Now you're the third to recommend it. I guess The Jim Beam Black was a poor choice.
Then again, it was tasty and I am boozed, so....

I'd just like to say that I am extremely happy that I can fully participate in this conversation this semester. Last semester, I had an 8:00 am Saturday morning class, so whenever I saw one of these "Friday night drinking threads" I would always be so jealous of you guys and your care free Friday nights as I thought about my class the next morning.
The only thing we have in the house is Blue Light, so I'm drinking Blue Light. Go Blue!

Jim Tressel dinks wine coolers
January 21st, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
Though I can't figure out where that came from:
1. OSU does suck
2. Tressel is a dink
3. He does drink wine coolers
So despite the randomness, +1!

He just handed that one to the board on a silver platter.

I will personally neg you as much as possible.
IF I rememeber any of this.
Wow... I haven't been this drunk in ages. Last time I was this drunk was the honeymoon, cruise, dinner at the "Murano". We ordered the chef's meal, whatever it was callled. Seven selections EACH with a specially paired wine. Wife couldn't drink but half of hers. I had 12.5 glasses of wine. I was MESSED up.

Now working on splitting a bottle of Cupcake Cabernet Sauvignon with the GF.
For any wine drinkers the "Cupcake" Label is a pretty good mid-label wine. It's $8-13 depending on the sale, and it's a great wine for the value. My favorite that they make is the Petite Syrah.
Have a good weekend all

But I brought back a bottle of Noel de Calabaza from Michigan...and I think that will grace my dinner table on Monday when I can imbibe again. I am digging the Jolly Pumpkin brews. For the folks who were trying the Bell's Oarsman, isn't that their first run at a sour mash?

Mentally drinking the 6-pack of Fat Tire waiting for me at the apt.
January 21st, 2011 at 11:39 PM ^
Fat Tire is a good choice. Can't get that out here, but had a chance to try it once when I was out West. When I drink local, I have to settle for Allagash...oh the horrors!

Currently finishing the bottom of the bottling bucket for my latest homebrew, a vanilla caramel cream ale.
SO. GOOD.
It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Not an every-day drinker, but it's going to be a nice change-of-pace beer for the next couple of months.
For those homebrewers among us, the recipe can be found at:

I brought back six packs of Cerveza Panama, Soberana, Atlas, and Balboa from Panama last summer just for this winter when the weather got cold. The taste is okay, but the memories it brings back. Like the $450 tab that 3 of us ran up in 3 hours at Le Palace. Cerveza, Seco and lap dances from gorgeous Panamanian and Colombian women. That's as good as it gets.

back and forth between beer, wine and various brands of hard alcohol.......don't see anyway this strategy can backfire.
