Uniformz: Michigan unveils jersey for outdoor game

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Didn't see this posted but they unveiled this during the broadcast of Michigan's upset victory over #9 Minnesota that finished up about 20 minutes ago.

Here it is. I'm not really sure. I'm probably going to get it, but it isn't a throwback. They have worn something similar to this, but they never wore a jersey with the 1922-1967 logo in it.

This, absolutely. The worst part is that Michigan gave up a home game to play in a 3/5 empty Soldier Field.

The greatest rivalry in college hockey, between two teams from MI, is going to played in Illinois....

I'm getting tired of outdoor hockey as a whole. It would be cool once every 4 years, but it's becoming a yearly thing now. Soon we're gonna run out of places to play the games at.

BUT........if they insist, may I suggest coming to the new Utica Stadium in my hometown?

Yes I know I had a home game stolen away from my season tix. The explanation from Lochdogg was that they want to play outdoor every four years so any kid who attends michigan can play outdoors (which is great).
Had no response for me when I asked what kid who's played a game at Michigan didn't have a chance to play outdoors seeing as they played GLI at CoPa last year (only kids who played in WJC and or injured/scratched didn't).

Although this is not related to this thread per se, supposedly this stadium is on its way to becoming a thing. The rumor mill at work said that the work orders to set up the service for this are called in as of a few weeks ago. No idea on when it will happen, but a semipro stadium in the area could be fun, in my opinion. Last I heard, there wasn't really a firm commitment from one team, but more an agreement that various teams would play some games in it.

Yes. A 2,200-seat collegiate summer league baseball stadium is going to be built right off of Auburn Road near downtown Utica.

That gray track in the background surrounds the field where I played junior high school football. Beyond excited for this. Finally will give us something to do in the summer because as you know, there ain't shit in the 586.

Absolutely right, Canadian.

So here is a stat for everybody to ponder:  between last season (13/14), this season (14/15) and next season (15/16), there will be a minimum of 14 games between Michigan and Michigan State.  Of those 14, only 3 will be in Yost.  That's 21 percent.

3 in Yost, 5 in Munn, 4 in Joe Louis, 1 in Comerica and 1 in Soldier Field.

Enough is enough.  I don't mind giving up 1 game every other year to play in Joe Louis--that's a 20-year tradition, and the players like it.  But moving home conference games to Chicago?  Let's hope this is the last time something like that happens.

WD< just because Harbaugh is here doesn't mean you can get soft and slack..  People are beating you to clothing trends sometimes hours in advance.  Unless you are balancing 7 chicks vs your normal 4, I don't see a good excuse for your recent performance.

If I wore this it would look so effin ridiculous.  When dude in bottom photo wears this, knowing he can punch holes thru cement walls, it looks solid.

But anything that reminds me of bumblebees brings a bad reaction.

As of late, I've decided to buy something only if I really, really, really need to get it.

This due to the adidas contract ending soon. I'm waiting to see what happens there.

For example, I'm buying the throwback uniform Michigan is wearing tomorrow when I stop at the MDen inside Crisler before the game. But other than special one-time jerseys or championship gear, I'm going to wait and see what comes of the adidas contract.

If Football gets a new home and away set this year, I'm going to wait it out with the adidas contract. That decision will be coming sooner than later because the 2015-16 year is the final in this current contract with adidas.

And no, I still have my old Nike stuff that fits. I won't even have to buy a new Blue hat if they switch to Nike. I'll just pull out my old one that I have in storage.

Eh, in some instances.

Swear to God, I was offered a job at their Novi location without even asking for one. Couldn't take it because, while it is the closest one to me, it isn't exactly a short driving distance.

Novi store doesn't hold a candle to the main one on campus that has 2 stories. I spend a lot of time just doing laps in there looking at all the stuff in awe. Same with Ken Magee's A2 Sports Memorabilia.

Well, at least they sometimes give you a deal then.

As far as I'm aware (but not fully aware), MDen is privately owned but has a contract with the Athletic Department, so not sure how much influence the AD has on what they sell, prices, etc. But I doubt Dave Brandon would have liked the idea of giving anybody a discount if it were up to him.

MDen is independent from the university in terms of what they sell.

BrandOn threw a hissy fit when MDen sold 3&Out copies, apparently. They didn't give in.

This probably because they are the only widely-known Michigan shop. The AD tried doing a one-year deal with that shitty cookie cutter company from Texas that branded their Michigan store as MGoBlueShop, an online-only store, and tried to pass it off as the official retailer.

Which was dumb because everyone knows MDen who is a Michigan fan.
