Saturday drinking thread
It's hockey beer for hockey season
So that I can feel like I earned my trip to Rib Fest (IrvingPark and Damen in Chicago for those in the city) later today, followed by a sit down in the Half Acre taproom with some Akari Shogun American Wheat
Check out Murphy's Irish ribs. They were by far the best I had yesterday!
It tastes like wolf pussy
I have my daughter's dance recital this afternoon, followed by a dinner of her choosing. That basically means we'll end up at either Applebee's or Cracker Barrell, but today, she is the star. Later on this evening, I will probably catch up on MGoBlog and drink the Goose Island 312 in the fridge.
Tomorrow, something about weeding and finally changing out the lighting fixtures in the kitchen. There's a list that Mrs. LSA wrote somewhere that I admittedly only skimmed.
Since the AB-Inbev purchase, 312 is now brewed in an AB plant in Balwinsville, NY, so that's a 315, not a 312 . . .
First full weekend off work in a while. After I get some laundry done (dammit), I'll be relaxing and putting back some Hoegaarden.
Haven't seen you in awhile. Good to hear you are still around
I'm still an avid lurker, no worries. I've been busy lately and my posts come in spurts due to a 24 hours on / 24 hours off work schedule.
Just woke up naked. Dont know why
Because it's morning. That's why most people wake up.
Then off to the farmers' market with the family.
I want to buy a Vita Mix blender and go to the Farmers market and just load up on veggies and fruit. Make myself some smoothies loaded up with all my veggies and fruits for the day. Need to improve my diet and its too hard to eat all those veggies raw.
Have a massage at 1 then gonna do some light lifting and then play some basketball. Probably should have scheduled massage for after all that. Oh well
Hey guys. Cool site.
Mentally preparing myself for Hatterdays.
Should be fun.
What are Hatterdays?
Saturdays with hats?
Coffee for now, but I have a 90 Minute ipa and a Lagunitas Hop Stoopid waiting for me for later today.
to help put 3200 lbs of wild game and ground pork into sausage casings. at the liberty of whats on tap, but the wife has been put on notice that she's driving home
Sounds like uncle teds been busy
But hIs obnoxious ass bolted Michigan for TX.
So...I started off with Goose Island's Summertime. (Not an Alcoholic if the morning feels like night. Repeat X3)
Going to move on to some Sierra Nevada Torpedos later.
Oh yeah. GI Summertime. Meh...Not a Wheat Beer fan.
Much will be consumed later today. Right now drinking water and eating chicken salad, watching the first season of Arrested Development.
Gotta love 21st birthdays. Lots of fun, even more alcohol. A quick recomendation: stay soberish (or at least don't get really drunk), in case your GF drinks too much. That's mostly from the experience that I had this last year with my gf (and all my friends) turning 21—every got way too drunk \on their birthday, and almost every birthday boy/girl got sick.
Last call in Cincinnati is 2:00AM, so I think I'll just have a beer or two before hitting the bar and playing it by ear from there, doubt I'll way overdo it in two hours if I don't pregame.
I'll bet there are some crazy stories on here from 21st (or 18th if you go back far enough) birthdays. Hopefully tonight is just as wild.
Where are you going? Mt. Adams is probably the best for 21st birthday type festivities. At least it was when I lived there.
Tonight with the limited timeframe we're just going to stay in Clifton, since pretty much everyone we're going out with is a student at UC. Tomorrow is some German restaurant in Mt. Adams and then some kind of nicer bar/club afterwards.
That's cool. I lived in Clifton once upon a time (Riddle Rd, right off of MLK and Clifton Ave). The bars in that Corryville area are the ones in Clifton we used to hit up. And that Skyline at Clifton and Ludlow got a lot of my money - I think I went there three times in one day more than once.
We're meeting up with another friend of hers at her apartment at Probasco and Clifton Ave, and the girlfriend's dad works within a block of there (he's in the EE-CS department at UC). I don't know if that's the area we're going to, as I can't keep up with their plans, but I'll keep that in mind if we do.
Mint julep while watching the U21 Euro Championship. Norway up 2-0 but waiting for my young Azzurri playing later
Drinking bud light and about to shoot me some woodchucks in my back field.
No drinking yet, doing some paperwork and watching qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix.
With the fiancé and another couple from the office. Whatever i run into for sale (IC Light most likely) will be consumed.
Call me beetch.
I may have to break out my stash. Oberon is not available in TN
Gatorade. Went for a run, mowed the lawn, applied some herbicide, now sitting down to rest.
How's bragging camp?
We just moved to a new city and the older guy next door just brought me a Summer Shandy and introduced himself while I was doing yard work. I'm gonna like this place!
Coffee. We put an offer on a house last night (because my wife loves it) so I spent the whole night telling myself we can't afford it and then trying to convice myself I'm wrong. It's a vicious cycle, and one that results in little sleep. I'm the one who likes to buy the cheapest of everything, and my wife likes having the best, so of course we need to compromise. Unfortunately, some of those compromises (especially this big ones like this) give me some hefty anxiety.
Thanks for letting me vent.
I've been through that a few times. These west coast housing markets really take all the fun out of buying a home, but I hope it all works out for you.
Valencia. That's where our house is now as well.
I know the housing market out there is insane. Hell, that's the main reason I moved away! But chances are, it will work out for the best, whatever the outcome.
Sitting at Uptown Grille drinking a Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree IPA. Heading downtown to bar hop, then seeing Tosh at the Fox. Should be a good day.
Arghuckbleck.I haz all the colds.
Just said adios to 16 4 yr olds at my daughters 5th birthday party. Now drinking much needed Crown Royal!
Sixteen 5-year-olds? You have definitely earned that Crown Royal.
R u a gastroenterologist?
Taking in my first cubs game ever and drinking an old style. Also kevin from the american pie movies is in the section next to me.
Nothin like Dog Style and the Cubbies!
Crooked tree golf, shwasted, trophy, go blue, champions, champagne, odawa casino, shots
Excellent first post. Cheers!
American Stout. Then off to Armani's for some Italian food.
for the day. . stopped by Hess Brewing. The thing about San Diego is that everywhere we play, there is some awesome little craft brew place close by. I love soccer season!
Having "salutem". It is an American Brown Ale. hoppy too!
What's with the nets?
as a human whisper chipper. A v&t would be nice, but for now it's church!
2009 Ojai Santa Barbara County is awaiting grilled burgers, so Anchor Steam summer until then. In Claremont, which is a rude changeup from San Francisco, like 88 and bonedry.
is almost perfect. Why are you there?
Fambly (in-laws to be). Claremont growing on me. Like that brewery that opened in the Packing House. As a college town, though, coming from Ann Arbor...
Sadly, I don't think the battle of the 5 C's made it into WWZ. Congrats to you and best wishes to her. In what neighborhood do you dwell in SF? I used to live near California and Van Ness, taking the cable car to work. Just for old time's sake my daughter is living in Parkmerced this summer.
has a ski-beach day? Snow ski in the morning, surf in the afternoon!
Didn't he used to do that? And for SFBlue, WWZ is a book by a Pitzer grad and a Brad Pitt movie due out in 2 weeks.
Thanks. We live in Cole Valley. It would frustrate me to be a student at one of the Claremont colleges, be so close to the Rose Bowl, but not having a team to follow. What is the WWZ?
Beer Geek Breakfast, Yeti Barrel Aged Espresso and an Ommegang Iron Throne
Deschutes The Abyss
Deschutes Inversion IPA
Goose Island The Illinois IPA
At a bar in Boston with justin@bursley. I'm having a weihenstephaner and he's having a ballast point.
My son's team just won their last soccer game. Currently 6-2 and in first place. Now I'm enjoying a Sam Adams porch rocker.
with some Landshark Lager. Now grilling up some ribeyes with Newcastle Bombshell
Go Pro Games in Vail this weekend, so a lot of anything and everything in quantity!
Good fights on Showtime tonight! Miller Lite, nothing special.
ron at my nephews grad party.... im getting old.
New Glarus Totally Naked and Horny Goat Hopped Up 'N Horny IPA
Two hearted ale in AZ. The only state out west where you can get the shit.
Anyone watching this Kings-Hawks Game 5? Unreal. Richards deflects one off a faceoff with 9 seconds left to force OT. Thought it was over for the Kings when the Kaner slapped one in five minutes into the game to make it 2-0.
Overall would like to see a Hawks-Bruins final, but I am glad there is more hockey to watch tonight.
Damn right - great game. Though I probably wouldn't hate the Hawks so much if I didn't live in Chicago.
Firestone Walker Pale 31 with Dogfish Head 61 later potentially.
Im running out of beer!
Looks like it. Man, need a commercial break here. Been waiting 20 mins here for a break to grab a beer.
EDIT: Finally, Lagunitas IPA
Kings or hawks? I just saw the most surreal commercial of drew doughtys parents on CBC. Gotta pick the kings
Kings. That they are still playing slants LA's way. Hawks have had their chances in OT. But would not rule out a Kaner hat trick.
Damn. Kaner hat trick it is.
Was amazing! Stud!
That is the Hawks' game. Will be interesting to see that matched up with the Bruins grind and counter-strike. When was the last time the two top seeds met in the finals? Awhile, I bet. A good long while.
Nice prediction you should buy some lottery tix
Big Red IPA
Hofbrauhaus Dunkel at the Bavarian Festival. Now a bottle of Bell's Third Coast at home.
Stop clicking then a-hole! Every damn weekend...
