Will Campbell back to Defense
Tweet from Adam Rittenberg. Sounds like BH thinks he can coach him up.

He looks eroded in that picture
January 14th, 2011 at 1:59 PM ^
he looks like he is melting.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:10 PM ^
His neck is muffin topping. Slightly.

Get ready to bust in the NFL JB
January 14th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
Poster child for NOT buying your dress shirts at WalMart. Get measured man, just get measured.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:16 PM ^
Does this mean we will be playing 4 man fronts?
January 14th, 2011 at 1:17 PM ^
and let him gain 40 pounds whilst he's at it
January 14th, 2011 at 1:18 PM ^
...can get some quality PT out of Big Will it will be a huge boost to this team. It was one of the things that really hurt RichRod.
How about Q and Will in the middle against bama in 2012? They could turn that game for us if they develop.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
that's a really long time from now
January 14th, 2011 at 3:47 PM ^
...And after the capital one bowl it seems even closer.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:21 PM ^
Campbell at NT. Wrecking ball. Collision.
Opposing Quarterback: "Ouch. Did anyone get the license on that freight...hey, the sky from down here in Michigan Stadium looks remarkably blue. Hello little birdies...what are you're names? My God, it's full of stars!"
January 14th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:26 PM ^
How did you get an advance copy of Anthony Morelli's memoirs!?
January 14th, 2011 at 1:22 PM ^
It will be interesting to see how this works out. This is a good test to see how good Hoke is at developing D-linemen (at least compared to RR).
January 14th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
Whatever allows Campbell the best ability to succeed. Hopefully he is able to make an impact like many thought he would have.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
I sure wish he would have redshirted.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
Maybe Hoke just fundamentals (yes, I'm using that as a verb) the hell out of him while he redshirts this year and then he can become something resembling a force at defensive tackle as a redshirt junior.
I'm not exactly holding out hope that it'll happen, but it seems plausible and might be the best way to get two productive years out of Campbell.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:55 PM ^
If Campbell can't crack the regular rotation, he should absolutely redshirt. I think as a general rule, any player who isn't needed and has a redshirt year available should redshirt whether he's a freshman or a senior.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:30 PM ^
Nick Saban and Les Miles think that avenue is for pussies.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:32 PM ^
gotta give him some love for being all about the team and hanging in there.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:29 PM ^
While I like this move, it means that we absolutely HAVE to keep our OL commits and get Chris Bryant and/or another OL in this class.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
coaching the DL we'll see a lot of improvement there. Big Will should benefit - and I think Hoke is the kind of guy that can motivate someone like him.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:34 PM ^
A good move. If Hoke can develop him into the player we all hoped he would be it will prove to be genius and add some much needed size to the DL. RR did make a good move by redshirting Ash and the bigger of the 2 Talbott's (can't remeber who's who) so hopefully our D-line will have some playmakers for the next couple of years.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:02 PM ^
Terry Talbott-D Line
Terrence Talbott-Corner
January 14th, 2011 at 2:25 PM ^
once they both get on the field together. -NC Talbott and -Y Talbott? Or save some letters and go with the obvious: Big T and L'il T?
January 14th, 2011 at 2:33 PM ^
I think we'll be able to tell them apart just fine.
January 14th, 2011 at 3:20 PM ^
Let's just use their first names.
January 14th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
Terry will be TY. TALBOTT. Terrance will be either TN. TALBOTT or TC. TALBOTT.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:36 PM ^
Like the idea of Campbell and Washington next to each other in a four man front for 2012 - 2013 and having more time behind Mike Martin will only help. Runstoppers.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
this is crazy quick to make this sort of call...IMO...maybe quick is what Campbell wants and the team needs though...who is Hoke listening to in making this move?...what film is he looking at? I thought Campbell to OL and Q to DL was a great move. This is interesting.
January 14th, 2011 at 1:50 PM ^
With a 4 man front of Roh, Martin, Big Will, and RVB. That makes me very happy.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:03 PM ^
Either Campbell is going to make it on the DL, or is not going make it. I don't think he was at serious risk of playing major minutes on the OL.
January 14th, 2011 at 2:20 PM ^
As in pad level. No more standing straight up and getting pushed around by smaller OL. Get low and SMASH!
January 14th, 2011 at 2:48 PM ^
I'd like our D Line to perform like LSU's vs TAM or Auburn's vs Oregon. Those guys looked like they were shot out of a cannon.
January 14th, 2011 at 3:38 PM ^
If there is one thing Hoke knows it's D-line. Campbell will be a run stuffer.
January 14th, 2011 at 3:49 PM ^
Probably a good move. BH could get something out of him.....
January 14th, 2011 at 3:55 PM ^
....coming out of high school but apparently he wasn't good enough for play for our "sort of" defense.....i'm sure BH knows what he's doing by putting him back on D. WC, MM, RVB, CR and JB could form a much better line next year.
January 14th, 2011 at 3:57 PM ^
Hopefully Hoke can coach up Campbell so he can receive playing time next year
January 14th, 2011 at 4:19 PM ^
Would love to see us have a Detroit Lions-type defense: an awesome D-line that makes up for a below average secondary. If anyone can get us there, it's a former Dline coach
January 14th, 2011 at 6:00 PM ^
.....I was growing weary of players being moved to offense when they clearly belonged on the other side of the ball. If Rodriguez had been allowed, the whole team would have been on the O-line.
January 14th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
Brady Hoke having coached d-lineman at Michigan already,i think BIG WILL will finaly live up to the hype.GO BLUE!!!
