Tom VH Tweet: Knight's coach at Rutgers just left

Submitted by WanderingWolve on
Per Tom VH's tweet, I found this out. I've searched a few places and haven't seen who this is. I'm assuming it's Knight's primary recruiter not Shiano. Any info?

as you might think. I think Parker is in no matter what Knight does. I think Knight is 80% ours. But the surprise of the season might be Dorsey. With or without Dorsey, I am impressed with the total effort by the coaching staff. Go Blue!

But after watching highlights of all three, I do not like the way Dorsey tackles, I saw a lot of diving at legs(not squaring up and running his feet through the tackle). It is possible that his highlight film I watched wasn't indicative of how he tackles normally. I would say each of them have strengths and weaknesses and I would be equally happy with any of them, but most happy with all of them.

Neon Deion was a terrible tackler as well, but he was a dynamic playmaker in so many other ways. I see Dorsey as cut from the same cloth. At the end of the day I think Dorsey picks either FSU or USC, but here's to hoping he gives us a pleasant surprise next week.

What other fan base is going to show you so much love? Have Rutgers blog writers been calling Knight or have their fans send friendly Facebook messages to them? Probably not. I went to a Rutgers game this year. Terrible fan base. It was cold and rainly and only 2/3 of the fans showed up for a game against rival West Virginia who was ranked. Most of the fans left, and after half there was like 15,000 or so left in the entire stadium. Both teams were having good years and were fighting for a better bowl. That would never happen at Michigan.

I agree that we have a very dedicated fan base, but I don't see how it would sound appealing to have thousands of fans sending you Facebook messages every day or why someone would like blog posters trying to call them. It would just get annoying and creepy after a while. Some people would prefer a more laid-back atmosphere. That said, I hope he chooses Michigan.

According to the ESPN article linked by WellHungJury below, Susan was not a DB coach, but recruiting coordinator and TE coach. So, even if he had recruited Knight it makes sense that this wouldn't be a huge deal for him either way.

Knight has a really nice highlight film; I'd think he has as good of a chance at being an All American as either of the two other safeties. He would be a great pick up and i don't care how it would affect our chances with Dorsey who is likely headed to FSU anyways.

It is interesting in regards to Michigan and the four remaining (known) possibilities leading up to NSD. Currently we have 26 commited players, RichRod mentioned recently that he expects to sign a class of 26, but we are still heavily involved in a number of recruits (Dorsey, Parker, Knight, Grimes). I know with this recruiting class we will be at the 85 scholarship players limit, but it could be interesting what might happen if a few more want to commit. Do we Peace someone, ask a few to greyshirt, pull scholarships, or should we expect a decommit or two to happen between now and NSD? Obviously from what I have read we are going all-out for Dorsey, and things still sound good for Parker. This news helps to swing Knight in our favor as well.

Just a thought: Wouldn't it be cool to have an MGoTwitterTracker on the front page? Have it display anything from Brian, TomVH, tagged MGoBlog, etc...

I noticed that RR now says UM can take 26/28 recruits, which tells me that he is very confident on adding two to the 26 we have now, and hopefully, Parker and Knight are those two. Dorsey is a ridiculous longshot, and I won't get my hopes up. I really want Sean Parker though!
