Tom Crean Hired At Georgia

Title says it. Crean hired by Georgia. Does this mean JMFH starts cheering for the Bulldog basketball team? I can't stand Crean, but this does make the SEC better.

Crean is a Tom Arnold clone.

Whatever happened to Tom Arnold?   I think people eventually realized he was a user/creep and stopped hiring him for big roles. (Who marries Rosanne just to get a role?)

PITINO IS STILL AVAILABLE, PEOPLE!  FIRE BEILEIN!

You people need to stop being so selfish. Our players deserve nothing but the best in adult entertainment given how hard they work.

If Georgia hired Pitino I would have lost what little respect I have for them.  (They're a pretty good school for the South.)  It is important that society have rules and that they are followed.  ...and that the cheaters pay some sort of a price.

I've done a 180 on Crean.  I should have never listened to him on Pardon My Take and the Harbaugh podcast. Now I like the guy.  He was great on tv too.

I just listened to this week's podcast, with Crean leading it off.  He gave an excellent analysis of the tunamelt, along with some of the psychology in keeping teams fresh between the conference tourneys and the NCAAs.  I'll miss him on TV, too - he had already become one of the better color guys in the whole sport.

BTW, that podcast was outstanding all around.  Owen Marecic was the guest, and Harbaugh loves the guy!  But then Harbaugh called in the equiptment manager to also talk to Marecic (they were all at Stanford).  And then Harbaugh had Ben Mason tracked down and he joined the call to get some advice from Marecic.  It was abundantly clear just how much Harbaugh adores everything Ben Mason!  An excellent listen, if you haven't listened yet...

I guess he'll get more talent into Georgia, but it always seemed that his IU teams struggled in the tourney compared to expectations, and I doubt he's figured out how to change that.  Though I do wonder if the SEC gets gutted a bit with some of these FBI allegations; seems like a lot of schools in that conference might be getting dinged.

Was hoping for Pitino though because then the NCAA and all it's fans know that UGA's athletic department is dirty and has no integrity for the rules

As a television analyst, Crean was (to me) surprisingly good.  Much more analytical (the actual job) than the "personalities".

As a coach of any team, Crean is a spectacular douche.  That can't be said often enough.
