A Win Tomorrow will Cause me to ___, but a Loss will Cause me to___.

For me, the answers are:

-Get entirely too optimistic about how the rest of the season plays out. Even if we look just so-so and win, I will become convinced this is a "special team of destiny."

-Mostly tune-out - or tune way down - until maybe Wisconsin, when, with any luck, we are 5-1, ranked again, and in position to win a huge game and get some momentum for the murderers row portion of our schedule...

If we play like shit and win, I’ll be happy but it won’t change my outlook on the season too much. I’ll celebrate and drink heavily.

If we play well and win, I’ll irrationally assume we are a playoff-bound team, and I’ll probably share that opinion on this here blog (and drink heavily).

If we lose but play well, I’ll be bummed but will probably rationalize a lot of positives about the game. I’ll check out MGo to read the perspectives and drink heavily.

if we play like shit and lose, yeesh. I’ll definitely take a few weeks off, hang with the Mrs., and focus on the NFL (and drink heavily)

A loss will cause me to swear off watching UM football forever and ever. A win will ease my conscience for ignoring the last time I swore off UM football for all eternity (right after the SC bowl game).

For me, a win would make me very happy indeed. I'd likely commit to cleaning the garage on Sunday, even -- and cheerfully do so.

A loss would bum me out, and I'd likely be a little mopey on Sunday. However, I think that would be forgotten (at least mostly) by the following Friday, when I'll be journeying northward to Ann Arbor for Saturday's game. The first Saturday at Michigan Stadium is one of my favorite days of the year, and a loss to ND the previous week isn't going to change that.

Win:  Cackle with glee

Lose:  I have way too many Sparty friends, so I’ll never hear lthe end of it, because after all, they know our roster better than their own

...be happy for my blue brethren.

...remind my blue brethren that they have their superior ethics to bask in.

-take a small, measured and careful dose of optimism for the season ahead and calibrate my expectation a tiny bit higher

-take the cautious, medium amount of optimism I currently have for the season and calibrate it somewhat lower and start to manage my expectations for the upcoming games............and drink a more.

Win will cause me to: cheer loudly in a room full of strangers and order another beer.

Loss will cause me to: swear loudly in a room full of strangers and order another shot of whiskey.

A win will make me feel happy.  A close loss, I will still be optimistic about our chances to still win the conference. A blowout loss will get me depressed knowing we will probably lose @ MSU, @ OSU and possibly a tough home game with WI or some other surprised upset for a 7 win season.

-Be very happy and cautiously optimistic for the season (unless there are big red flags)

-Be very sad, ruin my weekend, and have me cautiously optimistic for the season (unless there are big red flags)

This is like Match Game. I'll say a win will cause me to relax and a loss will cause me to give up on humanity. Richard Dawson, what say you?

For me it depends how the game goes; a victory wont cause me to feel anymore hyped because it’s not MSU, osu, PSU, or Wisconsin. A loss? Depends how it goes; if it’s ugly, turnover filled game or the offense looks bad, I’ll be very disappointed but still will believe they can get shit together.

Win: Start thinking of 10-2 or 9-3 as a possibility. Start defending this win as actually big and just early season hype like previous ND wins.

Loss: Not get on MGo for a couple weeks at minimum. Defend Harbaugh to the trolls. Attempt to emotionally detach myself from the rest of the season.

Win: Nod knowingly, looking for a slow build to a great year.

Loss: Think back to being in SLC for Harbaugh's first game at Michigan.

Win: build a spreadsheet model to figure out whether we are going to be playing Alabama or Clemson in the NCG.

Loss:  wail in agony, then go hunting for a Leprechaun to beat up.  And then, chortle knowing I will have the last laugh after Stanford ruins their season in heartbreaking fashion.  Again. I will never get tired of that.  Oh wait that's USC's job this year.  That's ok, they're up for it.

p.s. Just bought some stuff in the mgloblog store; hope others do likewise and get some more funds flowing in to support the site.
