Semi-OT: OSU Commit Throws Down the "O" Gauntlet
Buckeye commit Tyler Green was in Ann Arbor yesterday with some teammates for the UM Football camp.
He decided it would be good to wear all OSU gear and throw up the "O" on the field.
Love the guts to do this, but also can't wait for Canteen to blow right by him for a TD!!
Some of the comments are funny too:
Based on what is on Rivals I am surprised OSU made him an offer. 3 star rating, mid level Rival ranking and he isn't nationally ranked. For the position he actually is on the small side. His stats are nothing special. I didn't see anything spectacular in his film.
"Fuck this kid."
This goes right near the top of the list of Things That Should Never, Ever Be Said.
Agreed. It took me a second, but you are absolutely correct.
I like the fact that the kid has the balls to get it on in Ann Arbor. That's the kind of thing that makes rivalries special.
F*** this guy, too.
No Yeezus....NO
I've been looking for a reason to hate Ohio State for years. Finally, I have it.
It took this long to find a reason to hate Ohio State? Where have you been.....
the /s was implied.
/s
It figures E. Gordon Gee wouldn't get the sarcasm...........
At least he won't be receiving a flood of death threats like if he'd trolled Ohio State.
He is wearing blue socks.
Ohio State recruits have to come to Michigan's camp to learn how to play football.
Yeah...and ballerinas who wear Nike flip-flops are going to have major, major foot problems later on in life. So take that, Tyler Green!
Is that what that is? I always thought it was supposed to be a toilet seat in honor of the stadium. You know, the kind in public bathrooms where the seat doesn't quite go all the way around the front.
Given that Michigan had zero interest in this kid, at least he got a chance to visit an institute of higher learning (no offense intended to Hawaii, Charlotte, Maryland and Indiana).
In his defense, he ain't come here to play school.
In related news, here's a pic of his Mom showing her team spirit.
That's a bit below the belt.
And apparently a bit over your head. That's not really his mom, genius. It's a stock photo of an OSU fan that's been circulating for years.
The next pic shows him with Sally Struthers trying to get him a sandwhich.
Rich Rodriguez would have been all over this kid as a box safety, and I bet there are a number of people on this board who would be excited about him. He played corner last year and is listed at 6'3", 195 lbs. He's not an otherworldly athlete, but he's big and strong with decent speed. I don't really see him fitting what Michigan wants to do (which is perhaps one reason why they haven't offered, but he has decent skills.
Magnus throwin' it down!
he didn't close the paranthetical statement, and I'm left with an incomplete feeling.
is for p*ssies who come here to play school. /s
If Rich would've wanted him as a defender, wouldn't that mean one of three things:
1. He would transfer upon arriving on campus,
2. He would get booted from the team upon arriving on campus,
2. He would be found academically ineligible, or
3. He would remain on the team but be part of an epically bad defense
he could have faced the other way next to the H and the I in the end zone and actually started to spell something.
Still, a bold move.
"Fuck this kid" and "This kid must die" show that at least some Michigan fans have an issue with it. Ideally, of course, everyone on both sides would take your "Whatever...it's kids having fun" approach.
Oh yes, I forgot. OSU only recruits and accepts commitments from five-star players. My bad.
so you can't edit, but "loose?" Really??
Sorry to diminish your sense of superiority Kimosabe.
If so, then yeah my bad. But if you think that I'm trying to demonstrate any superiority over someone with regards to the difference between lose and loose, then you don't know me very well.
I flew into Seattle yesterday (of course I was wearing my 'Michigan Football' T-Shirt.. I ran into a guy wearing an Ohio State T-Shirt and, in light of Seattle being the home of Macklemore, I asked the Ohio State fan about his shirt:
"Pick that up at a thrift shop?"
Tim
There is no way that guy connected the dots from We're in Seattle ---> Macklemore's from Seattle ---> Macklemore dropped "Thrift Shop" ---> My reference to a stranger was clever.
Have to agree. Same reason why I didn't mind when Malzone said that it wouldn't be the last time he left Columbus happy a few weeks ago. I will start to worry when the fan bases and players stop doing these types of things to each other.
This is what you're supposed to do in a rivalry.
Think about how much it would suck if OSU decided their legitimate B1G football rival was Sparty and only did this kind of thing directed at them. I'm happy to still be considered relevant.
