The Snowflake Thread: The fans

Submitted by ThadMattasagoblin on

Shame on the 35000 so called "fans" who sold their tickets to Buckeye fans. The fans that were there were loud and the big house was rocking. We should have a program where if you miss more than one home game you lose your season ticket priviliges.

We always planned in going but the ST holders to our left sold theirs the Buckeyes fans and I don't give a shit!!! All of these tix on stubhub could just as easily have been bought by Michigan fans and they weren't. REAL Michigan fans could have bought what was left on Stubhub today or cleaned out the scalpers but didn't. Relax Not my place to tell others how to spend their coin, their Saturday or their holiday weekend. I have a friend out of town who often sells his tix and always asks if the buyer is a UofM fan......Holy Shit!!!!! He's been lied to before.

OP: "We should have a program where if you miss more than one home game you lose your season ticket priviliges."

Really? See any possible troubles with the implementation of that plan? Any?

I agree that the game wasn't that bad with the amount of visiting fans, but we should never have more than 10000 of them in AA.  If you've ever been to Columbus there are only about 10K Michigan fans.

I actually thought there would be more osu fans. They all got there early so when I got in there about 40 minutes to kickoff I thought it was gonna be bad, but it wasn't that bad.

And also SalvatoreQuattro I'm sick of your bitching about how there's so many ''bad fans'' on here that overreact. We haven't won a big ten title in 9 years. We have beat osu twice since the 100th game. We are not the lions. We are not emu. There is no reason to not be upset about that.

However I am not that upset at the moment. I will be upset if this game saved Borges' job, though.

But in actuality, if Michigan fans could all wear the same color for once, it wouldn't look nearly as bad.

Buckeye fans all wear red, so they stand out. Same with Wisconsin and Nebraska, Penn State in white, etc etc. Michigan fans, outside of the students, and they weren't even coordinated today, have never been able to wear the same color like those fanbases, so they don't stand out, and thus makes the visiting fans really stick out.

We suck in our own sucky way and I can see why non-Michigan people don't like us. Amongst ourselves, we're exceptionally neurotic, at least on this board.

I don't think they had 35K in the stands.  In my section there were just a handful here and there, and that was true for a lot of sections.  It wasn't as big an OSU turnout as I was fearing before the game.    In any event, they certainly failed to take over the stadium - our fans generated a fantastic atmosphere.

i will never see another game at michigan stadium again.   do I love my team? yep.   Will I pay to sit on a bleacher that is way too small?  nope.

For me it is a money thing and it isn't a matter of affordability so much as it is a matter of hating Brandon, hating the brand, hating 40$ to park, hating the cost of food inside the stadium, and, most importantly, hating having to wait to pee...

love,

jdon

ps.  I was hopeing so hard that those OSU fans would ahve the worst ride home ever...

At Thompson street garage and you get to walk to the game with the students. Fun atmosphere and warms you up a bit. Not to mention getting out of town is easy.

Three year season ticket holder, and I have to say I was very relieved. There's always going to be people looking to make their money back on the big games, but I really was impressed at the number of people who didn't succumb to the temptation. Fan showing was really superub, actually.

Also, love mgoblog, but Brian really dropped the ball on this one. I was 10 when we won the NC, and don't really remember it. My fandom isn't irrtaionally based on a belief we'll always be a top team. I love the Wolverines for who they are. Giving up on them in such a public way was extremely disgraceful.

All the alumni and season ticket holders that sold their tickets should be ashamed of themselves. Half the posters on here want us students to get penalized for showing up late, how about we penalizing those that sell their tickets to the enemy? I was there early, first 20 rows of the student section, and there were more OSU fans there for a long time. They had a mini homefield on the other side
