I used to goto games in Hartford when I was in middle school. I just remember a really dim arena with a sedate crowd. I grew up going to games in Philly and it was such a different experience.
Their arena was on the other side of town than their fan base in a town with bad traffic. In a town with a ton of transplants that did not grow up with the team, it was a bad combo. Personally, I wouldn't go to games regularly if it required a one-way commute of 60 or 90 minutes. They have developed the infrastructure to have a team on the ground level, but it never worked out due to horrible management (see youth hockey, ASU having a college team, etc.).
SLC makes since since they have a young owner with stupid money to burn, but I wish they went to Austin, personally.

They are going to be at such a competitive disadvantage in all sports they have to at least try. The gap is only going to widen over time. If you aspire to achieve a natty in any sport once the schools start paying players, you have to figure out a way to leave.

Also, they have some dirt on the conference to indicate the ACC did not act in the schools best interests (chiefly the commissioner giving games to Raycom which his kid ran and was the only P5 providing inventory to a regional channel and the poor advice/negotiation for the ACC deal).
It is one thing to have kids and they have trouble. It is whole other level when you hire your troublesome kids and watch them kill themselves or nearly kill others. I don't have the time to dig up stories 10+ years old, but Reid knew about his son's heroin addiction and still brought him into the team. From what I recall (I'm a life-long Eagles fan), he had two sons go into rehab multiple times. Then, while one was still hooked he hired him in the S&C role. A couple months later he was dead. If that is not overlooking issues, then I don't know what is. Every other executive in America would be fired if they displayed the same degree of recklessness.
Just among the sons he has directly employed, one OD'd during training camp while working as a S&C assistant. Another is currently in jail for for a DUI that left a 5 year old in a coma for weeks.
I wouldn't characterize them as alleged. From receiving a campus ban as a student to a DUI to being a coordinator for a team that rivaled Baylor in sexual assault there is a bunch of baggage. Not to mention, Andy Reid has a long history of overlooking problematic behavior (see his sons as exhibit A).
I used to bring kids we were recruiting there all the time. All I had to do was challenge a kid to a 40 race and everyone lit with joy. We even brought kids into the old press box frequently.
I did my grad work at UCLA. They still get very good attendance for basketball (although, it is a late arriving crowd). The crowds for the olympic sports are better than your typical college in my experience. The new subway connecting campus to other parts of the city will likely help too. The problem is football attendance and I don't see that changing unless an earthquake destroys half of westwood and they can get land for cheap. One other thing to note is that UCLA was largely a commuter campus through the 90s, so their on campus culture is still kind of weirdly quiet.
All depends on his coordinators. If he gets a pair of good ones, I could see this working. If not, it is more of a placeholder hire until their finances get into shape and a new chancellor is appointed. I am curious to what his assistant budget is.

There is no bar in the immediate area (although, there will likely be outside concessions). It is literally in the middle of a golf course, which is surrounded by neighborhoods. My suggestion would be to gather at one of the UM bars in the area if you don't have a ticket.

And that does not include the wait for an Uber. It is a holiday, so I wouldn't worry too much about the typical LA traffic, however. If I were you, I would I grab that last flight out from LAX, which should give you plenty of time. Also, I would just rent a car.
