Week 2 matchups

Submitted by Duval Wolverine on

Week2 matchups do not appear to be as intriguing as last week but there are some decent games!  Which non Michigan game are you most excited to see this weekend?

I'm conflicted about this. On one hand, I always like seeing Penn State get humiliated. OTOH, I am hoping Franklin can hang on there as long as possible and really deepen their pit of mediocrity so that the next coach won't have an easy time climbing out of it. Winning or losing to Pitt could be a pretty significant game in terms of Franklin's status if he ends the year around the 5-7 win range. Narduzzi is kind of a jerkwad anyway. And then Penn State is on M's schedule so having Penn State win ticks up the value of that game to us as well.

Has some unique name to it. "Rivalry week," "Revenge week," etc...

Looking at the matchups, this week could be dubbed Garbage week, s***bowl week, ballsack week, etc...

Basically none of the top 25 matchups have any intrigue. Maybe Tenn vs V Tech?

Take a Nap Week,  Go to a Picnic with the In-laws week,   .....

there are no matchups that are very interesting for me this week.   I will watch the Michigan game then proceed to a Family Reunion on my wife's side of the family.   It will probably be far more entertaining then any of this weeks matchups.

The one thing you can be sure of this early in the season (when many teams are still overrated and underrated) is that there will be a few 4th quarter scares for a handful of ranked teams and hopefully even an upset or three.

Every one is forgetting Texas Tech @ ASU, or as I like to call, it the dust bowl. Come on down and watch your boy pipkins. Get some Patrick Mahomes as a bonus. Enjoy, kliff on the sideline; second only to Harbaugh. I'll teach you how to get your guns up.

Games that interest me are:

Michigan of course #1

PSU vs Pitt - I would enjoy watching Pitt take PSU apart although the B1G probably wouldn't benefit from that!

Oklahoma State vs CMU - CMU alumni so yeah....

Western vs Illinois - Heard about this team from Illinois wondering what they look like!

Washington vs Idaho - more curiosity about Washington a PAC12 up and comer

TCU vs Arkansas - Want to see #Bertfail

TN vs VT - #ButchKarma - Hoping for a VT win here!

Oregon vs Virginia - #BradyHoke curiosity

PSU vs Pitt. I wish this wasn't at noon since I'll be at the Big House.

TCU vs Arkansas (Wooo Pig Berty)

El Assico

I was going to put Oregon/Virginia in there, too but somehow I missed that UVA lost to Richmond (?!?) last week? Ouch.

Just doesn't compute with me. I don't understand why they can't put a good football team together. It's a massive university, in a pretty solid recruiting spot (not too far from any major area of high school talent.)

They are just... never... good. I don't get it.

The 1995 team that M beat on the last play of the first game of the 1995 season had the Barber brothers (Tiki & Ronde) and was ranked in the top-25 all season.  That was the first ACC team to defeat Florida State (FSU didn't lose a conference game for like 5 years after they joined).

Current UVA student here. Football here has been atrocious for a long time, and there was a lot of tangible excitement here on Grounds for the first game of Bronco's tenure. It was an embarrassing performance, especially for all the hope and hype that was building around the community for this season.

Penn State and Pitt would have been nice to see but it's the same time as our game.

I hope TCU scores 100 on Burt. Tennessee/Virginia Tech might be good. But the rest of the games are blah. I don't see myself tuning in unless there's an upset alert.

First off, VT v Tenn because it's looking like the best game of the weekend.

Iowa v Iowa St because rivalries.

CMU vs Okie St because I love to root for all Michigan based MAC teams.

Nevada v ND because to hell with ND and I hope they lose at home.

Arkansas v TCU because it could actually be a decent game.

Western v Illini because go Kalamazoo.

Because CFB is carnage, there will probably be a big upset or two that ruins somebody's season.

I would say hopefully it's Nevada beating ND... but THANKS TEXASSSSSS.

Won't even be able to watch the UCF game due to family commitments, but if there's a week of football to miss, seems like this is the one to miss.

Looking forward to seeing Oklahoma destroy OSU next week.

Is going to give Wisconsin a battle. Coming off a massive improvement from 2014 to 2015, beat Utah State in their bowl game, and a QB that put up some gaudy numbers in week 1.

After a huge win against LSU, I expect Wisconsin to come out sleepy and I still don't trust that offense whatsoever.

They'll cover 24 with ease. It's going to be close.
