I remember thinking Dave Brandon’s fireworks idea was very dumb and likely still is, but having them on hand to set off after a big home OSU win would’ve been excellent last year; the only time they’d be acceptable. Tennessee’s fireworks at Neyland after the Bama game were pretty cool. I also went for the field goal posts like the Tennessee fans but U-M police clearly didn’t want us to have that much fun

The song's theme, the lyrics are so positive and uplifting, aren't they? /s

"Lyrically, "Mr. Brightside" depicts a true story of Flowers' jealousy and paranoia when he walked into a bar in Las Vegas and found his girlfriend cheating on him."

Let's all go wallow in some misery, shall we? 😉

I love that everyone gets together for it and seems to enjoy themselves but I cannot get behind a song about getting cheated on and somehow glorifying it.  Idk good time to go get snacks when they play it I guess.

Some Detroit musicians I googled: Eminem, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, The White Stripes, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and the Temptations.

Surely, one of these talented artists/bands has a catchy theme song that everyone in the stadium knows and could sing along to. Eminem and The White Stripes are of the 2000’s era.

I like music of all generations, I just don’t quite get why this is now the Michigan Stadium theme song?

Speaking of Motown, although they met at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, the Commodores signed with Motown in 1972 and in 1985 (after Lionel Ritchie had left the group) had a hit with a song that might be appropriate for a night game at The Big House during what's now known as HBCU Month.

That might take a lot of tweaking, but with creative tweaking (far more than I can offer), it could lead to occasional twerking in the stands.

Ow, in The Big House
Wolverines just might be lettin' it all hang out
In The Big House
This team’s stacked and that's a fact
Ain't holding nothing back

Jeez...I get having a song to get people excited and pumped up is great. I also love The Killers, and the song in general is pretty good. But.....this needs to go away. Terrible song choice for a football venue.
