Your Unpopular Food Opinions

Submitted by MeanJoe07 on

What are your unpopular food opinions?  I've never had a bowl of chilli that I liked, tacos are overrated and I like kale.  Also, do you think there have been too many "Your unpopular opinions" threads today?  If so, did this one put it over the edge of too redundant or did it happen earlier?  Also, do you think there have been too many "Your unpopular opinions" threads today?

Seconded, wholeheartedly.  Probably been years since I had ketchup.

Cheeseburgers (real ones, not gross mcdonalds burgers) are better with nothing on it.

French fries are better plain or dipped in hot sauce

Hot dogs need mustard

Don't even get me started on the eggs with ketchup folks.

Can't think of anything else that people would normally eat with ketchup but its safe to say I wouldn't

Is medium rare with a little Montreal seasoning and sharp cheddar.  Add red onion and a couple pickle slices with Dijon.  Put the works between toasted slices of thick sourdough.

Disagree. I actually used to think it was overrated as well, but then tried some of the random appetizers and other items on the menu. They are fantastic.

However, the restaurant next door, Isalita, is the biggest scam in Ann Arbor. Mediocre food that comes in terribly small portions and still ends up being like $30 per head with drinks.

Italian food is all the same thing just re-wrapped. Good but very overrated.

Westerners wouldn't know what to do with a fish if it hit them in the head and landed right on the skillet.

Italian food varies greatly from region to region. If you are going to a non-regional specific Italian restaurants, most of the items are going to be similar. However, if you go to a restaurant that specializes in Piemontese food and a restaurant that specializes in Puglian food, they will not have a ton of ingredients in common.

Its a shame a lot of people cant cook different types of fish properly. A cursory internet search will teach you how to cook anything from skate to salmon with decent success after a try or two.
