Thanks for shaving years off your life by staring at that steaming pile for our benefit.  Delving into the details has to be painful, e.g. answering the question of just why did we fumble on the 1 yard line or the vast amount of defensive discombobulation.  I imagine the reason that it's taking a while to write up is because every time you start, you want to lie down with a damp washcloth on your forehead after 5 minutes.

To counter that depressive piece - perusing the comments, it clearly will be ): -

I will once again attempt to post my diary of the Buckeye beatdown in Columbus.

Although HOPING for some muppets Saturday night.

P S Great spring game to watch in a suite/club seat.

That, and the Philadelphia Eagles put on display all season how to run the QB sneak. Obviously good push from your center and guards is key, but also lining up two backs/tight ends one yard to either side of the QB to give him the "bush push" treatment makes the plays almost unstoppable.

Even without a tank QB and a Bush push, Tom Brady's career sneak stats show how effective the QB sneak really is. And if he's worried about JJ taking hits, prepare for it all offseason with Orji. It doesn't matter if you telegraph the sneak. Opponents almost always knew what Brady was going to do (especially as the years went on), and they still couldn't stop it.

The goal line thing is not really quirkiness though, it is just bad play calling pure and simple.  Even when Michigan scores in that situation it is on 4th down by the nose of the football with review needed to uphold it.  It is just bad, it has gone on forever, and Harbaugh literally needs to hire a goal line guru to fix it.

That pass would have been excusable as a legit attempt to make a play on an otherwise bad down.  Had Mullings just ran it, he would have been stuffed and we all would have cried foul.  Had the pass dropped incomplete, we all would have cried 'OHH!! ALMOST!!!!!'.  Had the pass been picked, we all would have cried 'WTF was that? Crap, but we'd have probably punted to there, anyway.'...

I believe the doldrums officially begin on Sunday.

Hopefully, the hockey team has everyone's spirits "up" on Sunday, and - that the baseball / softball / men's lacrosse teams can keep the Michigan fanbase engaged and optimistic.

April in the D!!!  Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons will keep us entertained.  Tigers even got a hit last game and they have sweet new fences at the stadium.

That semifinal game is going to suck for a lot of reasons but mostly because 2022-2023 TCU was an anomaly and had a roster of unique skill-set players who played in systems UM doesn't typically see in the B1G or other big time P5 teams. There's not going to be a whole lot to take away from that game except Michigan fucked around and found out in the 1st half.

I don't think Michigan has to plan for 3-3-5 defenses a lot and how to spy someone like Dugan who was a true dual threat. It also sucked that was one of the worst, most lop-sided NCG in a while. No need to relive every play of that game although JJ's, minus the pick-6's, was pretty damn great. Pick-6's are either the most flukey plays or the most dialed-in plays for defensive players.

If Michigan wins a National Championship this year, it'll be because of that game. Which was like a big ass mirror for the program.

My fear is still the CB spot, I still would like to see a transfer starter in May when the portal opens up.

But we also saw good, we were forced to open it up. We were forced to play faster. We were forced to get uncomfortable and play a style that isn't our own.

Michigan should've won that game, you can't say that about UGA the year before.

For the first time since probably 2006, Michigan can beat every team in the country even if that team plays its best game.

This is our best shot, but we've got to work like we did in '21, improve throughout the year like we did in '22, and attack '23 and '24 with a chip on shoulder the size of that spinning cube at the Union.
