Likely Insider Betting connected to the CFP Committee Meetings

As others pointed out

Florida State has been the heavy favorite for the final spot in the CFP with odds of -350 to -400 vs +125 for Bama (Georgia was and remains a long shot) on FanDuel and DraftKings.

In the last couple of hours, the odds are shifting towards Bama.  FSU is now approx -160 and Bama is now approx -115 and they are tweaking by the minute.

Across sports, this kind of last minute shift in odds toward the actual result leads to an investigation, in this case, of the betters and everyone that had access to the meetings.  Insider betting is illegal.  The next step is usually to announce an investigation and check text, phone, and email records.  Or, is the CFP able to bury this?

This has to be the biggest scandal in college football. /s

Is it safe to put FSU in without their starting QB? I mean, the backup got a concussion. Maybe just force them to be ineligible for bowl games -- for player safety. Think of the children.

If FanDuel and DraftKings want to place odds on something where people have true insider information --- well, that seems ridiculous to me.

But they must make $$$ on it.  They also put up odds on WWE!

This year was grimy. I don't see why people can't both admit that, sure, you probably want to play FSU over Bama but FSU was also totally boned.

It's a stain on the sport and the message it sends is both disgusting and will not go away with a 12 team playoff. That doesn't solve the problem of the message the committee just sent.

If they didn't want the process to be corrupt, they would have more discretely defined criteria and less reliance on subjective committee members' feelz. I mean, a vibes-based selection process is a recipe for soliciting lobbying/influence/bribes. It's not a flaw, it's a feature.
