Sugar Bowl Open Thread - Pre-Game Warmup

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

Hopefully, no one is upset that I put this up way too early, but I can’t wait for 8:30 PM. Obviously, I can barely wait for 6:30 PM either, but as I am already preparing for this evening, my hope is that there is some pre-game discussion as well.

Those of us stuck at work or at home for this one will hopefully appreciate the chance to chat a little bit now and  then throughout the game. Those of you in New Orleans...what are you doing in the open threads? Get out there and support the Wolverines!

This is it, fellow Wolverines.

This is your Allstate Sugar Bowl Open Thread - Pre-Game Warm-Up. Actual game thread to start hopefully in the next 45 minutes or so.

8:30 PM on ESPN. Pre-game starts at 8 PM, live from the Superdome in New Orleans. Many thanks to our fellow MGoBloggers who are live at the scene for their updates.

This is the only game tonight, as it should be. Hopefully,  it’s an awesome one…for us.

The open thread for this game will surpass 300 posts, and that's if it hadn't been started 2 hours before kick off.

It would have been tolerable if you would have made this a "Pre Game Open Thread."  Then you, or someone else if they beat you to the punch, can start a game thread at 8:30 PM or, better yet, a first half open thread and then another for the second half.

Spread the wealth of those precious MGoPoints.......... :/

If there is a liveblog, it will be up later than a lot of the regular season ones. And who will run it? An auto-approve, sugar bowl post orgy, perhaps?

There are about 50 comments for every approved comment during big games--especially when things are going poorly. You wouldn't even be able to read the LiveBlog. Most of them are similar depending on the situation (i.e. "WOOOOOOO" or "NOOOOOOOOO" or "is it time Devin got a shot). Trust me, auto approve is terrible.

How did I never hear this before?  I know he doesn't like the press but am a bit suprised this story didn't get out sooner...  Just another reason to be damn proud that man is a Wolverine.

Virginia Tech is 1-2 in the Sugar Bowl

Michigan is 0-1 (loss to Auburn Jan 1984, damn you Al Del Greco and your lifetime 77 FG percentage!!)

I love how they showed the two teams huddling together and VT was kinda just standing around and the Michigan players were bouncing around, they're definitely hyped for this one.
