NEW Season Ticket Holder - POSBANG

Submitted by cweerapp on

Grew up about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor and still remember my first game when I was 6 at the Big House where Tim Biakabutuka ran for 313 against OSU. Always dreamt of going to U of M from that moment on and could not wait to be able to attend the games each weekend. Moved to Austin post graduation but made it a priority to come back to Ann Arbor during football season. Today I can finally do that without scouring stubhub each Friday night. Here's to everyone else in my shoes, and holding on to these bad boys for the next 50 years!

Now we just implore you to stand up every second you are in the stadium, cheer your ass off, and make the Big House an intimidating environment to play in every Saturday!

I wonder if it's not just UM fans but fans from Michigan in general that have a problem with standing. I was at the Wings/Wild game where their playoff streak was still in doubt with 2-3 games to go. We were 4 rows off the glass to the right of the box. It was toward the end of the game when shit was getting chippy with a 1 goal lead. There was a face off coming and in the lull between we were all standing, along with most of the folks around us. 2 dudes behind us in their forties all decked out in Wings attire kept asking people to sit down. I never looked back aftewards to see if they stood during play. It's not like there was a 10 minute lull. It was maybe a minute at most while the players got set and the refs were skating around acting busy like they do. Weird shit, man.

I stand basically the entire game. Then again, I am driving  600 miles from Nashville so I feel as if I have deserved it at that point. There is no way in hell I am sitting a majority of my time in Michigan Stadium. It feels wrong, and I will not do it no matter what the people behind me think.

you find M fans for the ones you don't use. don't be a douchebag and just put them on stub hub for Sparty, Bucknut or some other non UM fan to buy.

I am also joining the ranks!  Stoked to finally be able to make it to the Big House every fall Saturday, and even more stoked to take my son to games as he grows up.   I just wish they would let me get more than 2!  Go Blue!!

Doesn't it take like 15 years after getting on the list to finally get them? That's the only reason I haven't done it. Too impatient.

I just buy them off of stubhub

Back when I got mine (2011), there were a lot of folks who were getting rid of their season tickets (team not doing so hot, prices increasing, PSD, etc...). For a donation (couple of hundred bucks) you were almost guaranteed tickets. I can't imagine the situation is the same with Harbaugh at the helm.

First-time season ticket holder here too. Like you, I would be on stub hub every week getting tickets, but not anymore. The season can't get here soon enough!

Congrats. I too was very excited to finally become a season ticket holder after graduation. I graduated in May 1998 and was wait listed (remember wait lists?) until 2001. I jumped at the chance to have my own pair even though I was off to chapel hill for grad school. I kept my tix until hoke's last season even though I spent two falls in NC, two in Chicago, and 7 in Los Angeles. My only falls in Michigan were 2003/2004.

Sounds like you plan to keep yours forever. I planned on that as well until I moved back to California from Chicago and Hoke was sinking the ship. Not sure if I will get a full season again, but I still get to about one home and away game each year.

Enjoy, go blue.

Glad to be a season ticket holder again for the first time since being a student 10 years ago; excited to make the trip from Chicago a few times this year and pass off other tickets to deserving M fans the weeks we can't make it!

I'm right there with you! Excited to get my tickets in the mail ahead of time instead of the day before the game, and allow our group of 6 to hopefully all sit together.

Our family had three and we were on the old waiting list for almost 12 years (my wife is alum) for more.  When the new system came out we donated a few hundred buck and she had enough points to get three more.  The direction this program is taking  will make them tougher to get again.  Now is the time to get them even it if means making a minimum donation. Good luck and enjoy!!!!!
