Who will start, and will there be lemons?

Submitted by BornInA2 on

We're all poised at the citrus tables of our local grocery stores awaiting the predictions of who will start from the board prognosticai/intelligentsia, and also word on which variety of citrus will be consumed if which player doesn't start against Utah next week. I'm betting on Morris. And limes.

Bring it.

From being at the scrimmage myself, I can't imagine there being a QB competition whatsoever. The difference between Morris and Rudock was so far, there's really no debate. Rudock had amazing presence and calmness in the pocket that was followed by a ball thrown with very good touch. He made all the throws. His 20 yard TD pass to D. Harris was extremely impressive mainly because D. Hill was pretty much hovering over Harris' back the entire way. All the while Shane was throwing cannons on slants and short throws (which were never caught) and freaking out in the pocket with the slightest bit of pressure. Rudock was much better than I imagined and I can't wait to see what he can do at Utah and during the rest of the season.

Can't start my own topic so replying here.  I live in Salt Lake and have two extra tickets for the game.  Prefer to sell them to Michigan fans.  Tickets are toward the top of the stadium in the corner.  Sec E31, Row 58 Seats 3-4.  I am selling for $225 a piece which is what I paid for them.  If you are interested shoot me a text at 801.472.6041.  If I don't sell them here in the next day or two I will put them up on the local classifieds.

If that is what you paid for them, you must be rather excited about 2.5 hours of college football.

For that much money, I could get a night filled with paper bags, a case of spray paint, and five strippers that work the lunch shift (PS they do butt stuff).

It's nuts that people are still holding out hope on Morris. I imagine these are the same people that waited 4 years for Kevin Grady to have his breakout season! At some point you need to take a step back and accept that he's not the dominant QB the recruiting sites led you to believe. Hopefully he can evolve into a competent backup should Rudock or O'Korn go down but based on everything we've seen he has work to do before he even reaches that level. I wish it were the other way guys. But it isn't.

Seems like running back, boundary CB, and FG kicker are the only genuine position battles taking place. I'm not confident enough to put fruit on it, but I think Isaac and Lyons will win the first two. No idea on PK.

Jake starts at QB. DeVeon starts at RB. Lyons does not start but comes in as a sub. I'm thinking the starters for the "student scrimmage" are the ones who get the nod for Utah. The most exciting thing about the lineups to me is that the OL isn't shuffling around every three minutes. This staff is actually letting them get used to how they interact with each other, and they understand that these kids need to gel to become a cohesive unit.
