Guess the play that wins the game

Submitted by GVSUGoBlue on
This is a way for us to pass the time as it's a slow morning on the board. Guess the play that wins the game tomorrow. I think a Wilton Speight scramble on 3rd and goal late in the 3rd quarter ends with a Td catch for Jake Butt to go up 28-21. Michigan never looks back and wins 35-21. What do you think is the game-clinching play? Try to be as specific as possible. What quarter, what's the score, who are the involved players?

gets in, but it is enough for the score.

Peppers, Lewis, and the rest of the D will continue to pound the Badgers.  The crowd will yell, 'ooooh" with each big hit. Gary will keep trying to smack the quarterback until he gets the sack.

Chesson and Hill will pile into defenders, and Smith will jam it down their throats.

Their hands will be all over Darboh when he takes them deep.

Clearly, it's football porn.

Okay.  I'm going with:

Peppers does well on an early return, and Wisconsin starts punting away from him.  Bad weather conditions lead to a few directional punts winding up as very short punts out of bounds, so they go back to him in the 4th quarter with Michigan up by 4 and he breaks one off for a touchdown to give Michigan its final 11 point margin of victory.

Michigan's first TD, which will be a #ButtDown special in the back of the endzone. Wisconsin won't eclipse 3 points on the day.

EDIT (for specifics): It will be our 3rd drive of the game, near the end of the 1st quarter. Going towards the student section. We'll come out in the Ace with Chesson and Darboh wide on opposite sides of the field, with Butt on the line. It's 2nd and Goal from the 4 yard line. The drive began on the UM 42 after a great Peppers punt return where he dodges 5 guys en route to a modest 12 yard gain. Michigan slogged through the drizzle and wind with a good combo of quick strikes and chunk yardage runs from the likes of Higdon and Smith. The sun will shine breifly on Butt as he catches a bullet to the chest from Speight. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but that's a tight window! The crowd erupts, The Victors plays, and we all dance.

Wisconsin runs an attempted play action pass to the tight end deep in their own territory. QB can't find the tight end, gets sacked in the end zone for a safety. Michigan wins 2-0.

1st Quarter, Hill takes a FB dive in from the 2 yard line. We never let Wisconsin score, so the first score is the one that wins the game.

Undefeated, ranked Big Ten opponent making some noise after an upset of a team nobody expected them to beat early in the season in an ugly, frightening game. They come into the Big House and get their doors blown off after an opening kickoff TD return gives UM all the margin they'll need to win the game?

I've already seen this move.

I liked it a lot, so let's watch it again.

I think our second TD is the game winner. they won't score into double digits. to be specific, I'll say Jake Butt on a throw from Speight that's over 10 yards out.

Harbaugh lines up under Harbaugh in a 2 Harbaugh set.

Harbaugh takes the snap, fakes a handoff to Harbaugh then throws a beautiful Harbaugh to a wide open Harbaugh streaking down the sidelines.

Harbaugh thows a crushing block to allow
Harbaugh to dive into the endzone for a game winning Harbaugh!

Harbaugh then goes for a 2pt Harbaugh just to rub it in.

Wisconsin is down by 8 points at their own 45 yard line.  They are forced into a 4th down play with 0:37 on the clock.  QB scrambles and throws down the west sideline, where it is intercepted by Lewis.  Michigan takes over with 0:24 on the clock and takes a knee for the win.

0-0 with 4 seconds to play.  Speight and O'Korn have been injured earlier in the game.  Shane Morris is in at QB and for some reason has been running the triple option for the better part of a quarter, puzzling both fans and coaches.  We have it 4th and 26 from our own 4.  Morris takes the snap, fakes taking a knee, then hits McDoom in the flat with lots of room.  McDoom halls ass for like 70 yards before being tripped by a player on the Wisconsin side line.  Before going down, he pitches the ball back to Kyle Kalis who has somehow kept pace on the play.  Kalis side steps a would be tackler only to be tripped, inadvertently, by the referee.  Before he goes down, he fumbles, and the ball is picked up Ben Gideon who was in the game on offense for completely unexplained reasons.  Gideon marches into the endzone for the game winning touchdown.
