Have you seen his girlfriend?  Tate is definitely one of the best "players".

BTW tried to post a picture of her from Google and it got blocked for inappropriate content.

girls like that grow on trees in socal.  not all that cute in comparison, and lots of effort, hair coloring, etc.to make up for that.

more importantly, one of the best lessons i ever learned out there as a young  person was that all that glitters is not gold - and that specifically includes the fairer gender.  you've to to dig deeper to find real gold.

Ehh fwiw the Miami football boards all say he was likely their best QB on the roster before King transferred in. His problem is that he prefers the CFB IG lifestyle more than the actual game. He skips practices and meetings and is now likely to transfer to a third school. He has talent, but his dedication, attitude, and perseverance are clearly lacking.

Once it becomes clear that Martell has no future in professional football—if it's not clear already—he better find a financially productive line of work because Kiki will stick around for about 15 minutes if she concludes he can't support her in the lifestyle she was expecting.

You can count on Bleacher Report for hard hitting journalism that gets to the story behind the story.  When mainstream media is reporting on the number of actually good players opting back in, BR digs up this story on this chump.

Its news worthy when consider that Miami is playing Louisville on primetime tonight, and he was a 5 star recruit who transferred to Miami because Justin Fields transferred to OSU, and then Miami got D'Eriq King, because they weren't happy with the QB's on the roster. He wasn't even on the depth chart at any position.

Is he still in college?  He's like Johnny football, but without the college playing success.  Why doesn't he just go mid-major already so he can be the man as he so desperately desires.

Tate or not, it's a reminder that players we blithely and / or snarkily discuss as if they were pieces on a game board are actually young men doing their best to sort through their lives, while subjected to pressures of expectations that few of us have experienced.
