If it keeps the student section more than half full during 2nd Half blowouts, I’m all for it. Two fold might get them into the stadium earlier than 11:58 for noon kickoffs but they’ll probably be stuck waiting in concession lines before kickoff anyways.
Not ideal, but crucial point for the program now. Ideally it's Jadyn Davis coming in and taking over after that. Next Man Up philosophy and trusting the coaching staff to get the job done.
Do we have the heirs clearly waiting, right away? Maybe not right now. But every elite program loses R1 talent and reloads. Time for Michigan to be in that category.
While I don't disagree, his positional value in the NFL is incredibly low so it makes sense to go as soon as possible, especially coming off an injury, I'm sick of the narrative that he was "run into the ground". I fail to see the argument around mileage and how another year would be such a terrible idea. He's projected in the 4th Round right now. I think coming back and having another great year could easily bump him into R2/R3. Is he going Round 1 ever? Absolutely not, there's maybe 1 back per year that someone takes in the first and teams are increasingly figuring out that it's not a good investment.
Let's look at the mileage argument though. He has 417 career carries (26 in 2020, 144 in 2021, 247 in 2022). Compared to other tier 1 backs the past few years, its extremely low.
JK Dobbins: 725 carries in 3 years
Ettiene: 686 in 4 years
Breece Hall: 718 in 3 years
Barkley: 671 in 3 years
Zeke: 592 in 3 years
Bijan: 539 in 2.5 years (covid year)
I just don't think the argument of mileage if he returns for another year and gets 240 carries is really that relevant. Returning, having a great season while getting big NIL money and being a top player in college seems like a pretty strong option. No link, but I thought I heard Balas said he gave UM a target $$ number to come back.
Blame ABC for this. Game was over the 3 hour mark with about 10 minutes to play. Ridiculous amount of TV timeouts. Pair that with freezing weather and to be frank, a pretty boring game against a team trotting out their 3rd string QB and an interim head coach. Kind of makes sense…
Why are the official social accounts not directly tweeting/posting about this? For the Maize out they went all out in promoting it on social media. This is going to look half assed. Wish they would've just stayed consistent and done an official Maize Out...
Caleb Williams was #7 overall on 247 in the country in his class. Rattler was #11 in his.
Have not heard the rumors about the boosters, just the fans being upset with Rattler to the point where they were chanting for Williams and booing Rattler.
Just for some context. It’s not like they put in some back up walk-on. He was a premier recruit that came in and lit it up.
Looks like he pulled 5 top 100 guys in the secondary during the 2018/2019 cycles. Much needed help in that department. Also strong ties to the state of Texas where OSU has really taken off lately on the recruiting front.
How about Auburn paying $21M for Malzahn to go away? They have the 13th highest revenue. As others have stated, UM has the resources to throw around as much money as they want.
Edit: I should add "as much money as they want... IF they want to win".
Do you have sources? His Ex works in my office and said there was a pretty ugly rumor about a bar incident... But that's about as unreliable as sources get.
This is not really about Ford vs Clark. This is scheme move. The Chiefs are switching to a 4-3 from a 3-4 this year and Ford has never played in a 4-3. The more interesting comparison is that they essentially traded a 1st, 2nd and a Top Tier Edge FA (Trey Flowers) for Frank Clark.
Not sure if/how this affects the recovery time, but saw a picture of him on Snapchat coming out of surgery. He has a hard cast half way up to his elbow.
Don't see why a late 2nd round projection on him is that out of question? While I loved his career at UM and think he was phenomenal, he is undersized and raw in coverage, as TDN explains. Also, fwiw Solak has him going #42 in his mock, which is why I said big board vs mock.
If you're looking for some solid draft analysis and not people fishing for clicks, check out the guys over at TheDraftNetwork.com. Particularly Ben Solak. He's got some excellent write-ups.
Disappointing but not that suprised. When asked he said he did something dumb and there was a lot leading up to it. I automatically associated that with frustrations from the game.
Probably worth noting that this happened very close to the osu game. I saw him the following Monday and he didn't really want to talk about it, but my feeling was that it may have happened in the the locker room out of frustration.
Talked to him in class, he got his cast off Tuesday. He had surgery soon after and he broke 3 fingers, dislocated a knuckle and tore a ligament in his index finger on his right hand. He said he won't be playing in the bowl game, unfortunately. Go Blue!
Keep trashing the best hitter in the game and one of the most enjoyable players to watch in the league. The guy is going to go down as one of the greatest players in Tiger history and has played through countless injuries. He never wants to be out of the lineup. If that's not being a leader, I dont know what is.
I know Dombrowski has nothing to give, but what're the chances? If they really want to "win now" a significant move needs to be made. Ilitch is running out of time faster than he's running out of money.
It's still early, give it some time and let the winter meetings pan out. Outfield and Rotation are both set now so DD can move his focus to the BP. Did you miss the report of talks between the Tigers and Sergio Romo?
Yeah, agreed with Walton, Spike, Levert, Irvin, Doyle NEXT game. But really who knows after that, weren't we all just raving about the Beilfeldt "coming out party" last week. Take it game by game, like we know our beloved Beilein wiill. The only thing that matters is our lineup come March, worthless thread.

Understand your point but with a demoralizing loss the UM game does become a “MUST” win. (Not that both aren’t already must wins for them).
fwiw I will be rooting for PSU.
Same boat here. I can almost never get the site to load at all on Chrome or Safari from my phone.
Tej is a great follow if you’re into analytics. Also think he just graduated from UM in the last year.

Go Blue - Beat TCU
Looking at TCUs run D, pretty likely.
Bring in Chuck Pagano
They already pulled the plug on the $8/mo checkmark.
Brandon Brown said on Twitter he got leg whipped

It also would looking nothing like this, unless we’re planning to paint everyone’s face/body Blue in the stadium…?

Google Eduardo Rodriguez. Red Sox ace.

Hasn't someone already posted the Chris Fowler tweet this week?

Looks like it is Gameday.
This. When zeke came back from his holdout the line literally did not move. went from -7 (-105) to -7 (-110).
I believe it's actually "bitch" not "dick" at the end of the You Suck chant
I had friends say they saw about 8 police officers near a drone with flashlights out on the golf course towards the end of the game.
For the croots! Kids love night games. Quit being an old fart.
Emmanuel Mudiay went and played in China for a year and got $1.2M plus an Under Armour deal. Can't blame these kids at all for doing this.
how about we add Michael Jordan to the list as well
Tell that to Penny Hardaway at Memphis

Here's his top 100:

Gary at #42, Bush at #59 and Chase at #68.
Remember, this is a big board, not a mock.
He didn't even attend The Game if I remember correctly... Visited OSU a few days prior but did not attend The Game.
Not trying to troll you, but this is a poor argument.
What's better than #2 overall?
#1... Which happens to be from the school we're recruiting against for ZH.
Try Reddit. R/cfbstreams I believe is the page. Should be able to find a stream and click through the popups to get it to play.
FWIW Walterfootball gets zero respect among the Draft/Scout community. Would take this with a grain of salt.

Saw this at Meijer (Ann Arbor) about 3 or 4 weeks ago
