Sten, I'm shocked (rwwmb). Wow, is all. Still a fan, just not enjoying watching this season....which does not make me less of a fan.

It appears that the coaching staff has gotten so far into Devin's head trying to turn him into the anti-denard that the poor kid doesn't know what to do. His hesitation & timing is not all the o-lines fault. Don't get me wrong, the o-line is bad at best, but when he does have time he freezes. Still trying to make players be something they are not into what they want.

We were seriously overrated. We are young but we are not good right now. Coaching staff is suspect to say the least. Lets hope the next recruiting class holds together. We will get better. It will take longer than anyone envisioned.

You keep rooting for Michigan men, Bo was not one till he got here. I for one want the best fucking coach there is, I don't care if he is an OSU or MSU Alum. Our softball coach played at MSU, is she a Michigan woman now? All I know is she is a hell of a coach and nobody gives 2 shits where you came from as long as you win.

The criteria for coaching is winning football games.  There is nothing, absolutely NOTHING wrong with preaching toughness when playing your opponent.  The game is ultimately about intimidation and enforcing your will!  If you can get in the head of your opponent you have already won.

If you want a sport based on etiquette watch golf or tennis.

If (a) Michigan finishes the regular season at 6-6 (including wins over Akron and Connecticut – teams with a combined 3-15 record this year –  that easily could’ve been losses), (b) some of the high-profile recruits in Michigan’s 2014 recruiting class decide to open up their recruiting and (c) Da’Shawn Hand and Malik McDowell commit elsewhere, then Dave Brandon will have to think long and hard about replacing the entire football coaching staff after the bowl game, even though the potential consequences of that could be disastrous.

If only one Big Ten team gets to a BCS bowl game and Northwestern finishes at 6-6 with wins over Michigan and Illinois in its final three games, then the Wolverines could be fighting the Wildcats for the final two Big Ten bowl game berths – the Heart of Dallas Bowl against a Conference USA team on January 1, and the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl against a MAC team on December 26.  Either game would be an embarrassment for a Michigan team that was ranked as high as 11th in the nation after beating Notre Dame.

Michigan’s previous head coach was a very good offensive coordinator and a fair recruiter.  By making an impetuous decision to fire a competent defensive coordinator and replace him with an inept one after one season, the previous head coach was fired after three seasons, despite showing a progressive increase in the number of wins.

Many said that the previous head coach was not the right fit for Michigan, so he had to go.

The current head coach appears to be an excellent recruiter and might be a good defensive line coach.  He has delegated most of the play-calling responsibilities and game management to a defensive coordinator who had a very good track record before this season and an inept offensive coordinator who has done nothing to inspire confidence.

Many say that the current head coach is the perfect fit for Michigan because he’s steeped in Michigan football traditions and wants his players to honor and respect Michigan’s past glory.  Unfortunately, he often says that anything short of winning the Big Ten championship is failure.

Michigan has not won the Big Ten championship during the current head coach’s three-year tenure.  Barring a miraculous and seemingly unlikely turnaround that would cause Team 134 to finish this season at 9-3, if Hoke refuses to hire a new offensive coaching staff after the bowl game, then consideration may have to be given to moving on in 2014 with a new coaching staff, even if the potential consequences could be dire.

Borges is the problem.  He decides how plays will be designed and what plays will be run.  He has no clue as to how to best use the players he has, even when there is clear evidence as to what can be done.  The first drive of the second half worked great.  We never saw that set of plays again.  When Bo was the coach, if something worked, we did it until the other team found a way to stop it.  When Borges finds something that works, he goes right back to an under center play action pass or power running play, neither of which have a snowball's chance in h@#l of working.  It's painful to watch.  And it is interesting that the Nebraska defender says Nebraska knew what was coming based on the formation.  For the most part, so did I.  Funk should get a chance to put a more experienced line on the field.  Borges should not get another chance, because he cannot work with whatever he has and refuses to take what a defense is giving.  In addition, Denard got worse each year under Borges, and Gardner is not improving or being put in a position where he can be successful.  Did we ever try that swing pass to Toussaint that went for 40 yards at any point later in the game?

I only saw the first quarter of the game (took my little girl to a rollerskating party).  When I got home I was surprised to learn Nebraska didn't score more points.  Looking at the offensive stats of the game only and the first two possesions of the game, it's so frustating watching this team play offense.

I just watched the press conference and it's difficult to figure out what Hoke really thinks.  Sometimes I look at his mannerisms and voice and think he's on the verge of losing it and breaking down.  Other times I think he just doesn't want to call anyone out so he makes the blanket statement "I need to coach them better".  But, at the same time he says he has to look at play calling, running on first down, etc.  He seems unsure of what to do going forward.  He seems to realize there is a problem, but he's not quite sure of how to handle it.  Maybe I'm way off, but I've never seen him this unsure of himself.  If in fact he is frustrated I wish he would just admit it and say he's not sure, but he is going to figure it out instead of half pretending he knows what the problem is, but yet being vague about it.

Borges just had his lunch money stolen again, this time by one of the worst defenses in all of the major conferences.  He had to know exactly what every team for the remainder of the season will doing to his offense following the MSU debacle.  His response?  The worst fear of every Michigan fan watching that game was Al's response.  Failure across the board.  How many other big-time programs in the nation would tolerate such utter failure?

I am not sure if Hoke is right for the job or not.  It seems like the coaches that do well at schools like Michigan are the big personalities like Harbaugh, Saban, Meyer, and Miles.  I don't see Hoke in that mold.  He seems like a nice person and from all accounts is a good coach, but I am not sure he is the type of transformation figure that can get it done when expecations are championships.  The bar is quite a bit higher than his previous stops.

It also bothers me that after todays game, he supposedly commented that he was happy with the play calling.  Will he make the tough calls with his coaches and scheme after the season? Maybe?

At Michigan the expectation is Championships, not just competing.

Time will tell!  He's not going anywhere anytime soon!

Funk should have been fired already.  This is a disgrace. All of this teams offensive ills stem from a lack of execution and toughness on the Offensive line. Missed assignments, slow and weak play.  It is amazing to watch. Btw how is it Vincent Smith could block defensive linemen better than our guards and tackles?  Also, what is up with the lack of explosion and strength?

We need to get an ace O-line coach in here yesterday.  A prime time well regarding coach with a proven track record - not someone who happens to be buds with the HC. If Funk is arond next year you'll get another 4 or 5 loss season and more games with negative rushing yards.

Whoever said they question our toughness can shove it.  The guys seem to say the right things.  All sources seem to indicate the guys practice and play hard.  Yet, we don't execute in games.  That has to mean the playcalling is bad, the coaches are not putting them in positions to be successful, and/or we are simply young an inexperienced.  I just wish that even if all those things are true we could show improvement.

Should not get a free pass!! This D is awful as well! No sacks... No blitzes!!! He's so overrated!! This team got man handled by a shity Neb team without their starting QB! Pathetic!!!!!!

The problem with the OC and the players is entirely between their ears. They anticipate bad things happening in the run game. Devin is afraid to let the ball go. He pulled it back several times when guys were breaking open. They let MSU beat them twice. The blitzes came and they freaked out. It like some of the play calls were chosen hoping the play would go well and build confidence instead of realizing that they just aren't mentally in a place to succeed. Just go with what works at this point which would at least make the team feel better about doing something/anything that succeeds. We are what we are. Whether the coaches like it or not, they have to deal with it. Everyone is pressing, over thinking, and not just playing football. Talent is there, execution is not. If the coaches can't bring that talent to the fore, then Brady better be ready and willing to make changes. This will be a test of leadership. He deserves a chance to right the ship, but you can't get a new OC and line coach in Nov. Too late. As bad as we feel as fans, the coaches and players feel way worse. I hope they can get their heads straight before Nov. 30. Brady knows quite well what will happen if the team that showed up today is the team that takes the field on Nov. 30.

First off, everyone needs to give this coaching staff more credit. Somehow they got this disaster of a team to beat Notre Dame. In retrospect that was an amazing accomplishment. With the snark out too the way, there were two things I saw which I would like someone who knows offensive line play to answer. 1) against a four man rush, the entire offensive line zone blocked three defenders to the left and left Fitz one on one on the back side with a OLB/DE. Obviously Fitz got abused and a sack ensued. Seriously? Is there a blocking scheme which purposely says five O-lineman will block three players and leave a RB to go one on one in space??? 2) on a max protect Gardner sprinted to the right. Again zone blocking. The C, RG, RT, TE, and RB all zone blocked to the right. Lewan and Bosch zone blocked going left. That seems bad enough, what happened next is what I really don't get. Lewan barely touched the DE as if he was passing him off to Bosch, Bosch did the same thing, except everyone else who could block was all moving to the right. The DE rushed in for the sack because both routes were covered. Why would two players zone block to the opposite direction of a sprint roll out pass and then both pass off the one guy they are responsible for? I double checked, they were not setting up for a screen. I just don't get it. These two plays are representative of everything people are complaining about in general, bad play design, poor execution, putting players in a position to fail, a complete lack of cohesion. I would really appreciate a coaches feedback on these two examples to help me understand what is going on.

Faith in this staff. I don't understand how the line can be this bad,he'll even lewan isn't very good. Honestly, Brandon needs to force hoke to fire OC and oline coach. Lloyd made changes when stuff wasn't working, also we need a new RB coach. Just watching the Bama LSU game, wow the SEC player just look huge compared to our guys, every B1G player. Why can't Deveon smith get carries?

The coaches have loved to emphasize accountability.  If accountability is truly a virtue of this football program, Al Borges will be gone after this year (if not others along with him).

There are many reasons why our offense may be struggling this season.  But very few of those reasons, if any, relieve Al Borges of accountability.

To me, Borges has now become GERG.

Borges' performance might be worse than Greg Robinson's. Robinson seemed to have very little control over his scheme and position coaches while Borges is in this family and is his own position coach. Not to mention the relatively better talent Borges has had to work with. Robinson was a just-okay coach in an awful position. Borges is in a pretty awesome position, and yet...

there are a shitload of games each week that the winning team gives up 20, 30, hell 40 points and they are still victorious. We have scored one touchdown in 8 quarters. YOU CANNOT WIN GAMES WITHOUT SCORING POINTS.

They talked about how well wison has been playing but they decide to change him up and Furman sounded like he was gonna play to even if Gordon's ankle wasn't hurt.  Now tell me why the hell would u do that when the offense is the problem maybe sit Fitz's loesy blocking ass which seems to be no one on the team can do is block.  We were suppose to have all these good rbs but they don't play anyone but Fitz?  Finally green played some and at least when he had some room he gained yards unlike Fitz who loses them always he has gotten worse since his sophomore year.  I say change up all the offensive coaches Fred it is time to go we need some young blood.  Wheatley my choice.  Borges we can have a monkey do better than him n funk well I say hire someone who has been a pro before Backus runyan,   Backus is helping the lions line and they look good.   Maybe I am biased but I think he would be good or hutchinson.  Just want someone different.   N it would make recruiting better

What completely befuddles me is why Borges thought it was good play calling when he called the two runs after the muffed punt recovery.  It makes no sense whatsoever.  There is NO rational justification that he, Hoke, nor anyone could offer that would justify this.  First, it has not worked all season.  Second, it has not worked all game.  Most importantly, although I understand the idea of "maintaining the run" to keep the defense honest, but that wasn't the right circumstance in the game to be doing this.  This was a time in the game to take shots at the End Zone and make Nebraksa pay dearly for fumbling.

Freakin' pathetic.  I just cannot understand why a guy would do that.
