I played for 3 yrs and enjoy the game, on the ground. I coach kid's as well.

But that's the extent of my appreciation. I understand talent and importance to the world and the cultural significance.  Those things are completely not lost on me.

But, I'd rather do yard work, or train dogs, or go fishing, or a million other things,   than waste a sunny day in front of the t.v. Same goes for baseball or whatever else is on right now. 

NOTHING else has the same appeal as Michigan football or hockey. 

I'd rather focus on clogging my arteries with cheeseburgers and freedom fries than take the World Cup seriously enough to feel any pain over a loss to GHANA. 

Incapable of appreciating sport for the sake of sport; need team to whose results self-esteem/worth can be irrevocably attached; not sure where "Manchester" and "Liverpool" are located; DERP

Have there really been that many complainers?  From what I've seen, in a typical WC thread there will be like 2-3 anti-soccer posts out of like 100.    

I was once stung by a bee while playing soccer.  I then molested it.  No word on whether it had Aspergers

Because Americans love a winner, and will not tolerate a loser.  Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed.  The very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.  That is why we don't love this communist kick-ball.  We are not the best at it.

Almost all of the above, sort of:

A. As a child, I was too small and my father wouldn't let me play football.  

B. When I was old enough to choose, I was too big of a pussy, and joined a soccer team that got blown out every single game.  

C. I was preemptively dumped by every girl who didn't date me in high school, and they didn't give me any reason (damn sluts).

D/E. During my short tenure on the soccer team, I was probably molested by my coach's eyes because hey, I'm fucking hot.  Pretty sure it transcends gender and sexual preference.

F/G. I don't know any, but if I did I would molest the shit out of them.
