Memorial stadium experience

Took my 4-year old son, my father, and father-in-law (IU fan) to their first Michigan game. We had a wonderful experience in Bloomington. Seats 5 rows off the wall, near the 20 yard line, at the closed end of the stadium. Indiana fans around us were great, and knowledgeable.

-We did not tailgate, but both UM and IU fans invited us to join them as we walked around prior to kickoff.

-I was shocked by the amount of students that didn't return after halftime. If a close game with a top 15 opponent doesn't keep them there, nothing will.

-It was enjoyable to see the disappointment of the students preparing to rush the field when Jehu caught the tying TD.

-My four year old informed me he had to use the restroom, just after Darboh scored in the 2nd OT. We were able to make it back prior to IU's possession. The life of a dad sports fan!

- All being said, IU offered a great atmosphere and a great game. My son (and his dad)will never forget his first UM game.

Morgan?!?!

What is Morgan's deal with not grabbing the ball? Are his hands small? Is he really weak? It has been an issue his whole career.

Lavert

Please, get Lavert out of there!! Energy is great, but he is a human turnover.

LAVERT!!!!

Get Lavert of of there...he makes this team worse right now.

UM defense!

The defense makes other teams look like offensive juggernauts! It gets so old watching everybody's have career games against them.

I'm interested

Would prefer ESPN, but would play on Yahoo too. [email protected]

Outstanding Man

The definition of a Michigan Man. He will be missed.

I deserve all the hate coming my way.

No excuse for the subpar title. I accept all ridicule.

Clarify

In the car, sorry. He has WMU as his "Herdle" potential upset pick. It is Cowherd so take it for what it is.

Thanks

Well, my plan to have a productive work day is now shot.  After watching this video I am too excited/pumped/amped/etc. to do anything that even resembles work.  So I guess the next 8 hours are going to be spent watching and reading about Michigan Football.  All in all I guess that is considered a banner day.

Fall wedding rules

I told my wife there are only four non-family members that I would consider going to their wedding in the fall. Other than those few, she has learned to not even ask about borderline friends. I had my wedding in April to protect football season for my fellow fans. Nothing ruins a Saturday like an all day wedding event.

Favorite sport moment, let alone favorite Michigan Moment

That Saturday in September was by far the proudest I have ever been to be a Michigan Wolverine fan.  I bought tickets the Tuesday before the game with the hopes of being there when Brock led the team.  I couldn't imagine the emotions that surrounded that few minutes in Michigan Stadium.  There we are with 113,000 people all supporting a man and a family who have been through so much.  The noise was deafening, the pride was amazing.  To top it all off the football game wasn't half bad either.

Gave me chills!

Great post. If there is anyone who can empathize with Austin, it's Brock. The UM community is blessed to have both these young men. Get well soon Austin and keep inspiring people Brock.

Live Press Conferences

NCAA.com has the live press conferences.  NDU is just finishing up, Michigan up next.

ND Crying boy

Hunwick is so good he makes little boys cry!

Wow

Melrose refuses to question anything North Dakota does.  He succeeded in trashing Michigan and telling us how great ND played, despite them LOSING 1-0.  ESPN - wow.

Hunwick!

The boy is just plain filthy!

Brock's Training

After the Hoke hire, I was able to talk to Brock on Facebook actually.  He said he hoped to work with the new staff.  I know he was pretty bummed about the prior staff being let go, but he responded like only Brock would.  He said he was going to leave it in the Lord's hands, just like he has done throughout his journey.

I know he has been speaking at many schools, churches and events over the last few months.  So obviously his story isn't finished.

If I had to go with my gut, I expect Hoke to welcome him with open arms.  With Elliot on the team, the amazing coverage the story has gotten, and the type of person Brock is, how could they not.

At least Michigan people take the time

At least UM fans take time to do the math, and smile.

If I could +100 you I would

Nice catch, if I could plus one you the rest of the day I would.

Early

He was a little bit early too.  I will enjoy watching his mother explain that to him in 10 years.

My grandma doesn't understand either

I learned after the fact, that a woman is really only pregnant 8 1/2 months.  Color me surprised.

My wife disowns me in the fall

I am one of those fans that make it hard to be around after a rough Saturday.  I proposed to my wifein the summer, fully knowing the wedding would take place in the spring (far away from football season).  Most game days turn into me sitting in the basement alone watching the game because I have been banished.  Or if I am watching the game on the "good" TV it is because she left the house, and I didn't  go.  I

I have refused to attend weddings of her friends, and have left other weddings early to watch games.

I also lobbied very hard to name my child Mason Blue, but that was shot down.

I admit at times it may be overboard, but I never apologize for my fandom.

We will be married one year on April 17, and many of our arguments involve my sports wactching.  I have a 3 month old son, and he already smiles when he hears "The Victors."  She has fought it for a year, I figure eventually she will just relent and embrace all that is being a Michigan Wolverine.

Go Blue!

No comparison

Craft state line

0-5 from the field, 2-3 fts, 6 reb, 2 assist, 4 steals, 1 to, 2 pf

You must hate Hardaway to compare that to him.

You must like David Eckstein and his grittiness too.

Who is the dude with man tits

Announcers

Who are the announcers for this game?

Glad I am not alone

I have also been playing "Hail to the Victors" to the son growing inside my wife.  She doesn't understand it, but she will.  I already have his first picture gear laid out.  It is a Michigan onesie and new born hat.  He received his UM pacifiers for Christmas, and will be getting a jersey in time for football season next year.  I lobbied really hard to name him Mason Blue, but that didn't fly.

I am scared to death that the boy will insist on coming into this world around 2:30 on Jan. first, which would put it right in middle of the Gator Bowl. However, when Michigan leaves victorious it could be a great memory of his birth date.

Go Blue!

Really?

As Michigan fans, act like we have been there before (because we have). It always looks ridiculous when "power" teams rush the field, even during a rough stretch. When a MAC school beats a top 25 bcs school, rush the field. When the Leaders and Best win, relish it but remember they are the all-time winningist (is that even a word) program.

As a former Toledo Rocket

As a former Toledo Rocket, I refuse to admit that fan is one of ours.  When these announcers are ripping you, you know you suck.

The Polish Rifle needs to teach him how to throw.

When Terrelle went down last week you were thrilled?

Seriously now!  What football team does not grow concerned when their quarterback gets hurt.  Really does Joe Bauserman get you excited?  I didn't think so.  So let's drop the whole argument that our quarterback may get hurt.  So far I am fairly certain he is a whole lot more accurate that #2 at OSU.  Tell Brandon Saine or Dan Herron (I refuse to call that kid Boom) to start running the ball, then come on our board and talk crap.

Also while I am on my rant, YOU, an OSU fan is questioning our competition?  REALLY?  Marshall (1-4), Ohio (2-4), Miami (3-1), Eastern Michigan (haven't won in forever), Illinois (2-2)...so with all that there clear as day, you have beaten 1 team with a winning record.

In your words "Very Bad"

Michigan's opponents - UCONN (3-2), ND (2-3), UMASS (4-1) (yes I know, FCS, but still better than EMU or Ohio, and probably Marshall), BG (1-4), Indiana (3-1).

There are no world beaters on that list, but "very bad" would not be a good description, maybe sub-par?

With all that being said, coming onto a Michigan board, telling us how dependent on a QB we are, is ridiculous.

Go back to your hole, and just worry about your game this week.. Something tells me you have your hands full.

Good food, before or after the game

For those UM fans looking to get a good bite to eat in Bloomington after the game, I suggest, the Trojan Horse.  The address is 100 E. Kirkwood Ave.  My boss has season tickets to IU, and both his son goes to IU as well, so I have been down to see the Hoosiers on several occasions.

For all that is said negative about Bloomington, it is a good atmosphere around the stadium prior to the game.  It is nothing like The Big House, or Ohio Stadium, but they hold their own.  Enjoy the road trip, and Go Blue!

Thank you

Thank you for the "heads up."  Glad that so many are hearing Brock's story.  I find myself, every so often, watching Brock's walk vs. UCONN to remind myself that no matter what the circumstances, I can do this.  Thanks again, and thanks Brock.

1% Shirts

I spoke with Brock's 5th grade teacher before the game and asked about the shirts.  She said family and friends from his hometown made the shirts.   That being said I think they were just a one time thing.  Could be a great fund raiser for research into spinal injuries or something like that.

For what it is worth Brock also often wears the Adidas "Impossible is Nothing" shirt while working out.

What an amazing event.  So proud to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Go Brock...Glory to God!

All time Big House Moment

What an amazing, moving event at the Big House.   As I was openly tearing up in my section, the I glanced around, and noticed EVERYONE around me was doing the same.  Amazing story, amazing walk, amazing roar.  The crescendo as Brock approached the M GO BLUE banner was something I will never forget.  His shirt said it all "Glory to God"

So proud of Brock, and so proud of Michigan.  Go Blue.

Silly question

There isn't a single time I ever want OSU to do well.  It is nice when UM gets a chance at them during an undefeated season, but I root against Ohio State in everything.  Football, basketball, checkers, tic tac toe.  I lived in Ohio for 17 years, and can't stand anything scarlett and grey.  This being said go "Herd.

Feel the same

I got excited when I got tickets for Saturday's game, and most of the excitement wasn't even football related.  People like Brock put football into perspective.  That being said...GO BLUE!

Section 214

214 is more near the Bemedji State corner, but you should be okay...Michigan fans will be all over the arena I suspect. But the Michigan "section" will be to your right.

Seating Sections

Hey everyone, Alton has it figured right for seating areas. I just got an email from the Ticket Director for the Regional at ND. Thanks for all the input, and look forward to seeing a lot of Maize and Blue, both Saturday and Sunday.

Michigan Sections in Fort Wayne

Does anyone know what sections are "Michigan Sections" at the Coliseum. I am the rare Michigan Hockey fan living in Indiana, and can't wait to see the Wolverines. I just don't want to get stuck sitting with a bunch of Miami fans. Let me know asap. Thanks...Go Blue!
