Today's recruiting roundup is definitely worth a listen...very interested in tomorrow's as well (OL recruiting will be addressed including Big Mike).

I agree. I can ignore recruiting until the season is over. Then it is really the only content out there. I wish I could not follow it. This class has been exhausting to follow and figure out how we are going to fit all these guys in.

Protip: stop trying to figure it out and let the coaches handle it.

For perspective's sake, I always recommend going back and reading a front page post from December 2008. (Dark, dark days, man).
The post is titled "Beaver Gone. To Conference USA." In that post, and the comments that follow, the board loses it's collective mind over Shavodrick Beaver de-committing and going to Tulsa. We had already "lost" Kevin Newsome to Penn State, and now we had lost our number 1 QB recruit. We all moaned about how we were left to go after some kid in Florida with a funny name who the Urban Meyer-lead Gators did not even want as a QB. It was the end of the world.
But it all worked out pretty, gosh-darn OK.
I am not trying to compare Newsome or Beaver to Gary, or Denard to anyone. I am just saying that crootin' ain't always what it seems to be.

It "all worked out"?
Only if you are not a Michigan fan! Imean, unless "it all worked out" means the team was so stinking bad for several years we now have Jim Harbaugh.

Yeah but can't we dream of a player named Shavodrick Denard from down the swamps, who races jackrabbits and rassles gators until they jump in the pot themselves?!
He was raised on #Eating and bleeds Blue, and he and all his 7 younger brothers (who according to a former M assistant are just like Shavodrick but "big, strong and fast!") want only to play for Coach Harbaugh and beat that guy who left Fla in the lurch with "heart problems" and "to spend time with his family"

Please do dream all the dreams you wish. Just don't light your hair on fire when you wake up. It will all be OK.

That post is interesting considering the other targets RR had... Tajh Boyd (great), Geno Smith (great), Denard (great)
Maybe we got lucky with Beaver choosing to go to Tulsa instead.

There was some speculation that Rich Rob engineered the move to Tulsa. He had some connection to the staff there. That may be revisionist recruiting history.

better and better. I'm happy to ride it out a little longer.

Not me, I love this stuff.
It's fun and interesting and is damn sure important for the program.
Basketball and Hockey have not reached that March fever pitch yet. What else do we have to do on a cold winter's January?
Plus, we're getting good at it.

We can file this as news that doesn't suck.

Never did I think that having 23 commits on Jan 19 would still leave room for all this excitment.

I agree, Sam's gut feeling was easy to digest today.

Back-to-back-to-back con calls this morning and I don't get a break until 1:00. But I do have time to comment.
PS - great news on Dwumfour!

You just made me bust out laughing in the office. You trot out a gem like this, and only have 285 points since 2009?

January 19th, 2016 at 3:47 PM ^
Oh come on now, don't be a Dwumass. This nonsense is going to go on for 4.5 more years. With any luck, he gets redshirted his freshman year then injured after the first game of his second year, and I will still be doing this in 2022! :-D

Just another day at the office for this coaching staff...
January 19th, 2016 at 12:34 PM ^
amazing(!) how is that man standing in the background upside down in flippers!?
January 19th, 2016 at 1:07 PM ^
If I understand what I'm looking at, the guy standing upside down in flippers is actually just standing there like normal and the women walking are walking upside down underwater

Were we hoping to get Gary without Drumfour? Or do we want Drumfour on his own?
If he lands us Gary its worth it but it'd be disapointing to use a valuable spot on a guy just to land Gary.
