Who cares? I bet Obama himself saw the picture and got a chuckle out of it.

I'm not his biggest fan, but it wasn't his record that was the main cause of the issues currently. He was 7-5 in his last season and those players then turned in 11-2 in Hoke's first season. He is considered to be a better coach than Hoke at this point, so maybe the bigger picture does matter.

I'm looking forward to this because I'd like to see who the first quarterback drafted is. That should be a good indicator of what's to come for the season, barring anything outstanding occurring.

I'll take that bet. I usually make the third shot when I start slinging them from half court.

I had a coach that suspended me for four games for the returning a day late from my future father-in-law's funeral at Arlington. This is pretty tame. People need to stop freaking out.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||My conclusion is that on this||
My conclusion is that on this list, two athletes have won a super bowl in the past few years. One of them is slow and the other is fast. Think now of the top five quarterbacks in football right now, I'll say they are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers. 5.3, 4.8, 4.83, and 4.71. What I see is a group of average runners. Maybe in the future the faster guys will have a bigger impact on the NFL, but the only two fast quarterbacks to have a huge degree of success so far are Russell Wilson (who is not a statistical marvel, he is an elusive but excellent game manager) and Andrew Luck, who is a pocket passer first. Ultimately, the throwing quarterbacks are the better quarterbacks, regardless of how fast they are.

I just think people are getting overly enamored with speed and it's not necessary. People can rave that you can't teach speed, which may be true, but RGIII is the perfect example of what happens when speed is the underlying factor to the success of a quarterback. Surely we can agree that Denard was not a great quarterback. Would you rather have a fast guy that can throw, or a thrower that can run? 4.9 for a guy that's been touted as the more NFL polished than the guy with blazing speed behind a one-dimensional offense is not terrible, and Winston has great pocket awareness. I don't think either prospect is a slam dunk but all the same, the 40yd isn't going to be the definer of this particular draft pick. In fact, I'd bet that Winston gets drafted higher than Mariota.

2008: Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Chad Henne, Matt Flynn. 4.89, 4.84, 4.92, 4.79. Joe Flacco is the only one with a ring.

Since when has the quality of a QB been their 40 time? Tom Brady ran a 5.28.

As an athletic institution, maybe. Would we lose more games? Initially. Would we lose more money? No.
|9 weeks 3 days ago||First, this doesn't apply to||
First, this doesn't apply to football. The NFL already saw to that. Second, why is this such a big deal? They are student athletes on scholarship. Besides, when was the last time Michigan had a one-and-done player? Beilein already knows he isn't getting those guys. He gets the development projects and turns them into lottery picks. I don't think this would cripple the B1G, I think it would set a precedent and force the NBA to change their stupid rule.

Removing the cap on football scholarships means being aware of the fact that the NCAA then has to allocate more scholarships to women's sports so they don't run into Title IX issues...

|11 weeks 4 days ago||On the flip side, if you are||
On the flip side, if you are a professional with an impeccable resume and your company is going through turmoil that might affect your job, would it not be in your best interest to look around? What if you knew that your new boss might clean house? Do you stick around and hope for the best or do you do what's right by you and your family? Football IS a business decision at the DI level, and don't be naive about committing to a University over a coaching staff. If that was the case, coaches wouldn't be sports recruiters, academic advisors would be. That's ludicrous. We applaud kids for sticking with commitments, but how can we fault them for weighing their options when the next four years of their lives will revolve around their football participation in order to keep their scholarships and get an education? Get off your horse, this is a teenager that is weighing multiple "job" offers and he will take the one that is the best fit for HIS future, not your moral high ground as a fan.

People are asking him to talk, but every time he tries to talk, the media twists and wrings out every double-meaning they can without bothering to follow up or respect any semblance of privacy he is trying to maintain. We have the attention spans of squirrels and we latch onto sound bites without the entire context, but he decides to not talk and the media is still trying to bury him. I don't really blame him for that.

Honestly I don't think he's thought about the end of his career yet. He doesn't think about it yet because in his mind, he will play forever. Let's wait until Father Time decides to force him to hang up his cleats, give him a while to discuss it with his family, and then check back.
