UCLA Coach Jim Mora deletes Twitter Account

Submitted by DrWolverine23 on

Title says it all. Mora just deleted his Twitter account 30 minutes ago, leading a lot to believe he's headed to the NFL.

This would be HUGE, 5 Star QB Josh Rosen could possibly come (Edit: Westwood brings up that Rosen is an EE so this would be a longshot at best. Got too excited).

But 5 Star LB KLS, and Chris Clark would be heavy favorites to land at MIchigan.

So cue speculation, hope Mora just got himself a NFL job. Those three recruits would build momentum for the class.

If we land just two of those three that would be huge for Harbaugh's first year.

This issue came up when Kiffin/Orgeron left Tennessee and tried to lure EE recruits to USC:

Former Tennessee recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron has contacted multiple UT mid-term enrollees and encouraged them not to attend class today so that they can easily leave UT and enroll at Southern California, multiple sources told the Knoxville News Sentinel today... By attending class today, the nine mid-term enrollees, who have been at UT since Monday, would have to follow strict transfer rules, which include sitting out a year.

UCLA's winter quarter classes begin on Jan. 5, so Rosen presumably is still free to transfer.

Rosen already enrolled at UCLA. Mora probably deleted his Twitter account b/c of the fallout from the handshake fiasco with Bill Snyder at the end of the Alamo Bowl.

After the game amidst all the uproar of people thinking he disrespected Bill Snyder, Mora tweeted something about always defending the safety of his players... Apparently he was upset at the KSU defense for playing physically while UCLA was in victory formation kneeling the ball.

I really don't think Mora is leaving UCLA, think it was just the UCLA PR department overreacting to a tweet posted in haste that essentially called college footballs nice grandpa a dirty coach. Mora looks dumb for calling Snyder dirty and UCLA knows it's a bad look for the program so they deleted the tweet and account. My bet is It'll be back up in a day or two with an apology to Coach Snyder.

The game was still within 1 TD at the end when UCLA got in victory formation. Then one of the KSU safeties hopped over the Oline into Hundley. This got Mora really fucking pissed. So when he goes to shake Snyder's hand he goes "What the fuck was that about?" and storms off. Apparently Snyder didn't authorize it. Knowing Snyder's integrity, it is prolly true.

He later tweeted that he would do anything to protect his players and that he talked to Coach Snyder about it later.

The first run, Mora didn't even go to Snyder to shake hand and talk... The 2nd run was when Mora was talking to Snyder... I wrote on the sbnation log that KSU has the full right to do legally to get to the ball.. Mora would talk about player safety don't have much to say when his players were called for personal foul and unsportsmanlike conduct (I believe 5 times in total for the game)... Just stupid of him...

Ian Rapoport is reporting Mora is headed to UM as the Raiders are negotiating to land Jim Harbaugh.  Tune in to SportsCenter for further details.

They just won't give up...

I think there may be some smoke here, as far as him leaving. It would help us with Clark and KLS. But Rosen isn't coming. Let's get excited about the local kid with a winning pedigree who never wavered from his Michigan commitment when he had every reason to reconsider.

I think because in many people's minds Morris' physical abilities are superior accross the board, especially arm stength. So theoretically, Morris as a higher ceiling, and one that is worth getting excited about if he pans out. But, Malzone is BALLER (thanks coach), and I agree he's been overlooked to some degree.
