14 weeks 4 days ago i think it would have to be

i think it would have to be something along the lines of leaving your feet to launch at the other player would be a good determining factor. that plus leading with your head and aiming directly at the opposing player's face. if they went back to actually tackling instead of trying to make EPSN's highlight reel with a big hit, there would be a lot less ambiguity about the call. it would be harder to call it a hit on a defenseless player if you're wrapping your arms around for a tackle rather than just trying to blow the guy up.

14 weeks 4 days ago and i think a lot of this

and i think a lot of this comes from something that drives me crazy as a football fan. basically once a player with the ball gets beyond the linebackers, tackling is no longer involved. how many times do you see DBs shoulder block a guy catching a ball near him, 90+%? if the guys actually wrapped their arms around and tackled i think just that in itself could take away some of the helmet to face you see so much of

21 weeks 2 days ago Keep on the front page

this needs to be kept on the front page somewhere, even if it's just the date somewhere to avoid the hundreds of threads between now and April asking if anyone knows when the game is.

24 weeks 2 days ago i'm from NC and absolutely

i'm from NC and absolutely can't stand duke and i know they'll lose a handfull of games this year but i seriously doubt this will be one of those

24 weeks 3 days ago a lot like i tell my daughter

a lot like i tell my daughter almost daily, don't get yourself in that position to where you can get caught up in something bad. either way it's a very unfortunate situation for all three to be in with their futures potentially changed forever.

24 weeks 5 days ago For sports

as far as sports go The Show is the best baseball game out there. i haven't played this years because i have last years and there really wasn't much new that mattered to me. NHL is always a solid choice as far as sports go as well.

like someone said above, Red Dead Redemption can be found in game of the year edition for around $20 and you can waste away so many hours of your life on. this, just like the show, is more so a single player game IMO but NHL is a blast online but has some good offline features as well.

25 weeks 5 days ago not going to lie

i'm not going to lie and say that didn't bring a little tear to the eyes. it's great hearing about how these guys who are really still kids themselves putting in the time with kids who i'd imagine just want to forget where they are and why for just a little while.

this was a great story about two great people, very nice

26 weeks 1 hour ago i ask because i honestly

i ask because i honestly don't know any better but i looked at dead period and quiet period rules and i didn't see anything regarding statements from the university or anything like that as being a rules violation, only against contact beyond "hello" to recruits. what am i missing as far as any rules being broken?

29 weeks 2 days ago i don't know...

i don't know if i can go against ND. all season long i've pulled against them and hoped for them to lose, even as recently as last week when it was basically a 3-way tie at the top. BUT, now that it's this week and if ND loses it will in all likelihood be an all SEC NC game again, i'm more so pulling against that than a ND win.

i dislike brian kelly and basically the whole ND team but as a college football fan i have gained a lot of respect for Manti Te'o as a football player and as a human this season, so in a way i rationalize it that way i guess.

30 weeks 1 day ago it's unbelieveable how much

it's unbelieveable how much they believe it. i talked to a couple last night and one swears about how he knows someone that ran into someone that would know and he said it's a done deal, so it's gotta be the truth. the other tells me about how it was a done deal last week but when you ask why they haven't just come out and said it, this time it's because the MNF deal won't let them announce it until the last monday night game this season, which makes absolutely no sense to at all, but i'm a michigan fan so what do i know.

30 weeks 3 days ago The fans hate Sunseri almost

The fans hate Sunseri almost more than they hate Dooley but then again I know a lot of UT fans personally and they as a whole could possibly be one of the most irrational and delusional fanbases I've ever seen.

30 weeks 3 days ago very few. if you read some of

very few. if you read some of the Tennessee boards, they all are certain he's coming and its just a matter of time. it's rather amusing reading come of their crap.

40 weeks 1 day ago USA Today is doing their best

USA Today is doing their best to make it happen. so far two SEC teams have passed USC in two weeks even though they haven't lost. same thing happened last year when bama and lsu passed oklahoma while all three teams were undefeated.

1 year 19 weeks ago i'm not so certain i would

i'm not so certain i would "vote" for the voiding of a LOI in the event of a coaching change. you hear all the time that players should commit to the school and not the coach, even though you can't blame an 18 yr old kid for getting attached to people that schmooze him and tell him everything he wants to hear for commiting to the coach rather than the school. i think if nothing else any school that's being investigated by the NCAA and there is even a slight possibility there may be a head coaching change coming because of said investigations, it might keep some players available to other schools by knowing that if they sign the LOI and the coach that offered and promised them more than other schools gets canned they're stuck there and won't be so fast to pull the trigger

1 year 24 weeks ago I think one other thing that

I think one other thing that makes a difference is how ESPN likes to tell everyone over and over that the SEC is the best and toughest conference. If you're an 18 yr old kid and you know that you're going to be seen by more people around the country by playing in the SEC because ESPN is going to show the majority of their games and you'll get even more face time on Sportscenter then why wouldn't you want to go there if exposure is one of the big things you're looking for. This I think helps funnel the players to the SEC more so than the other conferences as a whole, perception becomes reality.

1 year 24 weeks ago Congrats!

Yes Congratulations Tom and Ms. VH since she did most of the work up to this point. If only baby VH could have held out until tomorrow he would have the same bday as me.

1 year 27 weeks ago that stadium is literally

that stadium is literally less than 10 miles from my house and the field always looks that way. during the summer they use it as a race track and they have demolition derbys and all kinds of what not there that destroys the field. but you're right, you'd think they could do a little more to make the field at least playable on.

1 year 31 weeks ago bad thing is it probably will

bad thing is it probably will happen with how much espn and all the other press and media love them some SEC. i was pissed when alabama and lsu jumped oklahoma despite the sooners not losing or even having close games as far as i recall

1 year 31 weeks ago i'll take the blame for this

i'll take the blame for this one too, i gave up the traditional #1 jersey for a new M hoodie. it was so soft and comforting i couldn't not wear it. the question i have about that is should i have washed it first before wearing the first time, could that have made the difference. it will definately be washed before next saturday and IF i choose to wear it again an M loses, then anyone want a free hoodie?

1 year 33 weeks ago i'm not really sure of a way

i'm not really sure of a way that this could be of use and i'm sure most of you have seen this but it still makes me laugh. maybe you could put it somewhere in the money.

i'm hoping for a huge dose of toussaint this year, he absolutely kills in NCAA 11 and 12 so that means he can do it for real right? Fitz has always been one i've been very excited to see what he can do with the chance

1 year 50 weeks ago go buy it

i have played the show since 09 and like you purchased a PS3 specifically for the show. i never really got into the pitching much on the previous versions because i could never truely control where the pitches went, they would be close but consistancy is what frustrated me. the meter pitching is wonderful this year, you have much more control over up, down, left and right with the ball. as others have said, the point system is so much better also. you don't usually rack up 150 points in one game, mostly when hitting, like you could easily do in previous versions but you don't get a fail on certain challenges because of the dumbass computer baserunners, you still get points for good contact, timing and/or working the pitch count. as much as it's still the same game, the minor tweaks were a great improvment. and yes the commentating is terrible as a lot of people say but the have some funny lines every now and then.

2 years 5 weeks ago i always thought that with

i always thought that with all the prep work tate did to become a top qb he may have been pretty close to his ceiling as a freshman while denard was so raw his ceiling was so far away. tate was as good as you could have expected as a true freshman but maybe there just wasn't that much room for improvement as far as his capabilities. i still wish the kid well though.
