Didn't something similar happen with Jerry Kill at Minnesota a while ago? This will probably have the same general response. People care for a little while (or pretend to), then forget about it.

Haha haven't seen this picture before. Slide that bag into a pitcher, hold top two corners and bang pitcher on counter a couple times to make sure bag goes all the way down. Fucking hate when you start pouring and bag folds over edge of the pitcher and way too much milk is poured and spills. Hate spilt milk.

We had milk in a bag in elementary school because it was supposed to be cheaper for everyone, but the only way to open it was to stab it with a straw to drink. Didn't take long for us to realize if we didn't put our thumb over the top of the straw the milk shot out the top. Lunch time quickly became a geyser show until the school switched back. Good times.

He's been tweeting for over 6 hours now. He's definitely not holding anything back. Sounds a little more than just sour grapes to me, but I doubt any punishment will come down on Beckman unless some more players come forward as well.

This is the same coaching staff who set up shop at Penn State right after the Sandusky-related NCAA sanctions were imposed. As far as antics go, I wouldn't put anything past Beckman.

...these particular claims. The days of the NCAA serving as their stand-in parents need to end. The NCAA represents too many interest to be a strong advocate for the players. And that's saying nothing of the NCAA's antiquated views on amateurism.

I tried to read through some tweets but gave up.  Where is the mistreatment?  Beckman is trying (and failing) to turn that program around, and players may not agree with his techniques but unless there is actual physical abuse I'm pretty sure this goes on all over the country.

My favorite tweet of the bunch

What the strange thing to me is why in the world they extended Beckman's contract. The guy is a complete loser and has done nothing, literally nothing, to deserve an extension.

But hey, if Illinois wants to continue to kill their program, go right ahead. Another easy win on the schedule as long as Beckman is there.

There was never much of a program to kill. Illinois has almost always been bad.

My guess is that they just didn't have many better options than Beckman to replace him with, and if they got rid of him, who would do a better job. Any coach worth his salt would be able to go to a far better program than Illinois. But he won't survive another 6-7 type of year.

Yeah a handful of tweets in he started to sound more like Alex Jones. Was there neglect by the coaches in regards to his injury? Probably, but every coach asks their players to play through pain. Is Illinois doing something shady? Maybe, but he needs to tone down his accusations and declarations before he loses public credibility and gets swept under the rug as some disgruntled, mentally-troubled former player.

Also the injury he is complaining about is a torn meniscus. You can perform at full capacity with a torn meniscus. The surgery is just cleaning it up, not repairing it. I played with multiple guys who played whole seasons with meniscus issues. Cmon kid, do you really think you are some exploited victim of athletic department and NCAA greed? It sounds like coaches got fed up with him complaining about an injury that other people play through. If he hated it so much he had the option to leave, plain and simple.

It's so sad when players like Simon are "mad" because a coach made him work hard at practice or called him a "pussy". Football is a mans sport and if hard work and a coach yelling at you is too much than that is pathetic and you don't deserve to play the game. Grow up and be a damn man. People in our country are truly becoming soft skinned and weaker as the years go by. What's this guy going to do when a boss yells at him for messing something up in the "real" world? Cry and put on a 6 hours bitchfit on Twitter? If I was an employer and heard of this so called man attacking his coach like he has I would never hire him. If you have a problem you sit down face to face with that person and work it out, you don't act like a child and cry to the public on Twitter. Football is not a game for the weak minded people and Simon has proven to be one of those people.

I played football in high school and when I say played I mean practiced, ran sprints, and lifted weights. After the game on Friday even if I didn't play I still showered. Why was that?  Because I looked like I played from the diving I did on the ground to get my pants a little dirty.
