Beat Northwestern and MSU on the 17th and then I will feel like Harbaugh picked up the earth and got it spinning on it's axis again.  These last 8 years have been tough!

As beatable as MSU has looked, and as good as Michigan has looked (at least on defense), I'm still super hesitant to say that we're a better team than State until we get a chance to prove it on October 17th.

Perhaps that's a remnant of a few years' worth of cynicism.

Cool was the best QB in the conference but he's that by default only now. He's not having a good season at all. I've watched their games. He plugged a Purdue D back in the numbers on his own twenty sat. If the player would have caught it they lose that game and become the first victory for Purdue over a D1 school. The team is not good, sorry to say but it's true.

Yeah until the second half when they start giving up hundreds of yards. Their D line is good but they give up massive plays, like a few sixty yard runs to teams like Air Force and Purdue. Air Force got destroyed by navy last weekend and CMU and western are mid tier MAC. We will be the first real, good team they have played and the first real, road game. We win by two touchdowns.

MSU's D strength (front 7) is still matched up vs UM's "strength".  MSU's D weakness (back 4) is still matched up vs UM's weakness.

So it's still a tough matchup on that side of the ball.

I am more comfortable with our D vs their O esp with the OL injuries and the fact MSU doesnt have a lot of guys to exploit some of our weaknesses i.e. LB sideline range.

MSU - like every team - is going to stuff the box, and they are good at it (that's what she said), and it's going to be up to the QB to punish them for it.

Without Tom Herman, that offense is not looking too hot. Tom Herman will not be in Houston for long....who knows, maybe another Texas school might be a calling.....

Did the following song pop into anyone else's head after reading this post? No? Okay.

Houston
Houston means that I'm a one day closer to you
Oh, honey, Houston
Houston means the last day of the tour and we're through

Well honey, you and God in heaven above
Know I love what I do for a livin', I do
Ah, but Houston
Houston means that I'm one day closer to you

Yeah, singin' at the world's biggest rodeo show
Was a great time for me and the guys
Ah, but when I'm a way from you, honey
Time always never flies

And sleepin' all alone in that holiday hotel
Sure makes a cowboy blue
But here I am in Houston
An' I'm one day closer to you

Houston
Houston means that I'm a one day closer to you
Aw honey, Houston
Houston means the last day of tour and we're through

Well honey, you and God in heaven above
Know I love what I do for a livin', I do
Ah, but Houston
Houston means that I'm one day closer to you

Yeah Houston
Houston means that I'm a one day closer to you
Aw honey, Houston
Houston means the last day of the tour and we're through

Well honey, you and God in heaven above
Know I love what I do for a livin', I do
Ah, but Houston
Houston means that I'm one day closer to you
Yeah honey, Houston
Houston means that I'm one day closer to you

I am not too worried about MSU. We finally have a better coaching staff, which goes a long way in college football. We're beating MSU, assuming we are not missing a lot of starters.

Yes, injuries to key players are a valid excuse; to me, that is. There are depth charts for a reason.

I'm not trying to get ahead of myself but IF we can knock of NU and MSU, well the talk will go from "can we compete for the B1G?" to competing for a playoff spot.

continuing to fly under the radar for now.   Although, some national media people are starting to hype us up.  If we can win the next two weeks, THEN I'll really jump onto the B10 Championship Train.   The last two weeks have made me very encouraged, but this is the part of the schedule where Michigan must prove themselves to be a contender.  And I think we can definitely do it.
