Michigan can't run and hasn't really been able to run with RBs consistently probably since Mike Hart left the building.

It's strange because both RR and Hoke in their own way really emphasized that aspect and so does Harbaugh. It's not like we have had Mike Leach type coaches who are happy to just throw it 60 times a game.

Run game is still pretty sub-par. Rudock has to carry this offense. They really need to hit a home run in RB recruiting. There is an opportunity for someone to come in and steal the starting role.

1. Jake Ruddock clearly is a good QB - he may not be anyone's all-american or a high draft choice or have the ideal "pro arm" but in the clutch he won the game. It is clear why he was selected by the coaching staff over all of the other options.

2. This coaching staff can adapt - we may not know the true reason why but clearly the running game is off kilter (better opposition than UNLV, Oregon State, etc) or unacknowledged injuries but they adapted. I dare say that in previous years, the Wolverines would not have pulled this type of game out.

3. Winning tough on the road when the team isn't playing its best - great effort.

Game balls to Ruddock, Chesson and Butt.

Here's the high-level summary, and of course, it is inflated some by the 2OT aspect, but here we go:

Passing -

33 of 46 for Rudock for 440 yards, which comes out to an average of  13.33 yards per completion and 9.57 yards per attempt.

Rushing -

As a team, we ran it 28 times for 141 yards, or an average of 5.04 yards per carry. Point of fact, however...take out Rudock's 7 for 64 performance on the ground, and it is 21 carries for 77 yards, or 3.67 yards per carry without our QB. Yeah.

I do NOT like the feeling of this game.

Defense needs to dominate and Rudock is going to have to play his best game of the year. This is the game where we need Rudock to be great rather than just average. Carry us to victory Jake. Just one game!

I wish games likes these were noon games. By the time the adrenaline wears off, it will be close to dawn I am thinking. I had to get a spatula to break my ass cheeks away from where I was sitting. The team is growing. That is 2 games on the road now where we could of folded down the stretch. Harbaugh!!!!!!

was a man today.  IU is terrible in pass D, and Rudock made them pay almost every time.  Near mistake free from Rudick.  Earlier in the season Rudock was often not able to make teams pay for poor pass D.  Today (and last Satruday) he did.  Hope that means he can do that against Penn State and OSU.

Too many false start penalties on Michigan.  Gotta fix that.

Before today, Rudock had not been able to complete any passes over the top.  Not one. Today, he did it repeatedly. Can you imagine how this game would have gone if he had not been able to do it again today? Thank goodness he came through.

I think i'm more worried about our O line not being able to open up holes for our backs then i am about our D Line.   That was a pretty pathetic effort in the run game today.
