Southfield lawyer offering services to Mike Weber, pro bono
Apparently Detroit-area lawyer, Neil Rockind, has offered his service to Mike Weber pro bono if OSU does not grant him a release.
He has been tweeting all about the story.

His website is rockindlaw.com
Someone close to the Weber family needs to let them know that I will volunteer my services to help him get out of LOI

^^^ This times infinity. Everyone is jumping to conclusions here even going so far as to through out the litigation card.
Yes, he removed crap from the Twitters/FB/social media and he has all the reason in the world to be pissed but he still has a lot of reasons to attend OSU in the fall and until he says otherwise people need to chill the eff out.

I have little doubt at some point in time you will hear the name Mike again - it is pretty popular, but I wish you luck if that is your objective.

He chose THE Ohio state university so his name is Ike.

I hope the kid gets his release (if he wants it); I wish him the best of luck, but I'm tired of hearing his name. We've moved on (I hope); we have a great RB recruit, and there's no need to worry about Mike Weber again.

Where do "Call Sam" and "Call Lee Free" stand on this issue though? /s

I'm going to watch it with low expectations because I know it will not come close to the greatness that was Breaking Bad.
February 6th, 2015 at 8:15 PM ^
Funnily enough, I've never seen a single episode of Breaking Bad and never had any interest in doing so..... but could easily see myself watching Better Call Saul.

Breaking Bad. It is really good; up there with the Sopranos. I ended up watching it in marathon form on Netflx leading up to the 5th season. I don't regreat that time spent.
It's still on Netflix. I recommend watching it.

I'd be surprised if OSU would not grant Weber his release if he makes it known that he wants out. It's already been a public relations hit for them. If it's smoothed over and he stays, the story will inevitably die down. Were the Buckeyes to put up a fight in the face of Weber wanting out, that would be more costly than just the loss of a top recruit. I haven't heard that he wants out, but, you know, the story is all of 30 hours old and pretty shy on any real statements.

Weber isnt a recruit anymore
February 6th, 2015 at 7:05 PM ^
it would probably be considered an impermissable benefit so it would not matter if he were a recruit or not especially since the guy was UM Grad and probably contributed to the program (buying tickets to games technically makes you a booster)
February 6th, 2015 at 9:38 PM ^
Interesting that it might be an impermissable benefit to hire a lawyer pro bono to sue an NCAA institution. Sounds like grounds for another lawsuit.

I agree. I think this is being a little bit blown out of proportion because, well, this is a Michigan board and we finished #2 for a good prospect.
February 6th, 2015 at 6:28 PM ^
If I was Harbaugh n company, I wouldn't take him back for all the tea in China. ( if he received his release- will not happen)
Michigan has won on this one. They didn't get the prospect (the battle). Let's see if they can win the war (recruiting credibility with recruits that are neck n neck with both schools)
February 6th, 2015 at 7:14 PM ^
i agree to let him go. we got a good running back.

by a Buckeye coach being a schmuck???

He is but... Isn'ta big part of recruiting building relationships? Sounds like he hit off pretty well with Drayton and got close to him. Then to play him the way they did, I would be pretty pissed off too. We cant sit here and say that" Harbaugh didn't have enough time to build relationship with these players" and thats why maybe our class wasnt as spectacular as some would have thought. But then turn around and say "Its not about the coaches, its about the program"
I dont know, I kinda feel bad for the dude... But he did have his chance to play somewhere else. Either or, not a good look for Urban. But im sure he will slime his way out of it.
