Mostly a shot in the dark, but I know he spend lots of years in Cleveland... just curious? |

In the post? I'm surprised. I think Channing needs a gerund related nickname. |
| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Glyph - App that tells you what's best for you based on habits |
There's a Detroit-based (soon to be Ann Arbor-based) startup that built an app and website that peruses your spending history and tells you what card would be best for you. Beyond that, every time you're about to make a payment, it will tell you which of your pre-entered credit cards will maximize your rewards. Disclosure... a good friend is one of the co-founders. But seriously, I highly recommend, and so have Fortune, Tech Crunch, etc.

| 15 weeks 20 hours ago | Any refs out there? - when a shot goes up... |
Re: the Ravenel goaltend... when a shot goes up, what do the refs look at? I think the priority is to watch what's going on under the basket rather than actually watching the ball and the hoop. That being said, there are 3 of them in college, is one of them (maybe the one in the backcourt?) supposed to watch the hoop while the other two focus on contact between players? |
| 16 weeks 1 day ago | Opponent's Center? |
This is really cool, great work. I wonder if Morgan is more frequently going up against an opponent's top center while McGary might be playing against a backup more often. Could be a part of the difference - i.e., Morgan is 'less better' than the top center and McGary is 'more better' than the backups? |

WHAT IF DENARD THREW ALL THOSE INTERCEPTIONS TO MAKE SURE MANTI BECAME EXTRA FAMOUS BECAUSE HE KNEW THE TRUTH AND WANTED IT TO BE EXPOSED |
| 18 weeks 5 days ago | Love these posts |
Keep em coming! I know little about football Xs and Os and learn a ton from this blog/comments. I know more about hoops and love the opportunity to chime in a little here! |
| 18 weeks 5 days ago | Setting up the screen |
Part of the reason #15 (guarding Burke) fights over the screen well is that Burks didn't do enough to set it up. In a perfect world, Burke & McGary should rub shoulders when Burke passes the screen, not allowing any room for the defender to fight through. It's basically impossible to get this to happen, but there are a few feet between Burke & McGary when Burke goes around the screen. If Burke takes another dribble toward the hoop before he dribbles left around the screen, #15 will have a harder time fighting over McGary. Setting up the screen falls more to Burke than the screener because the screener can't be moving as long (or else it's a foul). So the dribbler needs to be work toward the hoop (in this case) before taking a sharp angle past the shoulder of the screener to optimize the chances for the dribbler to get a shot off. That being said, Burke getting a shot off is only one option - on this play, Burke seems to be thinking #1 look for Stauskas's cut and #2 wait for the re-screen. Just my two cents, I love how the offense has many layers and Burke et al work through them and find great shots. |

Anyone watched a game there? I just moved to the neighborhood and am planning on checking it out Saturday. Good place? Advice on how early to get there? Thanks. |

I don't know much about HS softball, but am curious what the other two hotbeds of softball talent are (with SoCal being one).
Anyone know? |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | Darboh, Chesson & Braden |
Darboh and Chesson because of their incredible stories.
Braden because he was first (I think?) |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | U-M vs CMU 2 games prior to that... |
that was my freshman year, when I was one of what seemed like 12 season-ticket holders. The low point to me was the game vs Central Mich that made us 0-5. Chris Kaman had 30 pts and 21 rbs and their PF had 28 and 9. That freshman class (Horton, Brown, Abram, Hunter) may never have quite met expectations but I think really moved the program along from a super low point...
