and in awe of that city as we were Rome. Also, we ended up on a tour of the ruins of Pompeii and on one of the tours they give of the caldera of Vesuvius. Being on an active volcano was actually really fun...and a a little frightening.

Can anyone else see this? On my end, the board looks like it always has, but I am seeing what looks like the same issue that we had once before where replies became threads for some reason. Anyone else seeing symptoms of that as well?
|2 days 1 hour ago||All I Can Say Is...||
All I can say is that this is remodeling in the way those of us who have older homes which we could remodel, but then the "I still need a place to sleep and eat" instinct always seems to take over. If nothing else, this is a Shoney's and if they give you permission to destroy...well....who would refuse?

I tend to fish on a purely opportunistic basis. That being said, one of the advanatages of working for a company with a lot of facilities along or near Lake Erie is walleye fishing - I've only been out once this year yet, not on my own boat and not with my own equipment, but between all of us, we managed to get most of a cooler full of decent-sized walleye.
|2 days 10 hours ago||If I Had To Choose...||
Well, if I had to choose, I'll go with Beef Wellington with some grilled asparagus or in-season vegetables and a nice spinach salad with crumbled Bleu cheese and French dressing. As a twist, I will ask for a wine which I know is nearly impossible to get in the area so I can put off the whole dying thing as long as possible.
|2 days 14 hours ago||As I Recall...||
As I recall, she did have sporadic roles after "Joanie Loves Chachi", but mainly as a guest star on episodes of various shows throughout the 90s and into the early 2000s. Supposedly, she said in interviews that severe depression kept her from landing more substantial work, and I think that the reason she eventually moved to Indiana was to assist with her mother-in-law, whose health was failing.
56 is way too young.

I was actually kind of curious about which sites the team will see as well, even though I won't be in Rome this week. Actually, I rather wonder if Harbaugh has any plans at the site of the Circus Maximus in particular - drills or something. Running drills on that site and in the Colosseum would be a Harbaugh thing to do, I would think. Still very jealous that they get a week in the "urbs aeterna" and I don't.
|3 days 2 hours ago||About The Bowl Victory...||
I don't know that the victory over Florida is the most meaningful or favorite really, but it is the first era of the Harbaugh victory I saw after I was allowed to come home from the hospital after my little viral scare (well, another week and I would have been in deep shit, so they told me). It was a great way to take one's mind off what had been a less than ideal - often scary - previous 10 days.
|3 days 2 hours ago||You Know....||
I've always wanted to be a successful vintner in my own little fantasies - I love wine, I've studied wine in my spare time and if it were possible to just go to town, I would get myself a vineyard, bottle my own brand "Sinister" (so named as I am left-handed) and make a modest living doing that.
|3 days 8 hours ago||Indeed...||
Indeed, although Ann Arbor has one hell of backyard if it extends all the way out to Kent County. Point taken all the same, of course.
Same hometown as Joe Staley (Rockford), as I recall.
|3 days 8 hours ago||You Know...||
You know, they rather do think this. It's very hard to reconcile their view of that university and that city with what both actually are. Indeed, if once in a while someone took their newborn to the Linebacker Lounge to be baptized with a pitcher of Molson by Rudy Ruettiger, I really wouldn't be shocked at all.
|3 days 11 hours ago||I Will Admit...||
I will admit, I had to read that comment twice because I was sure I was reading it wrong and no one could possibly mean that or do that even if I read it right.
Turns out that I read it correctly.

The two that I am working on right now are "Into The Badlands" and I am filling in the late 3rd season gap that I experienced with "The Blacklist", which is consequently helping me understand the fourth season that much better.
Netflix also recently brought back "Fawlty Towers", which I would recommend to anyone anywhere even if the series is now 40 years old, because John Cleese at his best, IMHO.
|4 days 1 hour ago||You Know...Actually...||
Actually, beginning sometime in mid-August, we might begin with a Friday Night Mediation thread because there always seem to be diametrically opposed and unreasonably maintained positions and takes which begin to fly all over the place and there should be a place where they are properly mediated.
|4 days 4 hours ago||Very Cool Indeed...||
This is another example of Jim Harbaugh having that extra gear that allows him to do it just a bit better than everyone else - and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course. I think this is actually really cool indeed.
I will echo the sentiment of someone above though - if you're there and want to mail something back home to show people you were there, mail it from the Vatican, not across the way in Rome.
|4 days 8 hours ago||About That...||
If you ask the people at the house diagonally across from mine, 4/20 is about three times a week plus a weekend day of their choosing. It's usually pretty harmless unless the wind is blowing from a vaguely easterly direction, then we just close the windows on the side of the house.
