Beat Northwestern and MSU on the 17th and then I will feel like Harbaugh picked up the earth and got it spinning on it's axis again. These last 8 years have been tough!

To be fair to Hoke, he did knock off OSU in 2011 and MSU in 2012.

ESPN has NW 2nd, MSU 3rd, Iowa 4th, M 5th. I figure the next two weeks will fix that right up.

As beatable as MSU has looked, and as good as Michigan has looked (at least on defense), I'm still super hesitant to say that we're a better team than State until we get a chance to prove it on October 17th.
Perhaps that's a remnant of a few years' worth of cynicism.

Our passing game leaves a lot to be desired and it won't be a cakewalk if we want to take advantage of MSU's dinged up secondary. Our strength on O is running the ball (kinda) and MSU's definitive strength is their D-line. Not necessarily ideal matchups when we're on O and they're on D.

even with their injuries, msu still has a solid Oline and the best QB in the conference. it will be difficult to win that game with our struggling passing game.
needless to say, these next two weeks are huge. Go Blue!

MSU's D strength (front 7) is still matched up vs UM's "strength". MSU's D weakness (back 4) is still matched up vs UM's weakness.
So it's still a tough matchup on that side of the ball.
I am more comfortable with our D vs their O esp with the OL injuries and the fact MSU doesnt have a lot of guys to exploit some of our weaknesses i.e. LB sideline range.
MSU - like every team - is going to stuff the box, and they are good at it (that's what she said), and it's going to be up to the QB to punish them for it.

Without Tom Herman, that offense is not looking too hot. Tom Herman will not be in Houston for long....who knows, maybe another Texas school might be a calling.....

I am not too worried about MSU. We finally have a better coaching staff, which goes a long way in college football. We're beating MSU, assuming we are not missing a lot of starters.
Yes, injuries to key players are a valid excuse; to me, that is. There are depth charts for a reason.

continuing to fly under the radar for now. Although, some national media people are starting to hype us up. If we can win the next two weeks, THEN I'll really jump onto the B10 Championship Train. The last two weeks have made me very encouraged, but this is the part of the schedule where Michigan must prove themselves to be a contender. And I think we can definitely do it.

The Buckeyes have MD, PSU, Rutgers, Minn, IL...no real contenders until MSU and MIchigan at the very end.
