Who's getting the Nod

Submitted by CombatVET22 on
We all know that Brady is all about competition as far as starters goes, and he will play the best at that position no matter what year their in... But who do y'all really see getting the Nod as far as the 2012 recruiting class is concerned starting next season??

Unlike most football blogs, people who post here appreciate correct spelling, punctuation and the proper use of the English language. For example, "your" is a possessive adjective that describes something that belongs to you (i.e. your cat, your dog, your poor grasp of the English language).  "You're" on the other hand, is short for "you are".  You managed to screw that up twice in a 50 word post.  If you at least make an effort, people will go easier on you

Brian was asked this same question on the liveblog, gave his thoughts, and half the board rolled out their opinion. But just for future reference, typically the board likes to see more analysis put into a post, or link to another story on the topic. So here you could have said "these are the guys I think will be starting...", and then give some original thoughts on why. Or post a link from Rivals or Scout on the same topic. The "2 deep" discussion is something that people bring up often, so frequent posters on the blog have seen it many times. If your post is going to discuss this topic, there should be an attempt at adding something new

AJ WIlliams may not be listed as a starter, but I think the gaping hole that is the TE depth chart sees him playing in game 1 if we get in any 2 TE sets. I think Pipkins also plays in the first game as part of the DL rotation.

Later in the year, Pipkins could end up listed as a starter.  Bolden's on campus early, so if he can play the WLB position, he'll definitely be in the discussion later in the year.  Kalis could get a start later in the year if we see any injuries to the OL.

The entire 2012  class will be starting week one.  With the power of the 2012 class we will go out and beat bama in a blowout manner, most likely by 50-60 points.  This win will catapult the team, led by all freshmen, to an undefeated season and MNC by defeating the rejuvenated Rich Rod led Arizona Wildcats in a defensive battle 5-3.  Brady Hoke will hoist the trophy and then set it down and while being interviewed by Tim Brando take a giant steaming golden crap on his shoe.

We are in for a long summer of kids proving themselves.. We do need to temper out expectations for this class.. Exciting about it being hokes own class but our seniors are going to get as many snaps as possible and they should... As far as ppl giving you shit.. Who cares, alot of whiney sensitive tools on any board.. If it offends them so much, their life priorities are seriously out of tune.. We are here to talk football and not every post will be that of sports columnist strength..Do whatever you want man

I'm very confused by the double punctuation. I can see one period; I can see three (elipses) but two? What is this?

Anyways, to follow up on your post, here's some advice for the OP: It's a lot easier and pleasant to read a post that contains proper spelling and punctuation. I know that's harder to do on an iPhone than it is on a computer, but it's worth taking the time to do it right. As far as content goes, it's best to contribute something to the board when you start a thread. This includes things like 1) asking questions that no one has asked before (which doesn't apply in your case; use the search feature to find these things out before you post), 2) Giving your unique or interesting opinion on an issue, complete with a cogent or compelling line of reasoning, or 3) Post things that people haven't seen before, like breaking news or interesting stories.

To the other posters here: Let's not jump down the OP's throat. If you want him to stop doing things that annoy you (using poor grammar, creating pointless threads), then just inform him that he's doing something wrong. He'll learn and hopefully become a solid contributor to the board.

if pipkins starts it wont be till the later half of the season. Don't forget we still have a few other DL schollies on the roster that we havn't seen much of, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them can maintain a starting spot for much of the year. Similar to how none of us really knew/talked about heininger before the season but look at the impact he had. This coaching staff is good, that is all

The only issue I have with this article is having Ben Braden as "in the mix". Don't get me wrong, I love Braden's athleticism and upside, and think he is vastly underrated, but I believe that he needs a redshirt to work on technique (as most freshman olinemen do). Kalis is probably the only incoming o lineman who could play next year, IMHO

This is quite bold, but I predict that Pipkins, Bolden, and Kalis all start in Jerrytown.  I don't think that Bolden will show that he's already better than Morgan from day one.  Also, there will be a gaping hole at left guard after Barnum moves to center (my speculation) for Kalis to fill.
