Squashing (Most?) of the Injury/Transfer Rumors - Sam Webb on WTKA
Busy so I will make this brief. This should address some of the questions in the "Another Player Transferring Out, But Who?" thread. I don't see a board post on this, so hopefully some find this refreshing.
The quote from Sam...
The concern about Rashan Gary - unfounded; not a major injury. The concern about Karan Higdon - unfounded; not a major injury. The concern about Jaylen Kelly-Powell leaving the team - didn't happen. The concern about Casey Hughes leaving the team - didn't happen. That's five rumors, only one of which is true (referring to the Tarik Black rumor).
First half of this segment of the podcast is mostly addressing the Tarik Black injury and the other rumors, particularly about how we should not freak out every time a rumor is out there. His advice - Pay attention to the source.

I guess to be fair... Sam never really said "there are no transfers." He just addressed individuals who were rumored to possibly be transferring. So we can all still freak out if we want to.

Sam Webb is the master of giving no info. The rumor was that someone on the line might transfer. Last I checked Hughes nor JKP played on the line. So Webb pretty much didn’t address the rumor. Way to debunk things.

And just to be clear for the sanity of some, the "Tarik Black rumor" is only regarding what has already been made public in that he fractured his foot. There IS NOT another Tarik Black rumor.

I love Uofm and Ann Arbor, but I will say since going to Uofm I’m amazed how many of the students I dislike. Their ideas often times don’t come anywhere near coinciding with mine. Sometimes people will be protesting against something I didn’t even realize people could disagree with.

The original rumor was that someone transferred, it was other posters guessing JKP/Hughes. And not to stir the pot more, but Sam very clearly doesn't say no one else has transferred, it's just that those 2 names mentioned haven't. If no one else had left the program he would have said that, so it's likely someone did leave.
But it's in poor taste to guess at who and pointless to speculate until the team announces it. I really dislike people who post on message boards ominous/cryptic insider info but can't actually name a name. It leads to harmful speculation as people try to figure it out and I'm sure leads to headaches for the team and those covering it. All so they can feel important on the internet.

Which is why I sort of made that same response in the comments. We all know that there are individuals out there who literally made a "check list" of possible transfers, so I was hoping to at the very least allowing them to cross off a few of those names. Just trying to save a few lives if possible.

This particular guy said that a "lineman" -- didn't say offense or defense -- was serious considering a transfer (the hint was that it was pretty much a done deal). He then gave two reasons for why he couldn't say more:
1. He would get negged
2. It's just not fair to the kid who is transferring.
Such a post, and such reasons for not being more specific, are wrongheaded in more ways than can possibly be articulated.

Listen, I agree that in that scenario you keep your mouth shut.
However. I remember with some clarity the poster who claimed that he knew via inside sources that Purdue's first play would be a throwback screen to the QB. He got the SHIT negged out of him when he wouldn't elaborate. He was dismissed, and there were a few hurtful things said about his character. Purdue's first play? Throwback screen to the QB for 20+ yards.

Brian Kelly said he will be dressed and we will se come game time. He's not playing, BK isn't allowed to discuss University suspensions. He hasn't even been practicing with the ones or twos I highly doubt he plays.
